I have read some reviews not so good about them here.. and really don;t understand them at all. I have been shopping here for a long time. I have always been treated nice, I guess everybody has a bad day but never seen what others have said.. yes I have had to wait.. but they are always busy,,But if you want a good fitting then this is the place to go.. they have loads and loads of bras and in sizes that you can;t get anywhere else.. They have QUALITY merchandise that is going to LAST, and not fall apart the first time you wash it. When you buy Quality items Yes they do cost a little more.. but i had druther pay a little more than have to keep buying bras that tear up the first time you wash them. the ladies alway treated me with respect and know what they are doing. So take it from somebody that drives a long way just to shop here and try them out.. you won;t be sorry..

I was grateful for the reviews here, so I would be watching for all of the aspects which received complaints.
When I arrived, I didn't get a greeting, but the staff was busy with customers. The signage clearly told me to sign in if I wanted a fitting, which I did. I am a difficult size - can't buy it in most stores and ordering online runs the risk of dissatisfaction.

Regarding other reviewers complaints:
1. Yes, there was a waiting area with chairs and a TV, and a sign asking men to remain there. I understand the need - while I was being fitted the curtain couldn't remain closed (the changing rooms are very small), so some women would feel embarrassed having men nearby.
2. The fitting rooms were similar to those at a tailor shop - cloth curtain you pull over manually so, no, they don't close as tightly as a door. The "fitter" has the curtain pulled aside a little to get in. I suppose they're trying to save space; there were several fitting "rooms".
3. The floors definitely needed vaccuuming/cleaning, and there wasn't a lot of decoration.

However, I've never seen so many bras in one place, ever. Again, I have a difficult size to find, and they had ORGANIZED racks of sizes I didn't know exist. The employees know exactly where to find your size, can look up alternatives in their catalogs, know the names/item #s of each bra - very thorough.

One aspect of the fitting that I didn't care for was that the fitter independently pulled some bras I didn't like. I would have preferred to browse the styles myself, which I did, and adviced her of the ones I wanted to try on.

As to price, LARGE BREASTS COST MORE. That's the case wherever you go, unless you buy cheap, unsupportive, ill-fitting bras. I purchased several competitively-priced bras and an expensive one, along with extras. Some are being shipped to me for $5, as the color I wanted wasn't in stock.

They've got lots of extras there: Spanx, straps, swimsuits, and an entire MASTECTOMY fitting business!

FYI: they are the same company as Goddess.
They have a "frequent buyer" club, as well.

I was happy with my service, and will return.

Just as bad as it has always been. As a teenager, I was forced to turn to Ann's Bra Shop for bra shopping as my breasts were far too big to fit into the fun, dainty things at Victoria's Secret, etc. They were rude back then (and as one other customer noted, when you are 16 this can be fairly traumatizing), and not much has changed. I had a reduction when I turned 21, and enjoyed many nice, terrifying-and-cranky-old-lady free bra shopping experiences... until I got pregnant and had to go back to Ann's because of a large size increase. I had high hopes that in the span of all that time (about 11 years), that maybe they would have some friendlier staff. Nope. Just more rude, pushy, unsympathetic sales clerks. Glad I got some accurate sizing, however, I will be taking the knowledge of my size to Macy's or just about anywhere else in the future. ROTTEN CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I went to Anns and was treated with respect and could not of asked for any nicer people to wait on me.they were busy when I was there, but once I got back to the dressing room I felt like they had all the time in the world to make my fitting right. they helped me though a very trying time in my life. I was told they were a "Nationally accredited breast form provider" and they were very knowlegable and the fitting was done with respect towards me and my condition. I would reccommend them to anybody.

I have been an Ann's customer for many years as my mom shopped there as well. Initially I went there for properly fitting bras but recently I have had a bi-lateral mastectomy so it's a little different how.

I visited the Chesterfield location 2 weeks post-op hoping to get some kind of prosthesis as I wanted to go back to work and wanted "breasts." I was told that you need to be at least a month out of surgery as they do not want the weight of the prosthesis rubbing against your incision and possibly causing your incision to open. I was devastated to say the least but understood the logic. The owner, realizing how disappointed I was, brought out these 2 things that looked like miniature pillow shams. She told me to go to a craft store, buy some fiber fill, and make my own "breasts" to get by with for a couple of weeks. That way I had SOMETHING and it would be very light weight. I did exactly that and felt able to go out and about looking fairly normal.

After another two weeks, I went back to get my prosthesis. I am going through the reconstruction process at the moment and, much to my surprise and delight, they just LOAN you the prosthesis so as your real breasts get larger with each fill, you can change the size of the prosthesis and not be out the cost. I was so touched that they offer this service for women and find it amazing.

I have been back several times since and, even though I sometimes have to wait a bit before I get service, I know that once I'm with one of the ladies, she will spend as much time with me as I need to get what I need or accomplish what I'm there to accomplish. Ann's truly is a specialty store so you may have to wait, especially on the weekends, but know that it will be worth it.

I am sorry for those of you that had bad experiences with the shop. As far as insurance issues, things change with insurance so much it's probably hard to keep up with the latest processes & procedures. I'm sure they do the best they can and feel bad when they have given someone incorrect information.

I also know that sometimes I don't feel good when I go in there (surgery, chemo, etc.) or I may just be aggravated at life in general but I know it's ME and not them. I feel that the owner and the employees are very passionate about the fact that they work with cancer patients and consider it an honor to make us feel whole again. I, for one, am very thankful to Ann's Bra & Lingerie and will continue to shop there as well as recommend them to others.

I think it's hit or miss with the Olive store. Went in there several years ago with a friend. We both wanted proper fitting bras after seeing a special on Oprah. Yes, we had to wait over an hour. But the lady that helped each of us..we named.."The Bra Nazi." She was mean and eough with absolutely no personality. She brought in the bras she thought were right for each of us. I later walked around the floor and found my own. She was horrible..we still laugh about her and shudder. She has no business working with boobs. Then several years later..I am 54 years old..okay, went in for longline bra for my wedding dress. This assistant was average. Not pleasant but not a NAZI. Then one year ago, I went in looking for a swimsuit and a young black lady was working. She was WONDERFUL....she recommended a certain sytle and fit. It was something I would have never chosen for myself and it looked fabulous. I praised her and thanked her. I bet she doesn't work there anymore because she was out of the ordinary for this place. I am a RN and i would not recommend my patients to this shop.

OMG! I have never been treated so terribly in a store. Ann's Bras works with Cancer pateints and made me feel violated and unworthy. I went in to get fitted due to my recent Mastectomy w/ reconstruction. The sales lady was very pleasant, she asked if I'd been there in the past, I said no. I was told I could get two bras and they'd turn it into my insurance. I'd pay nothing now. I decided to get two to turn in and purchase two myself. At checkout, a different lady said I had to have a Dr. Precription. I asked for my originial sales lady. When she came out, she told me she gave me wrong information and I would need a Dr. note. I purchased my two bras, however, felt so humiliated, I turned around and returned them both. If you enjoy good customer service or are a cancer survivor, DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION - EVER!

Today, I stopped at the Ann's Bra Shop in Wentzville, MO. They were busy so I signed the list to wait for a fitting. One hour later I still had not been waited on and I was told you are next on the list. Then they took care of three customers that had arrived and signed up after me so I walked out. You lost a sale today and a repeat customer because of it. I will not be back because of bad customer service.

I needed an alteration done on a bra I had recently purchased online. I called Ann's and they said they could do it and that it wouldn't cost any more than six dollars. After driving over half an hour to get to the shop and waiting half an hour in line, the lady tells me that it's going to cost more. It takes another 30 minutes for her to place my order because she did not know how to work their system, then she leaves me to talk to someone else (not an employee) and doesn't even excuse herself. She recognizes my wait time by saying "Today's just not your day" rather than apologizing. She finally tells me my alteration will be ready in 7-10 business days and they would call. It took 3 weeks and now the threads are loose. I can't believe the great reviews on this place. I moved to MO from GA where customer service is expected. This place doesn't even compare to Intimacy, which I highly recommend if you have one in your area. I will never go back to Ann's.

When I went in here I didn't know what to expect but I soon learned. The staff was most helpful and really took their time with me. They measured and fitted and helped me to see the right bra for my body, but then I looked at the price of the bras and decided to wait. If you only need one bra I guess it's ok, but, if you need more I think you can take the knowledge and find them cheaper elsewhere.

If you have problems with ill fitting bras, this is the place for you. They spend alot of time making sure they get you the right bra. They do measurments first and then show you what would work best. They also have breast forms, surgical bras and custom made prosthesis. They staff is so kind and helpful and your bras will never fit better.

This is a great place to go to find bra's, lingerie and even swim suits that actually fit like there supposed to. The staff is great and are very knowledgeable. They will measure you and make sure that you are getting the perfect fit. If you are used to buying bras that don't fit right this is a really nice to know that you are getting a bra that is exactly right for you. You can even shop online for their items. Great place for women to shop.

Ann's Bra and Lingerie shop has provided services to woman of St. Louis for ages, offerinf larger sizes than most shops and Mastectomy forms and apparel. The Women that work here are trained and professional, they will assist you in getting the right size bra and helping you find one that is comfortable and fits properly. In addition, for women needing mastecomy forms, Ann's has the BEST selection in St. Louis, a very caring sales person will assist you in finding just want you need, at a time when you need that extra care and support. Ann's has night and weekend hours and a second location in O'Fallon at 20 S. Main St O'Fallon MO 63376.

PROS: Amazing Service and selection

I happened to see some reviews and was really disappointed in the comments. I am not related, although they make me feel as if I am. I have been shopping at Ann's for 25+ years and have sent them lots of referrals. Everyone I have sent has called to thank me! I will admit that the store can get busy from time to time and you sign in when you walk in the door. If I need to make a quick stop I phone to schedule a time. They are always willing to accommodate customers. The ladies know what they are doing and are fantastic at it. If you're a new customer explain what you want or don't want, it's just that simple. I have had everything from strapless bras custom tailored, purchased swimwear to calling in an order and having it mailed to me. I visit the store at least twice a year. I took my oldest daughter in to the shop a year ago to get fitted for the first time and have went back just last week for my youngest daughter to be fitted. We had been trying for a month to find her the right fit and buy her first bras, it wasn??t working out. She wasn??t getting fitted right and had finally just given up until? I took her to Ann??s! She told me on the way she wasn??t having anyone fit her or buying a bra. Yeah, ok? When we arrived I told the wonderful lady that she was not into the fitting and bra buying at all. Before my daughter realized what was up she was in the fitting room, gotten fitted and bought her first bra. She was so excited and I was so pleased at the way they made her comfortable that words can??t explain.
I read a comment from someone about their husband not being able to walk around the store and the curtains not closing. It was rather confusing to me. They wanted their husband to see what they tried on but were concerned that there was a crack that someone could see them on the side of the curtain. Honestly, I don??t think anyone cares to look. I know I don??t. Women shopping in the store could care less about looking at other women! I would be more concerned if men were walking around. As for MEN in the store... give me a break. This is a specialty shop for WOMEN. I don??t want to see men walking around the store when I??m trying on bras. And definitely not when my daughters are there.
So this goes out to anyone that has made comments of a bad experience, I suggest you try again. Maybe you were having a bad day. And for those that want men around go to the department stores where they don??t know how to do a fitting, have higher prices and no customer service since no one is ever around. Good luck with that.
Just wanted to set the record straight! Ladies this is the place to go.

Cons: Can get busy at times

I have been going to Anns shop for about 5 years, the service is very good although there are time when she is so busy that you have to wait a while for service. All and all I am very pleased with the service.

Pros: great fitting

Cons: she as moved and still cramped

.

Crabby and short tempered help with NO idea about customer service. Sell what's in stock and don't listen to customer wants. Rude and just mean. I walked out after 45 min with no purchases.

Crabby and short tempered help with NO idea about customer service. Sell what's in stock and don't listen to customer wants. Rude and just mean. I walked out after 45 min with no purchases.

.

I've been to Ann's twice now, and I hope I can save you the frustration and money by saying DONT GO. My two experiences left me feeling like the negative reviewers here got it spot on and wondering if the positive reviews on here are written by Ann's Mom.
My first experience: After waiting 30 minutes for help and telling them I specifically wanted a seamless bra, they talked me in to (a granted, prettier) bra with seams by telling me after I washed it once or twice the seams wouldn't show. Shame on me for listening to their non-sense! I have an $85 bra I can only wear everyonce in a while because it is very seamFULL. I can also attest to what the other reviewers have said about shopping with them online/via mail. One of the bras I wanted wasn't in stock and it took forever to get it by mail. When I called to ask about it the customer service was non-existant. Then, the day after I was in the shop someone who knows the owner and I (small world I guess) mentioned he knew I was there. That creeped me out! And they have a sign on the door about no cell phone use in the shop due to HIPAA (privacy). Whatever! Privacy my a$$. Which brings me to my next experience. What was I thinking?......

Vist number two: I was there specifically to look at swimwear. I found 5 suits I wanted to try on and headed to the dressing room. Much to my dismay, the dressing room curtains don't close all the way. And not just by a little. After fighting with the curtain for as much privacy as I could find, I tried on the first one and then tried to find my husband to ask his opinion. Apparently, they told him he had to stand all the way on the other side of the shop by the front door since there were other women trying things on. Hello?! That wouldn't be an issue if me and all your customers didn't have to look and feel like bad strippers being in dressing rooms that expose us to everyone who walks in! I'm no prude, but that left me with a seriously icky feeling. I went back to the fitting room and asked for help with something but the music over the fitting room was so loud no one could hear me. Husband included. By this time I was so frustrated, I didn't even care that I liked the suit I did try on. I had no interest in getting mostly naked in a funky smelling shop with my fellow shoppers and a staff that didn't say a single word to me the 30 or so minutes I was in the shop. In fact, the only person I did hear a staff member speak to, did so rudely. I was so turned off by my experience there was no way I was going to hand my money over in this shop. Not that day or ever again.

To the reviewer who mentioned they aren't supportive of long term nursing (shame on them) and anyone else who needs a nursing bra: GO TO KANGAROO KIDS. Now thats a helpful staff who will support you in your needs and goals. I got measured there when I was nursing for a perfect fit. I also got measured there again after nursing so I knew what a proper fit would be and now I can go anywhere and pay HALF of what Ann's charges, in a place that will value my privacy, my business and doesn't smell funny.

The only reason I'm rating them with one star is because I'm not allowed to rate it with ZERO stars. I'm seriously left wondering how these people are still in business....

Pros: So they know how to use a tape measure. Big deal.

Cons: Service, PRIVACY, smell, PRICE, wait time, everything else

I was in the store and purchased 4 bras, taking two home and the other two were to be mailed shortly. When I did receive one by mail, it was the wrong size. Along with returning that one, I had to send back one
I originally took home because the underwire became exposed after only being worn three times. It has now been SIX weeks and I have not seen the repaired bra, a bra to replace the one sent in the wrong size, or the one that is STILL on order! After several calls, I'm now being told they will call the supplier to find out when it will arrive. It seems the saleswoman would have taken the initiative and called weeks ago. I will NOT be a return customer after such worthless service!!

I had high expectations for ann's based on the reviews and billboards. I was absolutely disappointed. The experience was awful. The lady barked at me to sign in before I would be waited on. She then gave my niece a good fitted bra, but it headed downhill from there. This being an uncomfortable situation for a 16 year old girl, it turned out to be a traumatic experience. The lady gave her bras with oversized cups, then left us for over 30 minutes while my niece was waiting in the fitting room. When I went to get the the saleslady, she ordered me back to the fitting room area, while she laughed, chatted and carried on with another customer. Finally, I told my niece to get dressed and we left. The lady was RUDE, and VERY CRUDE. She made a racially insensitive joke about the "people who make the bras in China." I walked out of the store and drove down to Chesterfield mall and spent $300 for bras at Dillards. I tried to call and speak to the manager two days later, it turned out my saleslady WAS THE MANAGER. She did not even want to validate her behavior during this encounter. She cut off the coversation and thanked me for calling. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! I will discourage anyone from going there. The owners need to seriosly look at their staff and customer service.

Pros: in a strip shopping center and on Olive Blvd.

Cons: Awful sales staff, awful styles, very poor service, unwelcoming to young clients

It was like one week before prom and I had just found the perfect dress... The only problem was, I didn't have a bra to wear underneath it... My mom had heard good things about Ann's, so we headed there... As soon as we got in a lady greeted us and had me explain my situation... I got into a dressing room right away and put my dress on to try with the bras. We tried a couple and then she was really honest and said that I didn't need one with the dress I would be wearing... She fixed my dress for me and it looked great even though I didn't end up buying anything they were extremely helpful...

Pros: great customer service

Cons: pricey

The shop is old fashioned looking, not slick like Victoria's secret. The dressing rooms are cramped and offer little privacy. I am slim but tall and the woman helping me and myself where in very close quarters. All this aside the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I went in a 36B came out a 34D in the most comfortable bra ever!! While pricey, no more so than at a department store. Not a store you want to browse in, but if you go in with what you want I think the staff will be able to help you.

I heard about Ann's from my hair stylist. She went in for a bra fitting and told me that they work with women who have had masectomies and did a fabulous job correctly fitting a woman for a bra.
About a year later I decided that I'd give it a try. The associate that worked with me was very professional and did an exceptional job fitting me for my "correct" bra size. When I walked into Ann's I was wearing a 34B...when I walked out, I was wearing a 32D. The associate explained why I was wearing the wrong bra size and the mistakes that most women make when fitting themselves for a bra. As much as I love Victoria's Secret...they don't know what they are doing when it comes to fitting a woman properly for a bra.
Now that I know my correct size I can purchase bras anywhere and I feel so much more comfortable wearing the correct size.

Ordering online with these people is a miserable experience. Their website doesn't work properly, and if you try to e-mail them, your e-mails get sent back to you because it says: "mailbox is too full". The staff can't help you over the phone after you try to find out what happned to your order because "the girl who handles Internet orders is not in today". (Lousy excuse) They are very unprofessional and do not cater to the online customer in any way. My order couldn't be filled because the item was no longer in stock or being manufactured, yet they still list it on their website and haven't taken it off yet. I asked to replace it with a substitute in stock and she said they didn't carry it, they would have to "special order it". (it wasn't a 'rare' item.) I haven't heard anything back from them after two weeks and I still can't get answers from the staff working there on a Saturday. Apparently, Internet Phone Order Girl only works M-F. I will NOT be ordering from Ann's Bra Shop ever again. There are far better customer-oriented websites to order plus sized undergarments from.

When I was 6 months pregnant, I went in looking for nursing bras. I mentioned to the sales girl that I really wanted good bras as I had nursed my son for a couple of years. The sales girl argued with me very loudly with me about the fact that I had nursed my son past the age of 1. She would not stop going on and on about how it was "weird," despite my attempts to just change the subject and get on with looking at bras. I finally had to just leave without buying anything just to get her to shut up.

I sent a letter to the shop outlining the incident and received no response whatsoever. So I am assuming that either her views on nursing are shared by the company or the company does not care about its customers.

They went out of their way to help me! I was being released from the hospital and my newborn was being transfered to a children's hospital. I needed to be fitted for nursing bras and to rent a breastpump since I would be away from my baby at night. We called from the hospital and could not get there before they were scheduled to close. They not only had everything ready when I got there and took the time to fit me, but they even stayed 25 minutes after they were supposed to close just to help me. The nursing bras were more than at other stores, but they were the most comfortable and in my opinion, worth every penny. Their kindness was overwhelming to a very scared young mom!

Very expensive and very poor service. I have tried three times and only one of my experiences was acceptable. The place smells like cigarette smoke and there were waits that seemed to be an hour long. They offer a great selection and professional measuring; however, I will be finding another place to shop.
