I agree with the review below, that Dr. Carter wasn't very thorough and didn't seem very interested in my personal health. The wait was excessive - after the waiting room, I sat in the exam room for over half an hour before she came in. Furthermore, she indicated that a test result would come back within an hour of my appointment and I would be called. 8 hours later I hadn't heard anything; I called and left a message. The nurse called and said that my prescription had been called in to CVS. 3 hours later I went to CVS and they hadn't heard anything from the doc.

I've seen Dr. Carter for annual physicals 3 years now. Although she's friendly and somewhat personable, my complaint is that she isn't very thorough and isn't as interested in my personal health as I expect her to be. For example, prior to each appointment, I have to fill out a family history. The first two years, I listed my mother as having colon cancer, and asked about early screening. I'm approaching 40, by the way. Before the third appointment, I unfortunately had to list my mother as having died from colon cancer. Again, I had to ask about when I should start getting screened. She told me "typically at 50 unless you have a family history". Although I had to fill out my history for the last 3 appointments, she apparently never looked at it. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but I don't think so. If you want a doctor who seems genuinely interested in your well-being, Dr. Carter is not who you want to see. If you want to see someone who will get you in and out quickly, so you can leave thinking, "well, that wasn't so bad after all", then she's the one for you. Maybe that's ok when you're in your 20's, but as you get older, a good doctor becomes more important.

I feel this medical group has gone downhill in customer service. When I first became a patient I could call in an emergency such as strep throat, urinary tract infection, etc and schedule an appointment for the same day. In the last few years I have noticed that everytime I call I am not able to make an appointment and rarely can schedule with my primary physician. I'm always stuck seeing the Physician's Assistant or Physician on-duty. This has even happened in instances where I was looking for an appointment weeks away.

I have also noticed that on routine visits for physicals I get talked into having unnecessary medical tests that are very expensive and that are in my opinion and others unnecessary tests for someone in their 20's. I feel like the office is trying to pay for equipment and has therefore decided to try to persuade patients to have tests that are not really deemed necessary. I would not recommend this practice as I have been very disappointed in recent times.
