The surgery went very well. I can see 20/15 in both eyes 1 week after surgery. Don't believe the negative reviews you see on here. You can tell they are fake because some of them are exactly the same wording, but posted by different "users". My guess would be a competitor.

The staff was very professional and the surgery was worth every penny. I would highly recommend getting LASIK at Kleiman Evangelista. Dr. Evangelista did my surgery and talked me through the whole thing, making me feel much more relaxed than anticipated. Thanks so much!!

I went to David Kleiman after hearing advertising that was completely false. The advertising said a price that was at least half of what they wanted from me after going there for an exam. There is nothing special about the lasik I need and they are complete liars, yes Dr. David Kleiman is a liar. You can see through the whole process what they are up to and at the end they tell me the procedure is going to cost almost 5000 dollars after advertising less than half of that. David Kleiman is not a good doctor I hope other people will know what to do when they hear of him.

Dr David Kleiman??s negligence almost cost my wife her vision. In September 2009 David Kleiman told my wife that her eyes were as good as gold. She had retinal detachment in both eyes caused by diabetic retinopathy that takes decades to set in and not four weeks. We were most disappointed. As Patients we trust Doctors, should we not? I fell that at David Kleiman Laser center this is complete malpractice.

Like the review below me says: DON'T TRUST THESE BAD REVIEWS! If you see a review that says things like the staff was very rude or they had an awful experience you can throw it out the window!

I had HD intra-LASIK on Thursday 2/4/2010 and I had my screening exactly one week before that on 1/28/2010. During my screening every single question I asked was answered (and I brought about 3 pages of questions).

The most important thing you can do if you're considering LASIK is to do your research. Find out what you should ask. There are plenty of good websites to visit that tell you what you should know and what questions you should ask.

First of all you should definitely know that there are risks involved. Sometimes people are going to have bad side effects that don't go away like they're supposed to. It's extremely rare, but it does happen.

Before I ever committed to having the procedure at KE they had me watch a DVD which went over several of the most common side effects and risks of LASIK. The things that were discussed in this DVD are the same things that I had found on-line beforehand. That made a big difference to me that KE wasn't selling LASIK as a 100% guaranteed miracle. There are risks, and you have to weigh those and make a decision.

During the screening I did not meet Dr. Kleiman or Dr. Evangelista. I'd have to say that's the only thing that wasn't perfect. It would have been nice to hear directly from them that I was a good candidate, but I realized later why that's probably not realistic. I did however meet their Optometrist Dr. Tran, and he verified all of the tests that had been done by the staff.

On the day of my surgery I was there for about 15-20 minutes. That's not an exaggeration at all. The procedure was that fast. I had Dr. Evangelista, and he was excellent. He was very personable and friendly, and during the procedure he told me exactly what he was doing while he did it. The 15 minute operation time is also why it??s probably not realistic that they could meet every person who comes in for a consultation. I??m sure that they do these operations back to back throughout the day, and going back and forth with meeting people and doing operations isn??t feasible.

He asked me if I had any questions before and after the procedure (although I didn't because I had educated myself extensively beforehand). He told me everything that I should expect for that day before I came back in the following morning for my Post Op exam.

By the time I came in the next day I was already seeing 20/40. Dr. Evangelista personally checked my eyes to make sure the corneal flap was healing correctly.

But it??s not just the procedure that you have to worry about. You need to know that if something goes wrong your Dr. is willing to do what is best for your eyes. Here is my personal experience:

If you don't already know after you've had the procedure you have to wear protective goggles at night to make sure that you don't accidentally rub your eyes. I woke up in the middle of the night (the second night after surgery) to find that the goggles had come off and I was sleeping on my right eye. It was totally my fault that the goggles came off. I move around a lot when I sleep, and I didn??t make sure that they were tight enough to stay put.

So I tightened the goggles up and put them back on and then went back to sleep. The next day I was feeling some of the normal discomfort that??s 100% expected, but since I had been sleeping on my eye the night before without the protective goggles and had most likely rubbed it I decided to call Dr. Evangelista on his cell phone to see what he thought.

This was on Saturday 2/6/2010. The KE eye center was closed, but he still insisted that I come in and meet him there so he could check and make sure that no damage had happened. I felt bad to have him take time out of his day, but this is my eyes we??re talking about here so I was willing to feel a little bad to make sure that my eyes were ok.

He showed up and was just as friendly, courteous and concerned about my eyes as he had been during the procedure. He didn't try to rush me in and out. He looked at both of my eyes again and spent extra time checking the right eye (the one I had slept on). He also took the time to check my eyesight again (I'm seeing 20/25 by the way only two days after surgery).

I don??t care what you say; I highly doubt that you??d have some of the other popular LASIK surgeons in DFW coming in when the center was closed to make sure that one person??s eyes were healthy.

I have been totally blown away by the professionalism, courtesy and attention to my care that I received at Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center. If you are considering getting LASIK the first thing you should do is research the procedure and the second thing you should do is call Kleiman-Evangelista.

My mom had lasik surgery in 2007 with Dr. Kleiman, so when I was getting ready to have it done at the end of 2009, I decided to check out online reviews of the Dr and his eye center. Just like you may have, I read all these awful reviews, stories and experiences of people who hate Dr. Kleiman and his staff. DO NOT BELIEVE THAT CRAP!!! Everyone at Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center are AWESOME!!!! They are the sweetest most friendly people on the planet. When I brought up all these awful online reviews, Dr. David Kleiman took me aside personally to address my concerns. There are alot of deceptive doctors in the Lasik arena, and with the business being so aggressive, there are some Doctors who are paying for slander of their competitors. To me, this is unbelievable that someone would go so far as to skew the reviews on this site that are meant to give YOU, the consumer, a REALISTIC view!!! I am a 25-year old who was holding back because I was afraid of the procedure, but Dr. Kleiman made me feel SO comfortable. He is not condescending or rude, if anything he is funny and made jokes with me during my procedure to make me feel less afraid. KenniLynn, the financial/scheduler for the office, even came in to the surgical room with me and held my hand since my mom could not go in with me. EVERYONE at the Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center are so kind and caring and I would DEFINITELY recommend them to ANYONE I know!! My wait at their office was never longer than 15 minutes, they were upfront with all issues or concerns that might arise from the procedure, and I had several SEVERAL tests to determine any potential problems before they ever even offered me the option of going forward with the Lasik procedure. If you are concerned about anything you read on these review sites, go and meet him in person!!! I guarantee the staff there will be glad to show you that they are as awesome as I have described here. I am only 6 hours out of my lasik procedure on 1/29/10 and I am beyond words with excitement about how well I am already seeing, and glad to be able to put down all the crap reviews I read that scared me into waiting so long!!! =) --- Ashley S

Pros: Professional, Kind, Caring, Well-priced

Cons: Far drive from my home

I visited David Kleiman Eye Center to possibly have lasik Vision Correction. I spoke with David Kleiman on the phone and set up an appointment. He told me over the phone that all I would need was 120 dollars down and I could get my vision correction. I had the exam done and at the end of the exam they ran my credit card and then told me I would need 2000 dollars down. I refused the surgery because of the false promises I was made over the phone. They told me they would refund me or give me a credit at the eyeglass place to get glasses or contacts. I chose to receive a full refund. Dr. David Kleiman sent me a receipt for the refund on my card and told me I was all set. Later I found out they took the money out of my account anyways which over drew my bank account. I called them and asked them why they debited my account and they told me that my refund would take 7 days to receive, well this DID NOT happen.

In my opinion Dr David Kleiman should not be called a doctor of medicine! What he did to me I consider to be criminal! I trusted David Kleiman to do a very simple procedure, and I've suffered every since! I've been to many other doctors since and they have all told me that what this man did to me cannot be reversed! Too much tissue and nerve damage! He told me he was Board Certified in plastic surgery, since then I checked and learned he lied to me about that too! He is not Board Certified in Plastic Surgery! The David Kleiman Laser Center is a FAKE!!!

About 1 hour after Dr David Kleiman performed Lasik surgery on me, a disastrous operation wich shows his incompetence, I couldn't even open my eyes and they were tearing profusely because . I kept trying over and over again to sleep it off, but I kept waking up because of the pain. After the first 30 days, my eyesight started getting worse. It still wasn't as bad as it started out as (I had -4.75 prescription prior and it was now -.75). It wasn't so bad that I needed a legal prescription to drive, but I couldn't really see in dim or dark areas. If I drive at night I really need the contacts. During the day, I just can't see street signs until it are too late. I don't recommend going to David Kleiman for an operation, his employees at David Kleiman Eye Center are very rude and his skills need improvement.

Dr David Kleiman is the worst doctor ever. The staff at David Kleiman laser center is the rudest I have ever talked to. David Kleiman needs to open his eyes (or have them checked by another eye doctor) as he is blind at what he is putting his patients through. Doctors like this should automatically have their license taken away even if they are clinically sound.

Dr. Kleiman was rude and unhelpful! It was my first time going to the eye doctor
and he got really frustrated with me. I felt unhappy with the results, so I had a second opinion. Thank god my eyes are fine I didn??t have a astigmatism nor was I farsighted? Hello if I would have listen to him I would have been blind!

Dr. Kleiman makes you wait for hours and then he talks on the phone all the time . You wait and wait and he doesn't know anything to do for your eyes. He never exams your eyes. He just talked to my husband.

Dr. Kleiman did not listen to me at all. I told him my symptoms (light flashes and numerous black spots in vision) and he asked if I had a psychiatrist... Excuse me? What kind of a question is that? He then told me to come back in if I started to see a bunch of black spots in my vision... wait... didn't I just tell him that was my problem. This doctor is a waste of time and money, and is the second ophthalmologist that I have seen at this clinic (Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center). Both doctors had poor bedside manners and really did not seem that knowledgeable. Sadly, they are the only ophthalmology clinic in town. I would rather travel hundreds of miles to see another eye doctor than to suffer through seeing Dr. Kleiman.

You have to wait for 2 hours to see Dr. David Kleiman and then he does nothing just talks to you. No examination at all. He never looked at my eyes.

I was afraid to have LASIK until I met Dr. Kleiman. Now I'm happy with the procedure and wish I would have done this sooner.

Dr. David Kleiman is short with patients and treats them disrespectful. Very full of himself and not seems very knowledgeable but could use a lesson in how to deal with patients facing difficult decisions.

After a 2 hour wait, Dr. Kleiman will spend approximately 5 minutes with the patient. During that time, will read over his notes, offering very little verbal information for the patient

Doctor Kleiman had his nurse document complaints that I did not have in order to get more money from the Insurance Company for my visit. I do not think this was very nice, to me or his staff. Dr Kleiman did not spend time regarding my actual reason for visit, instead, tried to make me take some kind of treatment for droopy eyelids and other things that I did NOT need. Dr David Kleiman seems to be more interested in getting money from insurance than in actually treating his patients.

Cons: he is using his patients, poor services

Staff did not want to submit my claim to the insurance company. Staff overbooks and had to wait over an hour to see the doctor for 2mins of care. He seems more interested in his appearance than in his patients. Not very knowledgeable.

Dr David Kleiman is extremely rude. When me and my husband went there for the first time he started dictating into his handheld machine. He didn??t introduced himself or even spoke to us. During the entire consultation Dr Kleiman was very impatient and arrogant. Didn't pay attention to or take seriously my husband's strange visual effects. When I ask him what was wrong he said my husband could go to any ophthalmologist. I would never take any of my family member back to Dr Kleiman and most certainly would never consider going to him myself. Dr David Kleiman needs to develop some manners, courtesy, sensitivity and respect for his patients and the patient's family. When he came in later he finally introduced himself but by that time I was completely put off and disgusted. Also, his staff couldn't seem to understand as to why my husband was there.
