My son's eyes were crossing before his 2nd birthday. Our pediatrician gave us a list of pediatric eye docs to choose from. We chose one close to home. He told us that nothing was wrong with our child's eyes. The pediatrician told us to get a 2nd opinion. That doctor told us that we needed to operate immediately (which freaked us out) and recommended the first doctor (who said nothing was wrong) to do the surgery. So, frustrated and scared, we went back to the pediatrician. She said that even though Dr. Cassidy was a far drive for us, she whole-heartedly recommended that we see him. It took a few months to get in, but it is totally worth the wait. He thoroughly examined our son and diagnosed him. Our first visit was over 3 hours long (with dilation, etc.). Dr. Cassidy spent at least 30 minutes examining my son and another 20-30 minutes just explaining to us what was wrong, what the treatment would involve, answering our questions, etc. We have been seeing Dr. Cassidy for more than four years. He has operated on our son's eyes, and he sees our son every few months for re-examination. We absolutely love and trust Dr. Cassidy and we have recommended him to many friends.

It takes a while to get an appointment with him, but it is worth it. The wait time in the office can be long at times, too, but I still think he is worth it. I'd rather have to wait a while for a great doctor than get right in to see an average doctor. Your child's eyes are important--and Dr. Cassidy is the best!

I made an appoint with Dr. Cassidy and it took 3 month to get it!!! Finally when i was there my son first he was prescreen by an assistant and check what was his condition, then an intern came in, and spend time with my son and made his diagnose.. Finally i was able to see Dr. Cassidy and he just say .. I agree with what the Intern Dignosed.. He didn't spend 3/ minutes with us....What kind of service is this .. I was so dissapointed I immediately look for another doctor, One that will spend time with the patient and do their JOB!!!! Definitely Do not waist your Time ... Unless you want to wait for 3/month to see an intern...
Sincerely..

Dr. Cassidy is a great clinician, he is gentle with the kids and very compassionate with both kids and parents. Excellent bedside manners. He will take the time to explain what is going on with your child, and will make sure you understand everything.
There's always a wait in the office, but that's because they take the time they need with every child and don't rush through patients, and that is in this day and age, very impressive!! so, I will wait as long as i need to to get the quality care my child deserves. I definitely recommend him.

I took my 18 month old (special needs) daughter to two different eye doctors before Dr. Cassidy was recommended to me. The previous two doctors gave me wildly different prognosis and treatment plans.

Dr. Cassidy saw my child on our first visit, and he prescribed glasses, whereas the other two doctors did not even tell me she she needed anything.

Dr. Cassidy's office does not have children's frames or lenses though, one must call their insurance company to find a place to have prescriptions filled. Even with that, it's well worth the effort if you're concerned about your child's vision.
