My family is so very fortunate to have Dr.Boris Ratiner as our physician. He never rushes his patients through their appointments. The doctors that referred us to Dr. Ratiner told us that he is the physician that their families use. The staff at Dr. Ratiner's office also deserves a five star rating. Everyone is kind, compassionate and wanting what is best for the patient.
Dr. Ratiner is always on the cutting edge of what is currently going on with medicine.

This guy is a fraud and a thief. He stole $350.00 from my Visa account and I never even saw him.

I sued him in court and won but I guess he thinks he can ignore our court system too. He still refuses to give me my money back.

He's a real jerk and so is his office manager, Diana. Watch out for this guy.

I just moved to the LA area for family reasons and had to find a new Rheumatologist out here. That was scary, I'd been doing so well back east, but all that fear was relieved after my first visit to Dr. Ratiner at Rheumatology Therapeutics Medical Center. He actually listened to me and didn't just assume he know what was best for me. We have pretty much kept on course with my previous rheumatologists treatment plan, and it was ok with him. That shows me that Dr. Ratiner is open minded and very practical. No pride, no nonsense. I really appreciate that I was lucky enough to find Dr. Ratiner right away.

Dr. Ratiner is a remarkably wonderful. His bedside manner is by far the best of all Rheumatologists I have gone to, and over the years, I have gone to many. He listened closely to what I told him and respected that I knew my own body. He did not treat me like just another number, or just another lab rat. Dr. Ratiner is an amazing human being.

I saw another rheumatologist for over 1 year without any clear diagnosis or treatment plan. Dr. Ratiner came to a clear diagnosis and treatment plan quickly. Office is easy to access, clean and comfortable. Very efficient. Be on time and they see you on time. Contrary to another patient comment, I found everyone in the office to be polite and caring. It is true they ask you to pay your deductible and/or co-pay first but that means you don't have to deal with any bills or statements later.

ThiPlease avoid this doctor. There are so many people out there suffering in pain from different deseases and need special care, and they do not deserve to be treated the way I was treated. First of all, this place is about the cash. You feel it when you get in there. They absolutely do not care about your situation. I think in health care, caring about the patient is key to healing. Rather than having stress and tears after you leave an office visit and feeling much worse later.
I am not saying the Doctor isnt skilled. He may be, but he isnt some special doctor heaven sent to help the people who desperately need him. In other words, there is nothing about him that you couldnt find somewhere else. He is a rheumatologist and knows what to prescribe and what to diagnose. Just like many other doctors would be able to do. He has a great location and there arent many other Rheumatologists in his area so that I believe is the only reason he sees so many people. He is cold, and will not hesitate to charge you hundreds of extra dollars if he could. Please read the reviews carefully before going here.
Second, the staff...oh the staff. As you may have read in other reviews, if you are reading this now..they are horrible.
Sofia is a very rude person. The coldest office manager I have ever encountered. If you plan to still see this doctor, you will see what I mean first hand. Maybe not right away, but eventually you will see what I am saying. Trust me.
I have been a medical assistant and office manager for two years and I have never seen anyone with a heart behave like her. Whilst I was in the small room waiting for the doctor, I overheard another patient arguing with her. It was very loud, and whoever the patient was- she was ticked off to the max.
It is clear that she must deal with arguments with patients regularly- again please read around on the internet and see the reviews.
The other girls in the offcie are not very nice either, very cold. I read another review saying that this office hates Americans - well, I dont know about that, but you will definitely hear alot of Russian while you are there.
I am Russian and can understand the language, and I will say that they probably would favor someone who is familiar with their culture vs. an American who doesnt speak the language. but then again, I too had a horrid experience that left me in tears actually, which is embarassing to say since I am not one to cry, ever.
Lastly, I want to say that I would never write something like this unless I thought I was saving someone, somewhere a heartache of some sort. If you are needing a rheumatologist, then you probably have a condition that causes you pain somehow and I know first hand how it is to be stressed, scared, in need of help. I honestly couldnt believe how rude they were there. I was very dissapointed. It was truly that bad of an exoerience that I must urge others to find a more caring Doctor and an office environment that has better energy for your health.

Staff is rude, his "bedside manner" is appalling.
Really arrogant guy. Insensitive. Answered no questions of mine. Worse off, he was very rude.
Horrible.
I also caught them overcharging me, and when I let them know about it, his wife, who ran the office, was very rude.
All she cared about was every extra cent she could try to extract from me.
It was bizarre.
And who do you complain to when the guy's office is run by his wife?
It was just strange.

First time I ever walked into his office, he knew that moment what was wrong and prescribed me with what I needed. Now my gout rarely comes back if ever. I can't even remember the last time I had it.

I have been doctor Ratiner's patient for many years. He is very knowledgeble. I had Rheumatoid Arthritis for many years and know how painfull it could be. After the course of treatment that Dr.Ratiner prescribed me I feel much better and can do things that I couldn't do because of pain. If you need a great doctor-Dr.Ratiner is the one.

The Doctor is Great. Staff is Great too. Office manager, she is Terrible and Rude.

The office policies and regulations are to nickle and dime you for every little thing including getting doctor's approval letter/signatures, statements to file tax returns, name it. Their goal is leave you dry. They are also very slow in crediting your card for overbilling, you have to keep on it.

The Doctor is Great. The Office manager is Terrible and Rude, and the staff is so so ( was great previously). I guess the office manager's lousy attitude has extended to the staff.

Is a good doctor by itself enough, what about the ambience and the comfort of calling and interacting with the staff, isn't this part of a great doctor...

Pros: easy parking

Cons: very busy, took 3 weeks to get first appointment but worth the wait

I was told to take tests that I dont need and the P.T. department is run by the doctors wife. I was seen by the therapist, May, who was rude and impatient during my first visit. I would suggest another facility that cares about the customers more than the money they are making.
