.

Let me first start by saying that the hygienists were fantastic during each visit. As well, my initial encounter with Dr. Jim was positive as he conducted a brief exam and advised that two teeth needed to be extracted within three weeks (of that appointment which was held on 06/18/2015.) The office staff must not have read the timeframe right since the first available slot open was five weeks later.

I brought my daughter in for the extractions on 07/23/2015 without much concern. As Dr. Jim entered the room, my daughter's anxiety rose. He seemed emotionally removed from the situation as she began to squirm. After a brief wait, he abruptly left the room and told the hygienist to rebook the appointment with nitrous oxide.

My wife brought my daughter in for the second attempt at the extraction on 07/28/2015. Again as Dr. Jim entered the room, my daughter's anxiety rose. As she began to squirm and cry loudly, Dr. Jim and the hygienist backed away offering no guidance to my wife, leaving her alone to calm my daughter down. When my wife asked for help, Dr. Jim's comments to her were condescending and rude to put it mildly, implying in short that our child was an uncooperative child who was completely uncontrollable. Once the nitrous oxide was administered, the condescending comments from Dr. Jim continued, but this time towards my daughter noting, "see what happens when you cooperate?"

Our daughter has bravely faced numerous medical procedures that are much more invasive than a tooth extraction. In each case, the medical staff was equally supportive of the patient as they were the parent.

I frankly expected a much more from a 'pediatric specialty' provider. The way that Dr. Jim handled this anxiety ridden situation is unacceptable to me. His uninvolved physical presence, emotionally detached demeanor and condescending comments only compounded the issue.

I do not intend to return to Children's Dental Center of New Hampshire and will be certain to tell my story to others.
