Vimi Bajaj imposes her personal beliefs on to her patients. When I asked her about my options for birth control, she proceeded to tell me that she does not believe in hormonal birth control, so she would not prescribe me anything. I've been to her office once, and I will never go back.

I changed my doctor after my first prenatal visit because I would not go to one that does not has an ultrasound machine in the office to confirm pregnancy. This is 2009 and this is USA and this is one of the basic equipment that you should have!

It pains me a lot to write this review as I would have liked nothing better to write that I had a good delivery experience. But unfortunately that was not the case. My pregnancy visit with Vimi Bajaj were normal and while I was surprised at the lack of some facilities, I found she
to be friendly and ofcourse easy appointment because she has so few patients. Although I was warned by one of my friends about her, I was too lazy to shift during my pregnancy

Unfortunately as i discovered later the reason for few patients was her knowledge. My experience was nothing short of horrible and while physically I have healed, my emotional wounds are still too raw after my last birth experience. The way my faith in her was rewarded has made me scary about the medical community in general and am still trying to gain enough courage to plan a pregnancy 3 years after my initial ordeal.

I had not known such places exist but now that I do , I consider this my duty to warn others about her poor medical knowledge. Birth is a beautiful process and often needs no medical knowledge to get through but if you are the one who does require special care, she is not capable enough of providing it with her narrow views and shallow values. And if I can help protect others from similar fate, that would be my healing.....Blessing and god save.

I had some minor fibroids to which she immediately suggested hyterectomy and surgery. Any concern of mine was faced with a remark that 'You seem to know everything'.

I was told that this is the usual procedure. I took second opinion from one more doctor and with the size of my fibroids, surgery was never needed. He suggested that although I am over childbearing he does not wants me to go through unnecessary surgery.

And I agree about her office staff and facilities. Hers is definitely the first office with no nurse and one receptionsit running around and indeed there were open urine samples in the toliet. Eeks!

I think people dont write negative comments to demean somebody. It is there heartfelt frustration over being incorrectly diagnosed and being saved from some surgery. I would never ever expect anyone to undergo surgery and get there organ removed even if everything wents in an uncomplicated fashion because it still was a surgery and your anatomy is distorted for ever!!

For the number of patients she sees(I think she operates only 8-10 hrs a week) and waiting room was empty when I was there......she has so many reviews.......I think you'll be at either end of spectrum and trust me, avoid this one. You dont want to be on the wrong end......There are plenty of doctors and while they may be not north indian and have waiting times, better safe then sorry!!. This is from the heart of someone who has lived it all and just got saved from the grace of god....

I had an hysterectomy performed by Dr. Bajaj a few months ago. Then the other day I recomended her to a friend, and she called me to tell me about these ugly reviews found on the internet.
I want to say that my hysterectomy went better than I would have expected, no complications at all, and eventhough I waited about a year after being diagnosed with fybroids, Dr Bajaj never pushed me to have surgery. She gave me her recomendations but always said it was my decision. She was very caring and profesional before and after surgery and I guess she did a good job during surgery (of course I was sleeping) because as I said there were no complications.
I do not understand what is wrong with a Dr. running other business at the same time, that shows that she is a very smart and active person, not that she is a bad Dr. Im sorry for the patients that did not have a good experience while under her care, I guess nothing is 100 % perfect.

Ok, so went to her office since was new and was disgusted by the entire attitude of her and her staff. And googling her name showed me that she runs clothing companies and is not good enough to be a doctor. http://www.manta.com/coms2/dnbcompany_h67tgk
Shop around, I am glad I ran before i get pregnant something reinforced by reviews written here.

We had a miserable experience with her for my first delivery. I initially selected her for small office size and her office schedule. I repent that decision dearly? You would expect an OB doctor to show some enthusiasm or be comforting in this situation. NON-SHOWN, NO EXISTED. Technology is a joke at this practice. (No ultrasound machine ?? just one of those cheap heartbeat hearing machine that anyone can buy and use). To add to that poor service at the front desk. (No people skills, no follow-up calls etc?). I don't want to get into the medical complication I had at the time of my delivery. Selecting and having a right OB for your pregnancy is very important. I recommend you shop around (several practices in Naperville will let you talk to the office manager or doctor before you decide). Schedule informal visit, see the clinic and talk to the front desk. I did that this time around and I am much happy with my current OB!!!

Unusual is how I describe my visit to Dr bajaj's office. My first child was born in AZ so I was not new to ob offices. To begin with me and my husband were the only person in the waiting room. Then her receptionist ushered her in, mind you no nurses. And then she walked in to take BP. In the middle phone rang and she ran out to attend. Next walked in Dr Bajaj. She seemed nice and funny and we talked. I started talking about my expectations and her answers about delivery were all elusive. I asked her about some other medications I was on and how they would affect the pregnancy and she said that she is not sure and I should ask doctor who prescribed those. I am sure I would find something nice and funny non ob related to talk to her but her medical acumen and knowledge leaves a lot to be desired.I wouldn't trust my fetal health with her

My wife Prachi is an extremely intelligent and talented software engg and is very healthy, active and smart. But when it came to pregnancy she wanted punjabi female doctor and thus chose Dr Bajaj by looking up names on website. I did not agreed but acceded to her wishes as she was to bear the child.

I have watched with shock and horror and experienced the fear of loosing my baby and than my wife . Vimi Bajaj is an extremely intervention happy doctor with high rate of c sections and inductions. Even the commentator who left a good comment was induced and its not uncommon for inductions to go over 2-3 days.

She administered my wife coumadin which is even a contraindication for tooth extraction after her c section. She suffered from depression and could not walk properly for months after her hospital ordeal. Her c section scar (Completely unnecessary had the doctor been proactive in determining amniotic fluid levels) was left open with no stitches and staples and I was packing it with clean gauge daily morning and evening while we both were trying to take care of our newborn baby. We generally never leave any negative comments on this site but I do not wish anyone, even my wildest enemy to go through the same ordeal that we had and urge you to stay away from this establishment and Dr Bajaj.

The shocking experience and treatment by vimi bajaj following the birth of my son has filled us boh up with dread and scare about visiting any medical establishment and doctor

I have not had a good experience with Dr Bajaj. Being a cautious person by nature I visited three doctors when choosing providers. Her office was the worst.

The equipments are outdated and the staff inadequate. Also there is no sonogram facilities available in office. She was also not able to answer any of my questions about genetic testing and said that its not her speciality. When asked about her c section rate she gave a round about answer. I wont recommend her. The other two doctors, Dr rajendran and Dr Jensen office were better. I would choose Vimi Bajaj as last resort.

Dr. Bajaj was my doctor through out my pregnancy; I am a kind of person who scares by just the thought of going to the doctor; but she from day one gave me so much comfort and confidence that i enjoyed visiting her for my follow-ups; she is a knowledgeable doctor and a wonderful person, she used her due diligence throughout and during my last week of pregnancy induced me as i was showing signs of preeclampsia, it took long 36 hrs for my baby to come out; I think some other doctor would have went for C-section because of the time it was taking; my husband and me were getting impatient but she was patient enough and took all intelligent efforts and supported us to deliver a normal healthy baby; I am myself doing fine, no problems after delivery.I highly recommend her...

If you are looking for a medical provider because you want a female Indian doctor then please think again. I wouldn??t recommend Dr Bajaj even for low risk normal pregnancies. Though Both me and my son are doing ok now, we both had come close to loosing our lives due to her negligence and don??t care attitude.

While It is true that things can go wrong anytime, my injuries were direct result of negligence and wrong medications administered to me by my ob Dr Vimi Bajaj at Edward Hospital in Naperville. My experience and journey after my emergency c section are detailed on my blog 'http://coumadinbirth.blogspot.com

I am a 28 year old Software engg, in excellent health and with a picture perfect life with lots of good family, career and friends based in Bolingbrook
aperville area. I will be pleased to offer more help if needed. I can be reached on pmaini@gmail.com.

Her ofifce and she is a circus. not real doctors.
1. No ultrasound, a cheap heartbeat recorder.
2. No nurse. A single stuff that runs around.
3. No wipes for pee sample
4. Pee is left on bathroom open with other people pee around. At other ob offices it is atleast stored in a closed box.

All you get is interventions, lots of unnecessary referrals to other doctors, long inductions and unnecessary c sections. Stay away.....

She has been my gynec doc for the past 2 years. She has followed up on all of my gynec issues and also delivered my baby. She was really good at tracking the pregnancy and is very careful if you have even minor complications. also recommends you to good specialists if you need it. She is a really friendly person, and you can go ahead and ask her any questions you might have. Very happy with her.

PROS: Friendly, very cautious
CONS: a bit absent minded with ur history but fortunately writes everything down
