Our son has a rare eye problem and we were referred to Dr. Arthur Rosenbaum from our Doctor at Casey Eye Institute in Oregon. We had taken him to the Eye Doctor since he was 6 months old and he had his first surgery with Dr. Rosenbaum in May 2008 since he diagnosed his problem accurately. The Doctor may not spend a lot of time explaining everything he is doing but he is very busy with all of his many patients that is trying to help.

Children do wake up from the surgery scared but the nurses are there in the post operating room to assist with the waking up of the child. It is normal for a child to wakeup scared from the all the drugs. The Anaesthesiologist is in the post operating room to assist with the recover too. Dr. Rosenbaum is usually performing another operation while the child is waking up.

I am so glad we found the Jules Stein Eye Institute and Dr. Rosenbaum.

When my daughter was diagnosed with strabismus at age 2 1/2, it was quite a blow. We were referred to Dr. Rosenbaum, who ended up doing surgery on her. He said he was confident that that was all she needed for surgery, but he was wrong. Not only did we not appreciate how he handled things after the surgery, he was also very impatient with our 2 1/2 year old when she was scared to see him because of what he put her through. He had no patience for someone so young. He may be a good surgeon, but not for children!
