I have seen this doctor for 15 years and have been generally satisfied. She has an upbeat manner, is friendly, answers questions although doesnt spend a lot of time with you but I find doctors rarely do. I dont mind the short wait as I am happy with the doctor. I see this doctor in her Yorktown office.

I arrived at the Cold Spring office 10 minutes before my appt. time which was 3:00pm. Even before I saw the Doctor or midwife(you don't know who you are actually going to see)I was asked to pay the co-pay. Ten minutes after I arrived the person who had the appt before me at 2:45 arrived late. We both sat in the waiting room for another 15 mins. The late patient was called into the office to see the doctor while I was called up to the receptionist and told that the doctor would not be able to see me due to an emergency at the hospital and I would have to make another appt. which was in another three weeks. I explained to the receptionist that it had me taken me three weeks to get this appointment but it did not change anything. I still have to wait another 3 weeks to see a doctor so it has turned into a 6 week appointment and I still don't know if they credited my account for the co-pay. My advice: Find another doctor. This isn't the first time that this has happened(the time before, the doctor again had an emergency and they didn't have the courtesy to call and inform you of it until you got to the office)but it will be the last time.

I can't believe I'm reading these horrible reviews of "Dr." Harracksingh's practice, although I am not shocked in the least. I randomly chose her as my doctor when I first moved to Yorktown Heights in 2003. BIG MISTAKE! Always go on a reference, not out of the phone book. I agree with ALL of these reviews; totally unprofessional with major attitudes. I've never heard anything good about this office. I hated every minute of going there through my 2nd pregnancy in 2004! When I went for the glucose test they made me fast and drink that orange stuff. I showed up on time and they had me waiting for 20 minutes. By the time the nasty nurse came out to get me, she was shocked that I was doing a glucose test and practically yelled at me that the test wasn't going to work b/c I had been waiting for 20 mins! Well whose fault was THAT??? I was infuriated. I should have switched docs back then. Fast forward to the C-section on the operating table I started yelling in pain during the surgery. She was FRUSTRATED with me and asked me if it was pain or pressure I was feeling. I said it felt like someone was kicking me in the stomach. She shot a look to the other docs and nurses and they stopped the surgery and had to up my epidural. How does that happen??? How does it run out in the middle of surgery? Fast foward to my healthy baby girl being born, but too bad she completely MISDIAGNOSED Postpartum Depression AND Mastitis! I had flu symptoms for over a week; sweating profusely, 104 fever, and one breast in pain. After calling 3 times without getting a call back from the office, I drove myself (delirious w/ 104 fever) to the office and asked her to check me out. She kept telling me I was probably dehydrated and had the FLU and could I please leave before I INFECTED the rest of her patients! Holy hell, no one should ever be treated like that. I ended up walking into a DOCS office in Jefferson Valley and this doc I'd never met before told me right away "honey, you have mastitis! If you waited another day, you would be in the hospital getting surgery to drain the infection." I cried right there. She put me on 4000 mg of amoxicillin....this doctor I never met, saved me. How sad and pathetic. It was a nightmare and one that I don't like talking about too much. I'm pretty sure I could have had some kind of lawsuit against them, but I was too upset with the postpartum to deal with it. I've since switched to Mount Kisco Medical Group in Yorktown and I love them all! Amy Fleming is my midwife, and I'm going to have my 3rd baby on 8/9/10 at Northern Westchester Hospital. Looking forward to a good experience this time. I don't know how Dr. Harracksingh is still practicing!!! It disgusts me.

I actually have not seen the doctor, only had the PA who was pretty much okay. I would not recommend this office however. I had a negative experience in dealing with them last year. I am moving on to another doc.

I have been a patient at Hudson Valley Women's Group in Yorktown Heights for 6 years. In those 6 years, I found their service consistantly disappointing.

The receptionist at the front desk, when answering the phone, was unprofessional, irritable and treated people as a nusiance when they called. I experienced this myself when calling and saw with other phone calls she intercepted when I was in the waiting room for an appointment.

I never felt I had a personal connection with my physician. Depending on the day I was scheduled, I would always get a different face and another doctor who did not know me or my history.

I had to have an biopsy performed in the Yorktown Heights office, and like any woman who has had her cervix pushed on, was in excrutiating pain during the procedure. I was told by the rendering physician that if I did not stop moving, I would be released from the room and have to come back at another time to "do this all over again". Her bedside manner was poor and she did not try to calm me or my soothe my pain in any way. In fact, she called a nurse in to walk me through what she was performing.

In the recent year, I had an ultrasound performed and Dr. Theresa Wang discovered I have cysts growing on my ovaries. I have been to the office every 2-3 months for a follow up ultrasound to "monitor" these cysts. I have experienced excrutiating pain in this time and called the office on a Saturday when I was doubling over at home. The on-call physician was Dr. Harracksingh, who never called me back that day to advise me. I actually had to call the office back on Monday to speak with someone.

Since that time, I have been given a run around by Dr. Wang for my condition, and last week, had an appointment for another ultrasound follow-up. I explained to the ultrasound technician (Dr. Wang is not in the office on the same day of the ultrasound technician) that I was in pain and requested that Dr. Wang contact me to discuss other options so I do not have to endure any more pain. That was one week ago and I have yet to receive a phone call. I am happy to say I am writing them a strongly worded letter and requesting my records be transfered to a new office.

Worst experience ever with a so-called doctor. I had an appointment for 1:30 at Harracksingh's Cold Spring office. Took a half day off of work. On confirming the appointment the day before, the staff told me to come in at 1:45. Four patients were ahead of me. I asked how long would it be and they replied "A little while". When I pressed them, specifically: "How long is a little while?" she curtly responded, "A while". While I was waiting, a patient she was seeing behind the wall complained. I could hear Harracksingh through the wall raising her voice at the patient. Patient with newborn baby left upset. Took staff 45 minutes to even ask me to fill out new patient forms. I walked to the counter and said to them, "Never mind, this isn't working out for me". Staff person became extremely defensive and replied "I just got here!" Harracksingh came out from behind the office and her behavior was impatient, agitated, stressed and overwhelmed. She raised her voice to me, said she had an "emergency" that morning. I asked why no one called me, that I had to work too, that I had "emergencies" too (that I had to leave work for in order to keep this appointment). I pointed out how long I was waiting for and that I found it disrespectful. She asked the staff if I was an existing patient (because obviously she doesn't know who her patients are) and when they told her no, she unbelievably said to me "We don't want your kind of people here anyway." Harracksingh runs her office as though people are an insurance mill. The more she stacks up the appointments, the less actual health care her patients receive and in her case, her patients health care is the last thing she is working for. She is unfocused, unprofessional and nasty.

I agree with the other posting. I had an appointment in the Yorktown office for 3:15pm and was not seen until 4. Yet at 4pm I was not seen by the doctor but put into the gown in a freezing room and expected to wait more. After 40 minutes of nothing, not even the P.A. came in to say the Doctor will be with you shortly, nothing but me in a freezing room I had to leave for work. Upon telling the staff they showed no sympathy and here hesitant in scheduling me again. I would not recommend this practice to anyone, and I am in the process of switching.

I recently had an appt at the Cold Spring Office which took 1.5 hrs. My actual time with the staff was 5 minutes. The rest of the time was spent waiting. The receptionist at the office also acts as the nurse or assistant. She is tied up and rushed the whole time at this office. They must be short staffed. You also see a midwife not the doctor. I was very frustrated after this visit and am looking for another doctor.
