My daughter is now 6 months old and so far we are very pleased with Bfd Pediatrics & Allergy, especially Dr. Alvino. We have seen 4 other doctors there as well and were happy with them, we just prefer Dr. Alvino. We have never felt rushed and were given plenty of time to ask all the questions that we needed as first time parents. They also seem to be very efficient and organized which is something that is important to me. They also have lactation consultants on staff that are very helpful. I would strongly recommend this practice.

I've been taking my kids to Branford Pediatrics for over 13 years. I decided to post a review after reading "way too big." In the 13+ years I've taken my kids there, I have NEVER met Dr. Cheryl Caragnano. This person may be getting confused with another group??? I have nothing but positives re: this practice. I interviewed several pediatricians while pregnant with my first child (that was 14 years ago). Once I met Dr. Alvino, my decision was made. All 3 of my kids love him. When my daughter turned 10, she started seeing Dr. Erin Rice, as she felt more comfortable with a female MD. My two boys continue to see Dr. "Patrick." I've recommended this group to many friends/family and those new to the area. All have been pleased with the service provided. Seriously, no negative comments.

This practice is big, but I have never had any of the negative experiences that the other reviewer posted. I have always been greeted kindly and taken care of thoroughly. The doctors all have something I like about them and there aren't any one I would really avoid. On more than one occasion I have even overheard the receptionists/staff talking about parents of their patients amongst themselves and they are saying very nice things. (which is reassuring to me as a parent of two of their patients!)

Dr. Alvino is great with my girls who are 3 and 1. He speaks directly to them and encourages them to talk about how they are doing. He is silly and charismatic and my girls really love going to see him (my oldest wants to have him over for a playdate). Once, after a visit he called me later at home to say he had re-thought something he had recommended and wanted to go a different way just to be on the safe side. I really appreciated that he was giving us that individual attention even after we had left.

That is taking nothing away from the other doctors at the practice. They have ALL been great it is just that the particular chemistry Dr. Alvino had with my girls was so strong we started seeing him whenever possible. My girls have never reacted negatively to any of the other doctors.

They sometimes do run late, but I don't think it is because they are so big. When my children are sick they have always brought us in immediately (and they are open until 9pm or something like that!). My assumption is that when I have had a sick child, someone else with a scheduled well visit probably had to wait for us, so I am happy to wait when it I am lucky enough to have the child who is not sick.

Terrible customer service and billing dept. Do no keep organized information and do not submit correct billing. Too big, doctors do not give a personal health approach.

I am very rarely ever so dissatisfied with something that I would bother to write a review, but my daughter has technically been a patient at Branford P & A for seven years now. Thankfully, we are moving out of the area so I have a great excuse to go elsewhere. I should have changed years ago when Dr. Cheryl Caragnano unfortunately left. She was the only person there I liked. I say my daughter has "technically" been a patient there because, other than yearly checkups, I have taken her to my Dr. with any other concerns just so I wouldn't have to deal with that office. (Fortunately, my child is very rarely ill.) My main complaint is that everyone there, from the office staff on, is consistently very terse and even sometimes discourteous about any simple request or question. Every time I had to deal with them I felt they'd rather not be bothered with me.... and as a result, as I say, I tended to take my child elsewhere for health care. Additionally, they just don't get it right. As an example, my Dr. was mortified when he heard that one day I was tersely told by Branford P&A that my daughter "just had a stomach bug" the day we went through 30 diapers-worth of diarrhea in 5 hours. On another occasion (though I have a high-deductible insurance plan) I was charged extra for the Dr. to "review the file" since I didn't offhand know every type and date of immunization that my daughter had received by age 6. They also have little understanding of HIPAA and told me to do things the wrong way when I finally transferred practices. My feeling is they are just such a big operation that they are all likely very overworked and stressed. At least that is the impression I've always had. And I would hate to trust the health of my child to an overburdended staff.

i recommend this office to people all the time. This is the best pedi doc in the new haven area. You can get a appt the same day you call the doc's are great with children. If it wasn't for this office my daughter's excema and asthma would have never been able to get them under control where she barely has any problems.Best in every way possible.

PROS: Being able to be seen very fast.
CONS:
