I tried 4 different chiropractors, 3 massage therapists, 2 acupuncture therapists, and a neuromuscular therapist...

Two days after my 27th birthday, May 12, I woke up unable to move my neck. In order to get out of bed, I used both hands to hold my head and cried. I just thought I slept on it wrong. However, on May 4th I was Kart racing and I was hit at 40mph. At the time I didn't feel hurt until the 12th. I went to see my chiropractor the very next day because I was still in excruciating pain and my lower back and right leg were numb as well.

For 3 months straight, I went to this chiropractors office twice a week. The neck pain did subside, however the lower back pain and leg pain got worse and even became unbearable. It was extremely painful to sit for more the 20 minutes in the same position, which made it difficult to drive and very uncomfortable to do my job. I had a very difficult time living!

Although my chiropractor at the time was a trusted friend, I decided to seek other help. I went to my primary care physician who referred me to a well-known neurologist. I had X-rays and an MRI in November and a second MRI in January 2003, neither of which showed anything abnormal. My neurologist asked me if this was "real". I was hysterical because I was refusing medications, not asking for them.

I was desperate to find relief so I tried 4 different chiropractors, 3 massage therapists, 2 acupuncture therapists, and a neuromuscular therapist. I changed chairs and desks at work, I stopped working out, I read two books on relieving back pain that suggested it was all in my mind. At that point it had been 7 months of excruciating pain day and night. I became quick to anger and had a real hard time dealing with little decisions. After 5 counseling sessions, I realized the pain wasn't in my head it was VERY real. I decided from the first day of pain NOT to take drugs and by now I was reconsidering this.

I went back to my medical doctor for a sore throat in May 2003. He asked if I had ever found the cause of my back pain. I told him, "No, I guess I am just going to have to adapt and learn to live this way rather than let it consume me". Besides, even though I have insurance, which had covered thousands of dollars of medical expenses, I personally spent over $5,000 from my own pocket trying to fix the problem. My medical doctor then gave me Dr. Powell's phone number and told me, "You HAVE to call Dr. Powell". I was desperate and still willing to try anything.

I had my first appointment in May 2003 with Dr. Powell and I was shocked that I actually started feeling better that very week. I was amazed that after my third treatment I was able to sit and sleep through the night without pain for the first time in a whole year!

Life with chronic pain was dark, depressing, and hostile for my family, friends, co-workers, and myself. I was ruining friendships and relationships with others. My career suffered because I wasn't as friendly to my clients. I wasn't motivated to get out of bed. My spirituality suffered because the thought of sitting for more than 10 minutes made me cringe or even cry at times! I wasn't able to drive long distances so I was unable to visit my family. I was stuck at home most of the time outside of work. I had to reconsider going to school last semester because, again, I couldn't sit. So it pushed my college degree back another year. I wasn't able to work out or participate in the hobbies I had enjoyed before. I gained weight due to the inactivity and depression. I get tears in my eyes when I think about what life is now verses what it was back then.

Dr. Powell helped me get my life back. I am as healthy as I was before the accident. In fact, I am looking forward to the BAJA 1000 and the desert season! I continued to see Dr. Powell for a few more visits and the improvement continued to the point where, now I don't even really think about it because it is finally gone. I am grateful that my problem is now a thing of the past and I want to help others know about what a great help Dr. Powell has been to me by helping me get my life back. I would highly recommend Dr. Powell and his office to anyone.

Thank you!

My low back pain had flared up to the point where I could hardly move. After several visits to Dr. Powell I was able to get back to my normal life at work and at home. Since I started feeling better I have referred in several friends who have had great results as well. Thanks!

??I had bad migraines when I first came to see Dr. Powell. I wasn??t able to get any relief from the other doctors who had treated me so I gave Dr. Powell a shot. He found the cause of my problem in my neck, did some treatment, then the pain went away. It has helped me so much because the headaches were incapacitating before I came to Dr. Powell.

I went away to college to play volleyball and started to get pain in my shoulder blade. Then I started to get numbness and tingling going down my arm and into my hand. It was limiting me from playing because it was painful and made me feel weak. I saw the team trainers, therapist, chiropractor and medical doctors. They had me get an MRI and have some treatment including a cortisone shot which did nothing for the problem. They enrolled me in a special study because they could not figure out why I kept having these symptoms. During Christmas break I came home and went to see Dr. Powell again to see if he could help me. He did some Myofascial Release Treatment on my back, neck and shoulder then helped me with some exercises. That day I went to play volleyball and the numbness, tingling and pain were gone. I had several treatments over the next two weeks and continued to play without any problems. My life is so much better now because I can wake up in the morning without the pain and know that I will be able to play volleyball without any problems.
