UCSF is the absolute best hospital for children. My cousin was born with a rare diease that makes enzymes in the body that are detrimental to her kidneys and liver. the doctors here did an amazing job and saved my cousin. She has been though so many surgeries, yet they were always optimistic. Now she goes there every week for check ups and anti- rejection drugs. They saved her life. without teir compassion and hard work, she would not have made it thruogh.

Since my son was born, he's been going to UC and visiting one nurse practitioner, who is very good at what she does. However, it seems that she is always on the go, always backed up, and always running late. I don't know if they over-burden her with patients, or if the system itself over-books her, but I would like to see our nurse for a little longer during our wellness check-ups. The good thing is that for emergencies, this is a good place to go; however, for primary care, you may want to check out other options available through your health plan.

PROS:
CONS: too busy, not enough time with patients
