I take all three of my children to Eden Pediatrics. We are very pleased with this office. We have never had a bad experience. The staff and doctors are all very friendly. Dr. Carter and Dr. Law are my favorites. They both seem to really be concerned about my children, not like some doctors who can't take the time to actually talk to you. They have a separate well child waiting area, which is great if you are there for a check up and don't want to expose your child to all the germs floating around the sick children. The only CON is that it is hard to get a work in appointment if your child is sick. They are a very busy practice. But it hasn't stopped me from going there.

Eden Pediatrics stayed open until everyone was seen during the last flu season. I know of no other pediatric office that has done the same.I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with them. The doctors are very thorough and friendly as well as informative and the nurses there are so kind. The doctors are always on call and they ALWAYS call you back when you need their help. I've been with them for 9 years now and have never had a bad experience!

PROS: GO THE EXTRA MILE FOR YOU!!

My family landed in Eden Pediatrics by default; knowing only that I much preferred to give birth at Morehead Hospital, my OB/GYN recommended Eden Pediatrics, whose doctors supply the hospital. Thier offices are conveniently located just across the street from the hospital, only two buildings away from my OB - one stop shopping, as it were.

I found that our first doctor had definite ideas about how things should be done; while he was all for breastfeeding, he was absolutely against co-sleeping and advised me to let my two-month-old cry herself to sleep in her own crib at once. Advice is great, but the "my way or the highway" way of thinking is not my idea of a great pediatrics practice. Our second and current doctor is more accepting of my style of parenting. Even she seems a bit rigid about ideas that are only guidelines, however - for instance, she was very alarmed when my daughter lost half a pound between her one-year and fifteen-month visits (she had become much more mobile in this time frame) and was concerned that she wasn't walking at fifteen months (as late as eighteen months is well within the 'normal' range, and my daughter started walking the very next week.)

The nurses at Eden Pediatrics are wonderful - very nice and go to great lengths to make vaccines, etc, as painless as possible for the little ones. They are always extremely helpful when calling with questions. The office staff is not as nice - sometimes downright surly - although they are great at handling out-of-state insurance claims.

The wait time to see a doctor is sometimes frustrating - fifteen to thirty minutes on average before the doctor is in the exam room with us. Scheduling the first appointment of the day usually doesn't help as some doctors do hospital rounds in the mornings.

Overall, Eden Pediatrics is a decent practice and we will continue to utilize their services - however, I ALWAYS research advice given before making a decision, and urge others to do likewise.

PROS: Convenient location; great nurses; knowledgeable staff.
CONS: Some staff attitude; wait time.
