I made the mistake of coming to Dr. Sorbero after she took over my previous orthodontist's practice. I came for invisalign. After 2 years and no results, she said they looked great and we were done. I tried coaxing her into seeing it from my perspective and she took offense. She begrudgingly agreed to give me bracket braces. My teeth are very sensitive and when she removed the bonding material from the invisalign I was very uncomfortable, to this she took offense. I was then made to sit and wait for over an hour until she came back to me. She then had her staff make me a retainer, which I questioned why I would need one if she was going to give me braces my next visit. I was ignored. My next visit she demanded I pay for the retainer I would need after the braces because she had already made me one. I had to scratch my head because there was no need to make the first one. I should have walked away at that point, but I did not. I paid for the retainer and I had the braces for a duration of 4 months, within this time I would tread on water when she would say they were ready to come off when I could clearly see spaces and crookedness in my teeth caused by adjustments. I finally realized that it would be best to have them off when they were "good enough" in order to finally leave her care. The day I went to get them off they asked for payment of the retainer. I had to very slowly explain to the office staff that I had already paid for it. Not enough can be said about the incompetence of her office staff. On three occasions I showed up to my appointment, with my appointment card filled out by her staff and was told I did not have an appointment. The office manager Tracy told me that my payments for invisalign were incomplete, when I knew they were paid in whole, so I then had to bring in all my credit card statements to prove I was right. I called to change an appointment and started the conversation, "Hello I need to change an appointment" and the girl on the phone said, "I don't even know who you are", to that I said my name and she literally said, "are you the girl that wears the jacket that zips all the way up". Stay away from this place.

She is abusive and the worst ortho ever. PLEASE contact the third district dental society in Latham NY and report her. They will take a report. my childs braces are awful.

I find Cheryl Sorbero highly unethical, she lacks sensitivity towards her patients. Do not bring your child to her practice, the reviewer that said she is never seen in the ofice, is right, she hides behinds her techs, and her office manager who is also unethical, and walks away in a temper tamtrum, when she knows she is wrong.
I brought my children to her and my child's braces were a mess, my child had more visits with broken wires and bands breaking off, than routine check-ups. I've seen kids with braces from other practices and they have thick braces. They bill my insurance even when my children were not under their care anymore.
If you have had a bad experience please submit, there are many parents unhappy with.

We orginally came in when Dr. Kabinoff was there. He sold it. We had at that time been into the treatment too far to even seek out another orthodonist. Well, scheduling appointments is beyond difficult. They only do 4:30pm retainer check ups, so if your child plays a sport for school forget about ever being seen at the office, or the other option is to miss practice or a game your... choice here.
The office manager, is as another reviewer called her a bully, and I think that reviewer was actually being nice. I can't even put in to words how offensive she is and to think she is there in a customer service position. REALLY???
The receptionists are unprofessional. I was aggravated that they would not see my children at a different time for retainers. My daughter walked back in to the office to get a slip for school. The receptionist says with sarcasm "wasn't she pleasant" in front of other clients. Oh, and be very leary of the way they bill your insurance. We have found some irregular dates and billing adjustments.
Also, I have never ever spoke to Dr. Sorbero (if she really is one) face to face. You speak directly to the techs. and that is hit or miss. Because they are always so over booked they never have time to speak to you.
Good Luck, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DR. FOR ANYONE OF ANY AGE. SEEK OUT OTHER ORTHODONTIST.

So, I recommend you find another orthodontist. I am very sad we had NO say in this matter after she bought out Dr. Kabinoff's practice.
