The doctor did a wonderful job, and gave us a solution to the problem of the incision not healing. The problem came with the office staff. I had been told the first office visit would be between $50 and $100, depending on what was done. When we came out from seeing the doctor, the receptionist charged $622. When I objected to that, and reminded her I had been told $50-$100, she said that's what the code was for what the doctor had done, which was wipe a q-tip loaded with silver nitrate with one swipe on the incision. The original doctor charges $44 each time for that exact same issue. If they had said $50 for the initial visit, and $44 for the swipe, that would have been somewhat better. I asked to speak with the doctor again, and instead, she got her supervisor, who spoke with the doctor. His reply to her was that he didn't realize that code charged so much. The code apparently was some surgical procedure. He then said to just charge the office fee. Well, if you remember, the office fee quoted to me was $50-$100. They charged me $178. So, still almost double of the maximum original figure. I WOULD NOT GO BACK TO THIS DOCTOR BECAUSE OF THE OFFICE STAFF. Maybe they need more training? I don't know - I just know I don't like being told one thing, and then being WAY, WAY OVERCHARGED!!!
