I am in my mid-thirties and have had three children. Since having my first, 13 years ago my stomach was ruined. I was not one of the lucky ones with nice stretchy rebounding skin. When I was 40 wks pregnant I weighed 215 . I had my third child two years ago. After I finally lost all the weight (I'm now about 132) my stomach was gross. My skin had stretched alot, 215 to 132 is a big difference. My stomach did not have alot of fat, but there was so much sagging skin. Most of my problem was below the belly button. The upper part of my abdomin was always pretty good. Being that my top half was sorta tight I didn't have enough loose skin there to pull down, Dr. Shecktman therefore did not recommend a full tummy tuck (I was happy about that). Five days ago I had a modified tummy tuck. The first couple days were very painful (it hurt to do anything) but by the third day I felt much better. My surgery was on a Wednesday, by Saturday I was able to drive, I even went to Old Navy to grab myself an inexpensive skirt just because it is difficult to wear the skirt- girdle compression thing with shorts. Sunday, I felt even better, almost back to myself. Basically, by that point the only pain was if I coughed. Today was my last day off from work, so I spent it vacuuming and washing my floors. In the afternooon as my 2yr. old napped I tossed on my bikini top and soaked up some rays in the backyard (with sunblock of course). I even took off my sexy mini-skirt compression garment for a tad bit (covering my incision as to not expose it to the sun). My experience so far with Dr. Shecktman and his staff has been great. The patient coodinator Diane is really nice and the other lady that was there both times that I was, Kathy she is great too. She and the anesthesiologist made me feel so comfortable when they were preparing me for surgery. Still keeping it very professional they joked with one another just a bit, keeping me involved with their friendly banter, then easing me into my very happy place. Then I woke up with the soon to be belly I've been wanting back for almost 14 years. Now in my fifth day of recovery my belly looks good so far. I know it will continue to get even better but so far I am happy with what I see. It is hard to tell with the tape still on, pulling stuff in weird ways but I think it's going to be good. The recovery time was just as they told me it would be. Five to seven days, here we are day 5 and I am good to go! Honestly I could have worked today but that's beetween me and you.

I went to this doctor to get a tummy tuck in Feb 09. i was referred by a finance company, so i didnt really research him too much.
I wanted to tighten the abs since pregnancy gave me loose skin and stretch marks. I have never been overweight, i am 5' 2" and about 125lbs. i am petite so about a size 1.
I just felt uncomfortable with myself and wanted to do it for myself, no one else.
i am VERY DISAPPOINTED with the results.. I have the biggest scar that is not only hip to hip, but also an inch wide at certain points. it is uneven, discolored, and I am ashamed of it.
The first time I took a shower I looked down and my belly button was noticeably to the left, but I thought with time, it would heal in the middle.. IT HAS NOT. I have a crooked fake looking belly button.
It also made the outline of my body much different. I have these side pockets that look like fat, but are not, its just skin. So when I wear jeans my sides hang over and i have a flat stomach but a muffin top that I never had before.
The pain was unbelievable.. i told him i was taking 7 days out of work and he told me that was plenty of time.. HA! I was out for over a month UNPAID because of this. i couldnt walk; I had to sleep in a chair because I couldnt get out of bed by myself.
I've seen so many good results out there and Im stuck with botched surgery by Dr Shektman.
If you're looking for a tummy tuck, go elsewhere
