I went to Dr. Cobb as a kid and now my son goes to him. My son likes the Dr. and staff. I have seen a lot of reviews on here negative about treatment and the fact that the Dr. has the kids go back by themselves.

The following are reasons parents don't go back with child:
-Dentists time with patient is very valuable..... parents interfere with treatment
-Dentists are professionals at what they do.... they don't need parents input or nagging.
-Dentist work better if they aren't under pressure of you watching their every move.... yes this is your child but don't you want the job done to the best of the Dentist's ability?.... think about it
-Children are more likely to whine and complain when parent is present.... This is usually the case and not just my opinion.
-Dentist don't need parents to be in the way. there are several people in the same area and the extra Boby isn't needed.
***You see where I'm getting at on these points***

If you have separation issues with your child then you should probably go elsewhere.

Dr. Cobb is an excellent Dentist and I highly recommend him to parents who don't mind their children going it alone in the dental chair.... after all if they're going to the dentist than they're a big kid and can handle going in by themselves.

I hope my post is helpful

My son had an appointment with Dr. Cobb today. When we first got there we were rudely "greeted" by the receptionist by asking whats the name...no good morning or anything. Asked for our insurance info and placed the paper work on the counter and walked away. I could tell that this wasn't going to be a good visit. After waiting for around 20 mins they finally called my son back. My husband and I get up to come back and the nurse tells us they see the kids alone. Umm no my son is only 2 years old and this is only his second visit to a dentist. She goes on to say that they see all kids from infant and up all by themselves. That may be the case but not my son. She tells us to have a seat and she'll speak with Dr. Cobb about it. She comes back and say that maybe we should go and find someone else that we are more comfortable with. That's fine because no one that I have never seen is going to be alone with my child especially when you say that you may use restraints on him. My son will definitely never go back to this dentist. Besides what dentist will not let the parent even step foot in their office or be seen face to face.

My children both go to Dr. Cobbs office and I have not had any problems but as you may know they were alot younger. I always thought that it was a great dentist to take my children to untill today my kids had some dental work that needed to be done and my son which is 5 went first he had to have a silver crown put on which really hurt, Me and his sister which is 3, waited till they called her back as she went back my son came out well when he came out his nurse told me what they did and what needed to be done that was fine. Well then his sister came out from getting her filing done and her nurse walked over and said she done fine and everything else looks good but at this time my son was still crying and his sisters nurse spoke up and said stop all that crying im sure your crying because you want to go home now stop that I know it dont hurt you, well that was not so bad but I still dont like nobody talking to my kids that way and plus how does that ***** know its not her mouth. Well then all they way home my son cried saying it hurt so bad so I gave them both some tylenol and they took a nap when we got home, afetr they woke up I asked does your mouth still hurt they said no and then just out of the blue my oldest which is my son said mom Dr. Cobb was mean to me today I said WHAT I asked what he said or done he said that Dr. Cobb was in the back screaming at him, my son said Dr. Cobb was telling him that he didnt wont to hear none of his crying, I asked my son has he ever screamed at you before he said no not untill today my son said he was scared and did not want to go back because he is scared he will call the cops if he does not go get his teeth fixed so I think he may of said some other things to him and my son is scared to tell me. So heck no I dont think kids should go there like the other lady said what kind of dentist does not show there face to the parents..... But first thing in the morning i will be calling Dr. Bryan Cobbs office and asking is that is normal routine screaming at kids and if so he needs to know he is in the wrong profession BE CAREFUL PARENTS YOU DO NOT KNOW WHO YOU CAN TRUST and who in the hell said parents arent allowed back anymore what kind of crap is that.

I take my son to Dr. Cobb and I think he is a very good dentist. I have recommended Dr Cobb to several of my friends. My child likes going to the dentist at this office.

I took my daughter to Dr. Cobb to fill her very first cavities. I made it a point to research the reviews I could find about him on the Internet. After reading the reviews posted here, I was very concerned. I printed them out and took them with me to our first consult with Dr. Cobb. I spoke with his wife, who works with him, about the reviews. She assured me that the negative ones are not true. Principally, the reviews that involved parents being threatened with a call to Social Services if they did not wait inside and the refusal to do dental work on a child due to insurance issues. In fact, she informed me that parents are welcome to wait outside during their child's treatment (I had to go outside myself to take a phone call) and they do not refuse to treat patients based on their insurance. Furthermore, I did not see any evidence of children being mistreated. My daughter had an excellent experience and was treated with the utmost respect, as was I.

We went to two other dentists before going to Dr. Cobb. My son gets very nervous and Dr. Cobb and his staff are always patient and kind to him. We feel very lucky to have found this office!

My first impression of Dr. Cobb was not so good! Very Arrogant! The asst. was fine with my children. I don't really appreciate the non communication up front on insurance issue's as well. I took both of my children the second time for fillings, he only saw one of my children. Then the front desk lady said, due to insurance reasons my second child couldn't be seen. Another words Dr. was afraid he wouldn't receive payment. (My insurance would pay) I would highly recommend looking elsewhere! He isn't the only one that accepts medicaid or Primary and secondary.

I tOOK y grandson Isaac who is 6 to Dr. Cob on an emergency visit. Isaac had never been there before and was a little scared. Dr. Cobb and his staff took wonderful care of him. TOOK As a matter of fact Isaac has to go back for more work and isn't the least bit hesitate about his visit. He had to on his first visit have 1 tooth pulled and 1 crowned.I noticed as I set waiting for Isaac turn that he children weren't or seemed a bit scared as their names were called to go back. When the children came out they were calm and relaxed . You didn't hear children screming or crying. Very impressed with them.MARY JENNINGS

He is a horrible dentist. I have the same experiences with him being mean to both of my children also. Do not put your children through it!! Told my 13yr old to shut up and act her age.... she loves the denist and wants to be a oral surg. one day and she refuses to go back. What dentist wont even show his face to the parents?

I have been taking my children to Dr. Cobb for years and they absolutely love him! I have never heard anyone else complain about him either. He does encourage the parents to stay in the lobby and by my witness accounts over the years, they do (not in their cars). Maybe you should not put so much emphasis on what your 5 year old child says (because you know that parents do not go into the room with them, so this couldn't have been witnessed by you.) As we all know the imaginations of little ones run wild, especially when the task is not pleasant. Encourage your child to appreciate the dentists, don't encourage his behavior.

Dr. Cobb screamed at my son, threatened him with "more needles in his gum", told him monsters would get him if he moved around. I took my 5 year old there because I thought he would be good with kids. I was sure wrong. I had my 3 week old baby with me, so I went out in the parking lot with my baby. Most of the parents sit outside in their car and wait. The staff accused me of leaving, even though I was sitting in the car in front of the door. As the assiatant came out each time, I was there. They told my son that they would call Social Services on me for leaving. I am a professional woman. I would NEVER leave my child at an appt. If the staff let parents come back with the kids, I would never have went outside. My son will never go back there and I want everybody to know how the Dr. treats your kids. I have heard the same from other parents
