I went to see Dr. Beer of Balfour Dermatology for two separate skin issues. We discussed the first, and he offered to do some sort of procedure that may or may not have been covered under insurance (he couldn't tell me). When I declined that treatment after telling him that I wanted to be fiscally responsible by checking with my insurance company first, the appointment went downhill. As soon as I declined the treatment, he seemed to not care about my second issue and made it seem as though all he really wants to do is make money. When I mentioned that I wanted him to look at my itchy rashes (the second issue), he glanced at one for 10 seconds and ultimately gave me a prescription for a cream, while at the same time, it seemed like he was rushing to end my visit and get me out of his office. When I filled the prescription, I realized he had given me a prescription for a non-generic cream, something that my insurance will not cover. I then had to jump through a few hoops in order to get a generic equivalent. In this day and age of crazy insurance rules, why would a doctor automatically prescribe a non-generic without first asking the patient? At least mention that fact! The office finally called in the prescription to my pharmacy and I was given the equivalent cream. After 3+ weeks of use as directed, my itchy rashes remain, while more have developed. I have no idea if the non-generic would have served me better, but either way the whole ordeal has been extremely frustrating. This office visit was completely useless and a waste of time and I will not go back to someone who only seems to be interested in performing expensive procedures.

Dr. Beer is extremely knowledgable and thorough with his treatment of skin cancers. He is trained in the Mohs technique, which is a bonus for us. His office is very nice and the staff are great also.

Dr.Beet is really a great dermatologist who diagnosed everything in a correct way and took the treatment. His office is VERY CLEAN, nice, very big, excellent front desk people, smiling doctor, supporting nurses, and so on. They have lof of modern instruments to check on everything and do the needful. Its a nice skin care clinic.
