I went to Dr Cara Dawson for over 5 years. I rarely had to see her, but when I was in to see her she never could really spend too much time to help me out. I always felt like a number and not a person. The last experience I had with her was when I was not able to reach anyone to fill a prescription I was taking for depression/sleep. I was on 3 days without it and her assistant was giving me the runaround. I broke down. No sleep for 3 days, no anti-depressants and no one would help me in the office. I got very upset with the assistant and she got offended and hung up on me. Now, no pills, no help, all alone with my baby. Here's the thing: being outside of that moment and looking back, I am shocked that they would hang up on a crying mother with a crying baby in the background just because I used a stern voice with her assistant. My husband had to call back and speak witht he mgr to get my prescription filled and to have my records sent to me. One prescription got filled and I have never received my records. In my opinion, when a patient seems to be disoriented, upset and clearly without her meds with her child, every word, conversation should be put aside and a doctor should be concerned about their patients well being and that wasn't the case with her. I worry for anyone else that might in this position in the future. Dr. Dawson in my opinion gets paid per patient and that is all she cares about. She is not in this business to help people.
