About 8 years ago I visited Dr. Moore for the first time when a close friend needed dental care. I went along for moral support. Due to my friend's extreme nervousness about visiting dentists (a bad experience with a suburban dental clinic), I was graciously allowed to be in the exam room. After observing Dr. Moore in action I was very impressed. Furthermore, my friend had a great visit and her dental care needs were more than met.

Fast forward a few years and I found myself in need of dental care. But, I was then living 450 miles away from Chicago in rural Wisconsin. The dentists in my area would not handle a root canal and wanted to send me to Duluth Minn. Since I would have to travel anyway, I decided to visit home and put in a visit to Dr. Moore. After a consultation, Dr. Moore began the root canal. After a second visit, my root canal and crown placement were completed.
Now this may sound strange to say, but except for a tiny period of pain, the entire procedure was very pleasant. Dr. Moore is very thorough in explaining what needs to be done and his patient's overall comfort and experience are very important to him. He made me feel very comfortable especially considering the reputation of root canals. And btw, my tooth was really messed up since I had been procrastinating for weeks to even get it looked at. I am a big sissy about pain and before my root canal have never had a good dental experience. That all changed when I visited Dr. Moore. I am now more aware of my dental needs and it's partly due to Dr. Moore's professionalism and skill as a dentist.
I also found out that Dr. Moore also teaches dentistry at a local school. I also found this to be appealing.
Finally, I have since recommended my Father, a sibling and a few close friends to Dr. Moore. All have been very satisfied and continue to visit him when needed.
I will always go to Dr. Moore for my dental needs (since moved back to Chicago) and will bring my daughter and wife as well if and when needed.
By the way, my tooth is still doing great!

I went to this dentist for 6-7 years. I can honestly attest that if there is anything going on orally within one's mouth that exceeds the need for a simple filling, forget it! You are dealing with very antiquated dental equipment, and you will likewise receive antiquated dental care. If there is a problem beyond a simple cleaning and/or filling, he will automatically send you to an oral surgeon. I think if you complained of a hang nail, he would recommend for you to go to an oral surgeon! I finally made the change to a more up-to-date dental office. On my very first consultation/examination visit there, I was told that a tooth was infected and overlooked by my old dentist whom I just had seen as late as July of this year. Now, this tooth must be pulled, necessitating me to take penicillun. The new dentist I have wasn't at all happy about this, although all things considered, I truly wasn't surprised myself. I've learned the hard way that if things seem to be too good to be true, they probably are, and you definitely get what you pay for.
