Dr. Ashworth recommended my 2 year old go into the hospital, go under anestesia and have a catscan for a possible tumor or anyuerism. The few days before my husband and I were very nervous, had concerns and questions. She refused to call us back and get on the phone with us. We had one appointment with her regarding this matter and would not even once spend a moment on the phone or email. She told the nurse that we could make another "consultation" appointment if we had questions. She has been cold hearted with aweful bedside manners since the day we met her. She is all about the $ and it shows. She was voted best pediatrician....she is political and knows how to schmooze the right people. Her heart is not in the right place.Staff could care less they had me sit it a room for 45 minutes with my 1 yr old wrecking havoc. No one brought in a toy or tried to give him a sticker..no help whatsoever. Before we left I noticed a drawer in the room full of toys. Why wouldn't someone have clued me in on this?

unless you see her Nurse Practitioner, who is excellent. We originally went to see her because she was voted a Top Doctor in Texas, but I don't think they included bedside manner in their criteria. She may be a very intelligent and competent doctor, but she belittled our family and we no longer take our son there.

She's always in a rush, my kid doesn't like her much, but she likes her nurse practitioners. So now whenever I make an appointment, I'd ask for one of the nurse practitioners. The 2 NPs have kids my kid's age, so it's easier to talk to them, and they're not in a rush. What I don't like about this place is that their accounting staff is useless. They don't know what they're doing at all, they like to overcharge people. But one good thing is that when you ask for a sample of something, they normally would give it to you.
