Having known and worked with Aaron Shay for the last few years I have the utmost confidence in saying that he is truly a talented therapist. Straying from the typical "Puff and Fluff" massage found at some spas, Aaron brings to the table a professional and complete knowledge of the body; and the underlying structures that are affecting your problem areas. Technique and skill along with a great professional demeanor, and a truly 'hearing' ear, allow for complete relaxation and sense of renewal after his sessions. I will continue to see Aaron, as well as spread the word about the fabulous treatment received!!
Thanks Aaron

I discovered Aaron Shay after calling a number of massage therapist and talking with them over the phone. Aaron was by far the most familiar with treatment for injuries. After speaking with him I felt confident that he knew his trade. I had been going to physical therapists for my shoulder injury resulting from a car accident, but gave up because of the associated pain. Since going to Aaron my shoulder has improved tremendously and unlike physical therapy, I actually look forward to my appointments. Thanks Aaron!

I have gone to about 6 massage therapists in my life and Aaron is the best. He listens to the client and is more knowledgable about my body than I am, and I am a nurse!!! He has helped me with my shoulder surgery recovery.

Aaron has the Midas touch. He knows how to unkink knotted muscles and almost turn back the hands of time. When your massage is over, you will feel as good as gold.

Aaron is outstanding. He listens well, responds to your needs, has an excellent touch, and can vary the pressure appropriately. I would recommend Aaron to anyone trying to recover from an injury, hoping to prevent injury, or just looking for a relaxing massage. Aaron has a knowledge of the muscular and structural aspects of the body beyond that of other massage therapists I've seen.

The first thing that I noticed about Aaron was his consciencious approach to my massage. He asked me about my concerns, and then, showed that he was listening, by talking to me about them, and what I thought I needed in a massage. Then he made some suggestions to what he thought could help and asked for my agreement to try his techiques. I agreed, and was greatful that I did. Aaron has got a healing gift, and a great sense of touch that seems to give you just the right amount of pressure, stretch, pull, etc...whatever you need. I am big on deep tissure massage, and Aaron can give that too, but I very much enjoyed the myofascial work, and it gave me great relief, and a sense of well being. As a fellow massage therapist I've recieved a lot of massages. Aaron has what you want in a great therapist....heart, soul, and great hands!
Oh, and by the way...he talked to me at the end of my massage, with no hurrry, to see how I liked it. He wanted to know what I liked, and what I didn't like. He explained why he did what he did, and asked what I wanted differently next time. It was nice to be listened to and considered in my own treatment.
I moved out of town, and was very sorry to leave Aaron's therapy behind.
Thanks Aaron

I received a splendid massage from Aaron Shay in February of this year. Aaron was actually the head therapist at Massage Envy, where I was also a co-worker. He was so popular there that it was difficult to get in to see him, even though I was on the staff! In any case, my massage from Aaron was definitely in the top 5 of my life - and I have received a ton of massages from some very talented therapists.
I think what I really liked about my experience with Aaron was how pleasant, respectful, patient, and present he was throughout the intake, the massage, and afterwards. He very carefully listened to my concerns, mapped out a plan that I was made to understand, and then worked on my problem area in a very calm, confident, and slow way.
What was also great about Aaron's approach was that, though it sounds cerebral from what I've stated thus far, it was very much imbued with a certain kind of magic and life-energy. Aaron absolutely has something running through his hands - a kind of kind, low-wattage electric current. I saw countless clients leave Massage Envy with their hair slightly tousled and their eyes glazed in a blissed-out expression - and after my massage, I was in a very similar state. I left the store quietly . . . went over to my car, and realized I didn't want to drive just yet. I enjoyed a quiet and meditative afternoon by myself after my massage.
And what was best - what trumps all of this, almost - was that from a muscular perspective, a lot of my issues were resolved! I would absolutely go back to Aaron; more, I would happily refer my clients to him without a second thought. I really appreciate his presence and his professionalism as a fellow massage therapist.

Aaron Shay of Broad Street Massage has given me many massages. He is a natural healer and very professional. He has helped me in attempting to reestablish the natural alignment and structural integration of my body. I leave my
massages with Aaron feeling improved vitality and a sense of well-being, Aaron's massages are worth every penny he charges!! He gives a full 60 minute massage. I prefer the deep-tissue one but that is a matter of preference.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Aaron Shay. He is, in short, the best. Aaron is very people oriented and he actually takes the time to listen to his clients and their needs. That may seem to be a given for a massage therapist but I think you will find it is not always the case. He has an amazing presence about him and a sense of confidence that allows the client to know they are in for a great experience. I recently overcome four years of sciatic nerve pain through 1. surgery 2. renewed exercise regimen 3. Aaron's massage skills. All three aspects were required. I'm healthier now than I have been in years and the massage aspect was a key component.

Aaron has worked with myself and my patients over the past 2 and a half years. His background as a massage instructor is a true benefit to his clients in that his listening skills and knowledge of the body creates a powerful and extremely comfortable healing environment. Aaron comes as highly referred and recommended by myself and my clinics.

AARON SHAY IS THE BEST MASSAGE THERAPIST I HAVE EVER HAD! I have received so many massages over the last 10+ years and I have never raved about a therapist until I met Aaron. His energy is amazing - he is so calm, intuitive, and professional. He is truly blessed with a special gift - being an incredible massage therapist.
To any woman hesitating because he is a male therapist - TRUST ME - you will feel completely comfortable and I promise that you'll thank me for the recommendation!
My husband and I moved to San Diego a few months ago. The ONLY reason I didn't want to move was because I could no longer receive massages from Aaron! I referred Aaron to a friend and she raves about him as much as me! I'll have to live vicariously through her massages until my next trip to NC!

It is easy to recommend Aaron at Broad St. Massage. He's got great hands. He's very confident with his technique and listens well to any requests; be it deep pressure or specific areas that need work. Being a runner and cyclist, my legs have always felt great after he's worked on them. Also, I am a chiropractor in the area and feel confident referring patients and family to him. I know he will treat them well as his own.

Aaron and I have worked together on several occasions and I give him 5 stars! I have my reservations while considering bodywork with a male massage therapist because of discomfort during previous massages, but Aaron makes me feel completely relaxed. This is due to his professionalism, hands on skill, and breadth of knowledge. Not only does Aaron provide excellent massage, his ability to listen and reflect with insights, have provided clarity regarding issues concerning my body and the sources of stress affecting my body. I highly recommend massage with Aaron and will continue booking with him.

I have been a client of Aaron for years and am so happy to find him here at Broad Street Massage. I have chronic neck and shoulder pain that can literally cause my shoulders to reach for my ears. I work at a day spa, so I have access to other massage therapists, but I always return to Aaron. The friends who I have referred would also agree. His touch is deep but never painful (in a word PERFECT) and his extensive knowledge of anatomy and body mechanics ensures that the work happens exactly at the source of the issue. However, I think that the most noteworthy element of Aaron's massage is his calming presence and welcoming/accepting demeanor. Even women who were a bit nervous of receiving bodywork from a male, found themselves very comfortable with Aaron. I've never known a LMBT as professional and committed to his craft and I will continue to recommend him to everyone in search of a "really great" therapist.

Weekend soccer warrior-ing + hitting my 40s = 10th degree muscle aches. Only minutes into my first session with Rebecca I knew that Id found the right massage therapist. She is intuitive, knowledgeable, and applies just the right pressure. Needless to say, Rebecca put me back together again. Relaxing space and meditative music, too.

I work out frequently and practice martial arts, which causes me to have chronic soreness. Nothing is better for these miscellaneous aches and pains than a massage session with Rebecca. She's professional, perceptive, and talented.

As a cyclist, I have different needs from many folks getting massage. Rebecca is very knowledgeable and interested in trying new things. Her prices are very reasonable and her appointments are flexible. She's GREAT!

I was referred a Rebecca by a friend for my chronic neck and upper
Back pain. Her massage was perfect! Not too hard, not too soft. I
Initially saw her at her office on broad street, but also went to the
Day spa because I knew she would be there. It is difficult to find
Someone who you feel comfortable with, who also does a great job.
Rebecca is that person. I highly recommend her and would see her
Every week if I could!!!

I was a bundle of pre-election tension and decided to spring for my first-ever massage. I could not have been happier with Rebecca's work. She seems very focused on the needs and preferences of the client, and the atmosphere of her office was perfect. While I can't compare her massage work with any other, I can say that I left relaxed and feeling wonderful and I have every intention of returning soon. Thanks, Rebecca!

As a new person to massages, Rebecca was wonderful about taking her time to describe what to expect. She appears to be well trained and her results speak for themselves.
For those traveling into the area to work in RTP, she is a great choice for a possible last minute massage. You can make an appointment on line and it is a short drive up the 147\Durham Freeway to her office in Durham.

Before beginning my massage, Rebecca took a detailed history about not only my health history but also about what I wanted to accomplish through massage. She provided me with a lot of feedback after the massage regarding where I hold my tension - she was very perceptive and knowledgable. Her office is in an excellent location and is clean, welcoming, and quiet. She offers great discounts for those who need them.

My major issue is my posture, and Rebecca did a great job of finding that out right away. When I first met her, she asked me questions to find out if there was something I wanted to accomplish through massage, or if I just wanted a relaxing experience. Since I did need help with my posture, she evaluated me before and after every massage to mark my progress. My posture is better now - not perfect - but definitely improved thanks to massage therapy with Rebecca.

I was referred to Rebecca through a mutual friend. What I love most about her is that she is responsive to my needs and sensitive pressure points, and adjusts her techniques accordingly. I enjoy the quiet, relaxing atmosphere of the office, and especially her thoughtful, deliberate taking care of me. I leave feeling refreshed, energized, less sore, and full of vitality. Only wish I could go more often! One of a kind... I have referred her multiple times to other folks in need of a great body therapist.

moved to North Carolina from Boulder Colorado, where I had many friends who attended the School of Massage Therapy that treats the world class athletes training there. My first session with Rebecca was excellent in comparison. She is very knowledgeable and responsive to her clients concerns, is able to identify and address individuals' stress areas and communicated her observations to me at the end of the session. It was relaxing, and refreshing and I have recommended her to friends already.

I have received countless hours of bodywork from many different therapists and can honestly say that Rebecca is one of my favorites. She gives a very thorough massage, finding all the places that need tension release. After our session, I feel deeply relaxed, taller, and like I am lighter - it is easier to move! If you are interested in results and want a therapist who cares about your health, visit Rebecca.

I have seen Rebecca 3 times now. Each time I had a full-body treatment for 75 minutes. Each time was great. First of all, she is completely professional, and the space is clean and comfortable. She has always been reliable and prepared. I was very relaxed after each session, with noticeable changes in my posture after the sessions. She is very good at targeting tight muscles, and getting them to release. I notice that I stand straighter and more relaxed after her massages. Also, I would emphasize that going regularly can give you longer term benefits--I have been once a month for 3 months, and my body awareness is steadily increasing, so that I am able to maintain the better, relaxed posture for longer after each massage, and also consciously return to it later. Also, I find that she gets more familiar with my body each time (with all its particular tight spots!) and is able to customize the massage. It's a very personal thing, and you clearly have to find someone that has a style you like, a general demeanor that works for you, and someone you can build a relationship with. For me, Rebecca has worked very well on all those counts.
