I would never recommend this dr or the other drs at Desert Bloom where she works. Real immature bullying attitude, does not listen. all drs contradict each other each visit cause you see a different dr each visit. Its always an hour or more wait to see any dr and the insensitivity level after losing a baby was horrendous. Staff billed my insurance wrong so I thought they had done procedures I knew nothing about while under anesthesia which made me feel violated more than I already felt from my whole horrible experience with her and the other drs there. I am still recovering from surgery from there and still need treatment and I've switched to a new dr right in the middle of it all due to their being inept, uncaring, bullying and difficult.

Andrea Mainman was unbearably inconsiderate and rude. My wife did not want to commit to yes or no on the epidural, but just wanted to see how things went (which is completely understandable for a first pregnancy!). This didn't seem to be an issue until we were actually delivering. Andrea was not on call but came in place of her husband and she clearly was in a hurry to get back home. She was inexcusably rude to my wife saying things like "What makes you think you can do this without an epidural?" Despite my wife progressing completely normally, Andrea broke her water without asking permission and then put her on a Pitocin drip (also without asking). Obviously both of these things made the contractions escalate drastically, all but forcing my wife to request the epidural. Andrea was absent from the entire labor otherwise...just popped in to be insulting and forcibly speed up the process. My wife even had to stop pushing and stall the delivery while we waited for Andrea to show up again and deliver our baby.

This was our first child and we now know better how to take control and not let arrogant doctors walk all over us--but there is no excuse for Andrea's unprofessional behavior. We went with the Birth Center for our second child and it was like night and day.

then I switched doctors because these people are terrible-both the husband and the spaced out wife doctor. I was over 40 and pregnant. I wanted to have all the tests done to ensure I was delivering a healthy baby. They don't believe in that stuff-they think you take what God gives you and you shut the F up. Really, ask them for info on testing for Downs and they give you the run around. They will not schedule anything unless you DEMAND it and then it is still a hassle. Staff tells you to call St. Joe's but St. Joe's never heard from office staff so hospital cannot help you. Very weird with the wife doctor too-seems like she is out of it and forgetful of your name, who you are, why you are there-you want to say, "hey, the belly means I have a baby inside. . . " just to let her orient herself. Find new doctors

I'm with the Mainmans (and now their new partner Priestly) for my second pregnancy. Dr Andrea delivered my first and she was GREAT! Long labor but she didn't give up and in the end I didn't have the c-section I feared I might need. Their new office is is the nicest dr office I've ever seen and now with the new office and a new doc in their group I hardly ever have to wait. SEE THESE DOCS! Its hard for me to believe some of the previous negative comments can be talking about the same docs I'm seeing.

If you are looking for a OB keeping looking. The Mainman's were recommended to me by coworkers so I thought they would be great. I started spotting so I called to schedule an appt. and the office staff rudely told me to go to the ER. After suffering a miscarriage I had my follow up appt. after signing in the office staff loudly asked if I was there for my post abortion visit. I know early miscarriages are called spontaneous abortions, but how insenstive can a person be. After being checked by the doctor I told her I had started charting because I heard that miscarriages can mess up your ovulation days, she snapped "You can't try again for three months!" I never met with Mr. Mainman so I can not speak for his bedside manner. But I do know that I will NEVER go back to that office again.

Dr Andrea is a very compassionate physician, who held my hand when I found out that I was having miscarriage. Also..according to my friend that went there during her pregancy..they did a cervix check after 36 weeks...maybe this other person is sadly mistaken....
Also, I am concerned that this insider pages had this ad

I've been seeing Dr. Andrea and Dr. Mainmann over the last 8 months. I would NOT recommend either of them for prenatal care. I am currently 39 weeks pregnant and have a lot of pressures and pains yet neither of them have checked my cervix. I have been going for my weekly visits for a month now and a typical visit consists of the MAs taking vitals and a urine specimen, and then the Drs will come in to say "alright, everything looks good, see ya in a week". In fact, I went into the OB triage (Emergency Room) 3 days ago so I would at LEAST have the answers. It's sad when you have to pay a $300 co-pay at and ER because your OB Physician is NOT thorough at all. I'm sad that it is too late in the game to find a physician who might actually take 10 minutes to do a pelvic exam.
