Just went here today for my psyichal! Dr.Ammons is a really good doctor! They took excellent care of me, and made sure everything went great! I have been to both offices, and they are both great. I recommend these offices to ANYONE. This is the best doctor I have ever been to!

Stay Away From This Place At All Costs..... I took my son there and the doctors were so incompetent. I have 4 children and have never seen a pediatric center operate this way. I Would Never Return!!!!

We have had nothing but praise for the way this office handled our childrens' medical care for 16 years. However, just this week I took my older child in for a fever and sore throat on a Monday. Being a registered nurse myself for 23 years, I could tell WITHOUT the $35 culture that she had strep throat. This developed over a weekend and they charge $35.00 for an appointment on "off hours". She also has 3 heart defects and is at very high risk for the strep to land on her malfunctioning heart valve and cause a very serious heart infection, so I started to treat her at home( over the weekend) with penicillin that I had on hand (to give her before her dental appointment in 2 weeks) over the weekend knowing the treatment would be the same for strep throat. This saved my daughter the dangers of the heart infection, me the $35.00 + co-pay, the office the long weekend hours (I know what it's like to be on call and their office had to be flooded with sick kids Sat. & Sun), and my daughter a day of school later in the week. Dr. Haught threw a complete fit about this, was rude and disrespectful to me, my husband and worst of all, my daughter. He was ticked off because I started her on penicillin---and that's OK with me, but he did not have to behave like a jackass! He basically behaved like a spoiled 2 year old and threw a prescription to my husband for the remainder of the penicillin that she would need. He would not write her an excuse to miss school!!!! Strep throat is highly contagious! We think he did it just to be mean and spiteful. His behavior was inexcuseable, disrespectful and unreasonable in our eyes. We desperately miss Dr. Price because we knew he truly cared about our children and was not on a ego trip! Stick to your guns because you know your children better than anyone! In all fairness, I must praise Dr. Tift and Dr. Gross for their excellent care over the years. This office has always been here for us and handled things appropriately until this week.

We use Roseville for our 6 month old and are very impressed. While we try to get Dr. Haught for all appointments, this is not always possible (let's be honest, when you have a sick baby, you take the first available) Regardless, all of our experiences with the Doctors have been positive. They listen to questions, answer them and reassure you that your concerns, worries and insanity is normal as a new parent. We have experienced 3 ear infections in the last 3 months - all the doctors have treated her with empathy and care. With those infections we have woken up twice on Sunday morning with fevers and have been seen at the office that morning! That, to me, is five star service!! :)
For parents who are looking for a good ped. check them out - but make sure you listen carefully. They are very upfront with the communication expectations - people who are not happy may not be having realistic expectations!

If you have sick child with special needs, they are GREAT medically. If you are into natural/alternative medicine and not putting your kid on medicine at the drop of a hat, probably not for you.

Following are the + & - that I experienced suring our 5 years of using Roseville.

+They are the Pediatric Drs. at LGH. So if you go to the ER at LGH, you are probably going to be seen by a Roseville Dr. If your child is admitted, a Roseville Dr. is in the building most of the time.

+ Most Drs. have a specialty. The Dr. may not have been specifically teated in say "asthma" but keeps up with the latest research and is considered the in-house "asthma specialist.

+They are not afraid to refer a patient out when that patient is beyond typical (Dr. Rilley & Dr. Zehr). We needed appointments with both a pediatric pulminologist and pediatric pulminologist. Not only did they get the one Dr. on the phone to discuss my son's case while we were sitting there, but we also had appointments within a week. I have friends at different practices that have waited MONTHS to see the same Drs.

+Overall, I really was happy with the Drs.

+If you have a child that medically should get a flu shot, I have never had a problem getting my son's in Oct/ early Nov.

+They went to bat with my insurance company to get the $1000/ month RSV shot for my premmie son.

+I fell down the stairs at 4 weeks with my son. When I called, they had me come in immediately. Dr Krak was very thorough and sent to LGH for x-rays where we did not wait and got the results just as quick.

+My son had an asthma attack at 3. We saw Dr. Krak. He did not hear wheezing but decided to pull out the oxygen measuring machine (not all ped offices have one of these). The result was low enough that we were sent right over and were admitted immediately. Upon arrival, another Roseville Dr. that had been briefed on my son was in his room about 20 minutes after his arrival.

-/+When my son had an asthma attack at 2, Dr. Krak did not hear wheezing and sent us home. The following day, we had a pulminologist appointment. The reason there was no wheezing was because he was not moving enough to wheeze (mommy learned alot about asthma too). Upon calling the office manager to relay this, I got a call within hours from his primary pediatrician. We discussed an action plan for follow up issues like this. His chart also got an asthma sticker plastered across the front. I feel that is part of the reason why we had a different outcome the next year-- see above.

-Other than your well child checks, don't plan on seeing your primary pediatrician when your child gets sick.

-I have a friend whose son was allergic to nuts and wheat. She had concerns about it and they dismissed it. She had to learn about elimination diets herself and go back once she was sure and fight for them to do the testing.

-In the end, we left this practice because they do not support our use of the feingold diet. Feingold elminates artificial colors, flavors, sweetners, certain preservatives and naturally occuring salicilates (tomatoes, grapes, berries to name a few). When my son does not follow this diet, he gets cold symptoms the next day. If he continues eating the food over a few days, it leads to asthma/ acidic, cronic diareah/ sinus infections-- or all three. When I first presented our use to Dr. Zehr, she said that the diet had not been properly tested and did not show conclusively that it helped or hurt behavior. I tried the diet to help cronic diareah, not behavior (where I agree that results can be subjective)-- I don't feel like she was even open to listening to me and what it had done for Jay. When he needed an antibiotic, Dr. Rilley was not willing to prescribe one that did not incude artifical colors. Her comment "What is a few days of diareah?" was the final straw. My son's Hershey Pulminologist believed in the diet after seeing my son go from two daily asthma medications to no symptoms and no medication over the course of 18months (he even put his niece on it)-- it is unfortunate that Roseville could not be as open minded.

I have been pleased with the care I've received at Roseville. The nurses were extremely tolerant with me when I would start to panic because I needed a shot. (I am terrified of needles.) They have a new satellite practice at Kissel Hill Commons which is very convenient to my home.

Unfortunately many of the "old school" doctors which were practicing when I first started there have since retired and I find that I do get on as well with the new doctors. I feel that since I have left the cute young child stage that I get less preferential treatment. I mean let's face it - I drive myself to the appointments and write my own checks for the visit - I can't hold a candle to hiccuping newborn with the sniffles!

I just wanted to let others know of my experience with Roseville Pediatrics. I recentlly called in when my child had a fever of 103+ and they told me they could take me in a few hours and not to worry...this wasn't a high temp! When I took him in they said everything looked good, they could see anything wrong with his ears, throat or eyes. They said they would test for the Flu and have the results back that afternoon. Once 5 hours passed, they hadn't call me and my son was still very sick I called in to see if his test results were in. When I called they let me know that they accidentally forgot to send his test out and I would have to wait until tomorrow night for results. My son was very sick and they simply forgot about his test. I then pitched a fit and demanded results as promised. They did the test with the hour and then said he didn't have the flu...it was simply a "bug". I wasn't satisfied with this since my son was having trouble breathing by now and still had a temp of 103. So I took him to a family doctor. This doctor say that he had an ear infection, and a very red throat with spots. So this justifies my point...Roseville is far too large to care about your child. I will not be going back to say they least!

Dr. Haught is the best pediatric doctor. He is funny and easy going and my son loves going to the him even if he is sick. There are numerous doctors in this practice so there has never been a problem with getting a sick child visit. They even have Saturday morning hours which has saved me a trip to the ER on more than one occasion.

They have been voted the best in Lancaster county for years. My kids love all the dr's and I like all but one. They have always had my childrens best interest at heart. They have a huge waiting room with lots of things for the kids to do. The wait is never long either.

On the recommendation of a good friend I switched pediatricians and chose Roseville. I am always able to get a quick appointment for my sick child. They have separate waiting room areas for sick and well babies. They have wonderful hours including Saturday. Also if I have a question but I don't think I need an actual visit I can call a speak to a nurse you with either be able to provide an answer or direct me to schedule an appointment. I have been very happy with this office.

I grew up knowing that everytime I got sick, I got to go to Roseville Pediatrics to "get fixed." Roseville's doctors are the best pediatricians around.

This pediatric office has been seeing our son since he was born three years ago. They are great to schedule a sick visit for our child as well as having a nurse return our calls if we have questions. The office has this cool Thomas the Tank Engine train that runs through the waiting room which all kids, my son included, absolutely love. They also have a well baby waiting room as well as a sick child area.
