BEST DENTIST IN TOWN.....We love going to Briargate Pediatric Dentistry! I have four kids ranging in age from 5 months to 17 years old. Dr. Souza is hands down best in town for pediatric dental needs for children. I have been taking my four kids to his office for the past 12 years and I would not trust anyone else to care for my kids' dental needs.

The staff is exceptional and incredibly friendly.

Going to the dentists is made an enjoyable experience for my kids- my three year old loves her time at Dr. Souza's office. From the friendly, gentle dental exams to the 'end of visit' treat (each kid gets a quarter for the gumball toy machine) they always look forward to their dental exam. The care from start to finish is consistently exceptional - Dr. Souza always takes time to explain procedures, listens to questions and concerns and makes time for parents. As a parent I always feel welcome back in the exam room with my kids.

We're military as well and we've never had problems with insurance/United Concordia. Paying has never been a complication for us ever.

I always recommend Briargate Pediatric Dentistry as the best in town for kids dental needs.

Our experience has been an unpleasant one. First off the staff and dentist were not very understanding when my (just turned 3 year old) was hesitant to cooperate. At one point the dentist yelled at my son to open his mouth and to stop biting his "expensive tools". The staff did nothing to comfort him and make it a pleasant visit.
We have since switched dentists.
Also, confirm before going that they still participate with United Concordia Military. Supposibly you have to ask this at every visit otherwise you will receive a bill from the dental office and United Concordia will advise you that it is your responsibility to pay it.
Good luck!

Dr. Souza and his staff are exceptional. They make the visit to the dentist a pleasant thing for children. Our children would actually be disappointed when they'd receive the news that they had no cavities. Why? Well, because that meant they didn't get to see Dr. Souza and his staff for 6 months!

Dr. Souza is a professional who knows his business well. He is quite proactive in his approach. He has never recommended any unnecessary procedures. He explains everything he discovers during the examination before he does any treatment. He asks for our approval before he proceeds with any treatment. The prices are very reasonable. We feel we are a part of the process from start to finish...and not just there waiting in line to hand over a lot of cash while clueless as to what we just paid for.

The office staff welcome us by name when we come in. It feels like we are visiting friends. Each year, our kids receive a special birthday card and we get a Christmas card from them. They make us feel very comfortable...and it's not like they have to go out of their way to do it... It just comes naturally.

Our oldest is now 18 years old...and insists on continuing with Dr. Souza. It's not a wonder to us since Dr. Souza has been the kids' dentist for the last 7 years. The kids have trusted him since day one. Dr. Souza has been an excellent role model, too. Our oldest claims to have been influenced by Dr. Souza...and is now attending college... as a pre-med major!

We have no reservations in highly recommending Dr. Souza.

PROS: Great dentist for the children.
CONS:
