C&H diagnosed my injury and determined that I needed stretching, alignment, and rest with no painful excersizing. Robbie physically relaxed my shoulder muscles, adjusted my neck vertebrae, and gave me stretching routines. I am very satisfied with the professionalism, diagnosis, and treatments I received at C&H. I am one who has kept in shape by running and excersizing most of my life. C&H kept me "In the Game".

No frills, no touchy feely, no questionable high tech procedures like electro-stim, ultrasound, or massage. A good place for athletes and those committed to training. Focus on strengthening the muscle groups that are weak and allow your injury to linger.
I have, also, witnessed Colin working with and improving the non-athletic, the arthritic, and the chronic pain patient with fibro-myalgia.

I started an exercise program 30 years ago and have been consistently exercising ever since. Even though I tried different diets and workout plans my habits and thinking weren??t always best for me and I had a hard time achieving my goals. It took a long time to find the right niche to achieve a level of fitness attainability that I desired.

In 2002 I listened to an AM radio station that broadcasted a fitness program on Sundays that Colin Hoobler hosted. I became hooked on his philosophy on exercise to get a quality workout in 30 minutes and healthy eating. I wanted to reduce my time in the gym and made a New Year??s resolution (2003) to make an appointment to see if his plan would work for me. I was amazed to learn there was a more effective way to workout. After taking a series of training sessions I saw definite results and have been on his program every since. At my initial consult I didn??t think I could lose weight and it wasn??t my primary concern to see him, but I decided I??d try the nutrition suggestions Colin recommended. I lost 30 lbs and have kept it off. Believe me, my happiness level jumped sky high.

This year I decided to return to CH Physical Therapy & Personal Training for a refresher course. Glad I did because over the last 7 years I somehow got sloppy with my form. I will always have a burning desire to take care of myself when it comes to physical fitness and I??m thankful Colin Hoobler??s knowledge & professionalism is the best that can be found. Follow his recommendations and you will definitely see results.

Thank you Colin, I??ll always be a follower of yours.

I have had recurring back problems due to travel for work plus suffering from plantar fascitis. So, my orthopedist recommended CH Physical Therapy and I have been so impressed with the therapist I have been working with: Katie @ the Cornell Rd in Beaverton.

Based on the progress from my first consult, there is evidence of the improvement since I've started. My back and core is stronger and I have exercises I can work on when I'm traveling or at home. Ironically enough, I enjoy my sessions! You will not regret any therapeutic sessions here, even if you can only go once. You will leave more knowledgeable about what to work on and heal your problems.

Katie has been a consummate professional. She really prides herself on her work: she creates a different routine for each session and always provides an explanation of what she is helping me to strengthen. Katie always has a positive and cheery attitude; she is one of the few professionals that I really respect for her knowledge and demeanor.

c.h. Physical Therapy helped a lot to strengthen my buckling right knee, and an arthritic left one. I've been to three or four PT facilities in the Portland area, but this is probably the best one for strengthening weak muscles. Alice at the Cornell Rd. facility, carefully evaluated my situation, established a challenging routine for strengthening and stretching and firmly put me through my paces. She was attentive and very good at answering the many questions I tossed at her. She even phoned a couple of times to just check on how I was doing. After suffering for months with the right knee problem, I noticed significant improvement after the first week, and even the creaky arthritic left one seemed to improve. The office staff was very good at getting me appointments at times that worked best for me as well as accepting a few unavoidable last minute cancellations without any fuss. The facility was clean and airy, and seemed to have enough room for everybody, even during the peak hours of activity. All in all, a job well done! I hate to admit that I'll be back, but I probably will, and won't hesitate to do so. Thanks again.

Thank you. I tore the meniscus in my knee as a result of an injury sustained while hiking. Katie Finn was my Physical therapist. Katie worked with my doctor on a plan to rehabilitate my knee first. After two months of strengthening, we made the decision to proceed with reconstruction surgery. I now have more flexibility and range of motion that I have had in 15 years. Katie was always attentive and customized treatment based on what I needed on the day of treatment. She taught me a lot about the care and tending for an aging, weekend-warrior??s body. The physical therapy leading up to surgery was definitely the way to go. I was amazed that I walked out of the hospital on the day of surgery. I had a similar surgery on my other knee two years ago and it took me eight months to be where I am today three weeks after surgery (pain-free). CH was very flexible in appointment scheduling and accomodating my erratic work schedule. The office staff is exceptionally professional and the facility was always Neat, Tidy and Fresh. ??Duncan H.

Last year I fell and broke my ankle and seriously injured my hip. I went to their Beaverton office and Ann Horinouchi, PT, DPT was assigned to treat me. I arrived having to use 2 crutches to walk and I left 4 months later (2 sessions a week) walking on my own feeling a lot better. Ann is a fabulous PT. She listens to your issues and treats your condition with great care. In the short time I was there I learned a lot about how my muscles work, how to improve them and how to keep them in good working order. She was very careful concerning my pain and always found a way to treat me without making my injuries worse. She encouraged me to workout at home and at a gym. She answered all my emails concerning my off site workouts quickly and professionally. I highly recommend using Ch Physical Therapy. All of the staff seemed to be highly trained and eager to help.

I am 76 years old. Some years ago, I was told by my orthopedic surgeon that I lack cartilage in both knees due to degenerative arthritis. Then about 10 years ago, my husband noticed that my right leg had become crooked, or bowed. Last year he noticed that my left leg, previously pretty straight, had now become more bowed than the right leg.
In May of this year my orthopedic surgeon, whom I had been seeing for knee pain, sent me to c.h. Physical Therapy, hoping to forestall knee replacement surgery through strengthening of the leg muscles. I saw Ann Horinouchi for about 3 months who worked with me through extensive manipulation, exercises, stretches and hard work and now, to my surprise and delight, my legs are amazingly and noticeably straighter. I really had no idea that this was actually possible, and am so pleased.

I highly recommend Colin as a Physical Therapist.

He was very helpful in reducing pain resulting from my Fibromyalgia. He gave me exercises to do and I was surprised that it helped so much--I was sceptical that exercize could help, but it did. I was initially sent to him for physical therapy on a pinched siatica nerve. Got great results for both conditions.

He is very patient and always inquires, every visit, if I had any questions or concerns regarding our last visit.

Very professional, kind, and always concerned my welfare.

This is lengthy, but the context will help explain why I am so pleased with Colin's work at CH Physical Therapy.

Last November I suffered 2 contusions to my spinal cord (neck area) and ended up in the hospital, paralyzed on my left side and significant weakness and neurological damage on my right. I also lost most muscle strength in my torso. I ended up having surgery to alleviate the pressure on my spinal cord (3 fused vertebrae) and was in the hospital for 2 weeks. The surgery was successful, but the damage to the spinal cord was done, and I was told it would take 12-18 months for the cord to heal and getting back any functionality would be a combination of my body's healing ability and physical therapy.

With much determination (and the help of a steroid drip) I was able to regain enough functionality at the end of my two weeks in the hospital to "walk" (make that drag) out with the aid of a walker. I then started a steady dose of physical and occupational therapy at another facility. A few weeks into the program I developed a significant nerve /muscle problem (perhaps because of my weak leg/torso muscles?) which caused my legs to weaken further and threaten to collapse with every step I took.

This further developed into a severe amount of constant low back pain, but worse, it hampered my progress since all exercising was affected. None of the physical therapists could resolve the problem, with one "back expert" prescribing exercises that I later found out exacerbated the problem! Basically I was in agony. I visited several doctors and no one was able to remedy the situation.

In the following January, with my phys therapists' agreement, I had progressed enough that I decided I could do the exercises they gave me on my own and that getting a personal trainer and working out at a gym would perhaps work better for me. A doctor friend of mine suggested Colin as a trainer since he also had a physical therapy background.

At my first visit I decided to utilize Colin for personal training as well as continued physical therapy as needed. The first thing I told him was my ongoing back/leg/nerve problem and how it was affecting my ability to progress since I still couldn't walk without pain and impending collapse of each leg.

It took a couple weeks, but Colin was able to pinpoint a specific muscle group that was causing an impingement of my sciatic nerve and prescribed a series of 20 minute daily stretches. In 2-3 weeks the sciatic nerve problem was completely gone!! I was once again able to start exercising and walking without the constant fear of my legs giving out!

The solution was so simple (in retrospect), but the point is no one I was working with (doctors and therapists) could figure it out! What Colin brought to the table was the ability to DIAGNOSE the problem, as well as proscribe the proper treatment. I know the body isn't a car, but this is akin to that great feeling you get when you finally find a mechanic who can diagnose your car problem and fix it the first time instead of just replacing parts. Finding Colin is like finding that mechanic.

I still have significant nerve/muscle problems as a result of my injury, but I've made significant progress since working with Colin's group. His advice will often run counter to what I'd been told by other specialists, but he backs up his comments with obvious knowledge of the subject. I've been surprised by how many times we'll have a conversation about some topic with his opinion running counter to conventional wisdom, only to read later about some recent research supporting Colin's view!

All I can say is I'm lucky I found him when I did!

I want to thank CH Physical Therapy for everything they have done for my son. It is amazing how they have helped him become stronger and feel better. He is now working out at a gym about four days a week following Colin's plan. The other day he looked up at me when he was done working out and thanked me.

Ch Physical Therapy is able to work with my son even though he is sometimes bad tempered and very weak physically. They are an amazing team who worked together to accomplish an almost impossible task.

I have now started to follow Colin??s book and am benefiting from working out with weights.

They are the best!!!

I found out about this clinic through my chiropractor. She swears by treatment these physical therapists give and now I understand why! My back had been hurting me for 15 years and I tried everything: massage, surgery, yoga, acupuncture, chiropractor, drugs, etc. What I didn't realize is that I would constantly aggravate my back all day long when doing simple things. Ann showed me how to move right to protect my back. The exercises are hard to do but have helped me lose 18 pounds in 4 months! This is the most caring staff I've had the privilege to work with and recommend it to everyone.

In the summer of 2000, I slipped and fell in a super market severely injuring my low back and cervical spine. I had not known pain like that before, except for the birth of my child. I went to see my family doctor who gave me pain and anti-inflammatory medication, sent me for some x-rays, then to see a back surgeon. Doctor #2 also wanted me to take medication and to stay off work for 4 to 6 weeks and get more e-rays in the form of MRI??s, then see another back surgeon that was the best in the field for the injury??s I had . He was to become known to me as the ??Doctor??s doctor? as he was referred to me.
The day I seen the Doctor??s doctor he made a decision as to what surgery needed to be performed first, the cervical spine or the lumbar spine. Since my head aches and arm pain could be controlled and maintained by more pain medication and some other drugs. The ??Doctor??s doctor? Said, I??ll perform a low back ??LAMB-IN-DECK-TO-ME? as soon as tomorrow afternoon, it??s not a risky surgery, but one I performs all the time and get very good results, you??ll be better the next morning than and even before the fall? OK, let??s do it.
I awake in recovery and feel a different kind of pain, I am asked by the nurse if I would like some pain medication and all I can do is cry out the word ??YES? then I am asked to get up and walk around the floor, I try and find that my back is in more pain than ever. When the Doctor??s doctor came to release me to go home he assures me the pain will only last a short time maybe a few days and then I??ll start to feel better. Well that day never came and the refills of medication became a weekly thing.
I went to see another Doctor ??the teacher? of back surgery. He did a few more tests on my cervical spine (7) including one that I had to stay in the hospital overnight. He then concluded I needed to have yet another surgery? Nerve decompression? in about 4 to 5 disks. I had to give this a lot of thought, after all the first didn??t go so well.
I had the surgery, it was not very pleasant, but it did relieve most of the pain and symptoms for a while. After that I seen 17 doctors at Pain clinics and physical therapy clinics and hospitals that could do nothing for me except addict me to more pain medications and other drugs related to depression. 12 years of that and it took its total on my brain and body and I set myself up to be in a bed for the rest of my life. Took myself off all medications and went to hell and back again for about 3 months.
Then as a last prayer to God I went to see Colin Hoobler at CHPT to see if I could use any of his knowledge to at the least suppress some of the pain, I had no idea he was going to change my life and give me back something I had lost 12 years ago, full use of my mind and body. He undid all that I had learned from past physical therapist and had to teach me how to do things the right way after about 2 months of that I started to notice the pain was not only dissipating, I was standing different, walking different and feeling better than I had felt in many years.
Now it has been a year and because of Colin Hoobler, I am working full time and some. Don??t take any medications; look forward to every new day and vacations. I went zip lining in the Bahamas last month something I never thought I would be able to do. I don??t cry anymore or feel sorry for myself.
I have a new life. If I had the last 12 years to do over again I would have seen Colin and his staff before ever saying yes to a Doctor doing surgery or putting me on daily medications. Medications are not the answer for you it??s the start of more problems if that??s all your doctor can do for you.

After knee replacement, scar tissue developed quickly around the joint, greatly restricting range of motion. When my surgeon recommended CH Therapy, I didn't have high hopes because my PT experiences usually end out of boredom rather than achieved goals.

CH Therapy is different. The Pearl District staff are friendly and eager. Therapists are always 'on point', and detailed daily records are kept for each patient. Colin Hoobler has developed uniform procedures for his therapists, informed by his ample education and his experience as a successful athlete.

My regimen was a half-hour of intense one-on-one strength exercise, plus closely-monitored cardio and sustained stretching, with much insistence on correct form. The stretching involved some pain, but Colin's and Kim's sincere encouragement (and occasional light-hearted ridicule) challenged me to try my best.

The therapy saved me from having to return to the hospital for a manipulation. The weekend after finishing therapy (and four months after surgery) I bicyled, hiked Gorge trails, and XCskied at MtHood. It will take time to restore my knee to full function, but Colin has given me tools to work with on my own, to be supplemented with occasional return visits.

I went to CH after shoulder surgery last year. My shoulder was killing me. Katie helped me learn how to use my shoulder in ways I didn't think were possible and as a result, I didn't need my pain pills in less time than my doctor thought. I really appreciated how accommodating Katie was to my work schedule, because if she wasn't, I wouldn't have been able to do PT. The only problem was the temperature sometimes, which was kinda cold. Overall, however, this is the best PT facility I have ever been to.

My entire family goes to CH and we love the careful attention we get. Definitely would recommend this clinic to anyone who wants the best physical therapy anywhere. The front office staff seems well trained and is very helpful/friendly and the PT's are world class people with impressive credentials. Best of all, the PT's are the only ones who have been able to help me fix my back problem which I've had for years.

My wife, adult son and myself were in an auto accident. We received excellent care and skill knowledge as to how to help with the therapy. All suggestions and actual therapy with Colin, owner, was excellent! His pushes you beyond what you think you can do and that makes a positive difference. I highly reommend this skilled man who understands the body and how to repair it after a traumatic accident! Edmund Bouschor, Portland

I had ACL reconstructed surgery on my right knee last summer and my doctor referred me to CH for rehab. What I appreciated most about this clinic is how attentive the physical therapists are to me during my appointments. I had physical therapy before coming to CH and it was unimpressive in this regard. The CH front office does need a little work, as they sometimes seemed disorganized when scheduling appointments. Overall, though, this clinic has the best rehab in town.

I had been to several PT's for my elbow problem with little to no success. Whe I met Colin 2 years ago at his Pearl location it was obvious this company does not do "normal" physical therapy, which peaked my interest. The insurance coverage was great so I had my doctor refer me for physical therapy. In 2 months I had almost full motion with my elbow and almost no pain which shocked me. The entire staff at C.H. was always helpful and kind. I highly recommend them.

This physical therapy is quite different from any I've done before.
The combination of stretches, cardiovasular, and resistance exercise training, taught with emphasis on joint protection, has allowed me to physically do things I could not do comfortably before. For example, I removed over 1 ft. of snow from a 24 ft. x 30 ft. flat roof and did not experience lower back pain and stiffness.
They have given me tools that I can continue to use to stay physically active and relatively pain free and protect my joints at the same time.
I like the fact that there are 3 locations and that the therapy is the same at each location.

My headline says it all! I've never had successful physical therapy before until I saw Robbie at the Beaverton clinic. My shoulder was completely broken for the last 4 years and nothing helped. The exercises I learned at CH helped me work out again like I used to but without all the pain and Robbie's also really knowedgeable about how to do them so that I know WHY to do them in such a way. My doctor was amazed at my progress and he raves about them like I do. Go to CH if you want the best!

C.H. physical therapists are top notch! At 81 years old and feeling every year of it, the therapists at C.H. helped me improve my balance so that I can walk with my cane again without being scared of falling. It was very hard work but my doctor told me it would be because that's C.H.'s reputation. Insurance coverage was also very good and the front office secretaries helped make sure that my treatment sessions were all covered. I give C.H. my highest recommendation for helping seniors get better!

Finally, after 4 months of physical therapy at CH, I'm able to sleep again. My orthopedic surgeon referred me to CH after a horrible car acident 2 years ago. I could hardly turn my neck without serious pain for months. The thought of lifting weights to get better scared me to death but Colin showed me how so that I could recover as quickly as possible. I think the best thing for me was the combination of physical therapy at CH and adjustments by my chiropractor, and I really appreciated Colin's willingness to work with my chiropractor to make sure my treatments worked together instead of against each other. Colin also helped me eat better and loose 17 pounds during the course of physical therapy. It was amazing to me how much better I felt going to physical therapy just by changing a few things around in my food habits and sleeping has never been better. I give CH my highest recommenedation!!

After having physical therapy twice for my ankle and foot with little results, I found out about this clinic by watching "The Fitness Show" on PBS. My email was responded to promptly by Colin (much appreciated!) and I got a referral by my chiropracter. What struck me most about CH is it's attention to detail with my exercises as they don't let you get away with doing ANYTHING wrong! Everything they had me do was well worth my time and energy and I simply cannot believe how much better my ankle feels! My only complaint is that I wish I would've known about CH sooner so I could have saved all that time and money wasted on lousy physical therapy. The office staff is also first rate and always helpful, but parking can be an issue when going to the pearl location.

I've only been to CH a few months: My shoulder and neck are definitely feeling better. There seems to be alot of staff turnaround, for the clinic itself being so nice I can't understand why there staff is so unstable. My biggest concern is how well the owner Colin Hoobler actually screens his staff or takes the time out to get a criminal background check, considering his new office manager is a convicted felon. I had my physical therapist ask me if I would actually refer anyone, I told him "no", to many faces, I wanted only one physical therapist and ended up seeing more than two, I also had problems with my bills, I've had quite a number of friends and business partners who have needed physical therapy; CH would not be the place to send them. Thank you Andre and Robi for doing a wonderful job. Keep up the good work.

The best thing my husband and I ever did for ourselves was to start streghtening exercises to alleviate some of the chronic pain we tolerated everyday. Robert Fleming (Tanasbourne Clinic) and the orthopedic doctors cured my husband of his chronic knee pain. For the last 20+ years every time he started an exercise program his right knee would swell and be so painful he either used crutches or a cane to get around. Now, he looks forward to our walks in Portland. For myself, I've tolerated shoulder/neck and hamstring pain for most of my life. Lately, it got to the point where I wasn't able to enjoy my hobbies, photography and computer graphics. With every visit to see Robi, my pain decreased until today I am able to once again enjoy my hobbies.

Colin Hoobler is nothing short of a miracle worker. He has worked for the past several months with my 87 year old MIL. She could hardly get out of the car and suffered from multiple pains. She also was dizzy most of the time. Working hand in glove with a neurologist, Colin has transformed her into a mobile senior citizen. She can get around without a walker most of the time now. Previously, she was hard pressed to get up one step. Now she can walk right up a whole flight of steps and can get back down without assistance. This progress can be directly tied to Colin's patience and professionalism, combined with an infectious sense of humor that keeps my MIL relaxed and focused on the road to better health.

Physical therapy was great but the office manager short with dark hair was rude and I didnt appreciate her attitude. I almost didnt want to return because she was snotty and sarcastic which didnt seem pleasant. I would recommend CH for Physical Therapy because they do work wonders but maybe a different location than the Pearl because anyone who has to deal with their office manager is sure to have a bad morning.

My doctor sent me to CH because I kept falling all the time. She told me that if I did not get some help with my balance that I would likely hurt my hip and need surgery. This scared me, so I finally got motivated to go to PT and I am so glad I did. I got the best therapist in the business, Colin Hoobler. He was kind but pushed me to improve at every appointment. At 84 years old, I never realized that I could exercise and get better without pain. I'm so much better with my balance now and can walk with my cohorts at home. I'll always be indebted to Colin for his help.

I dislocated my shoulder snow skiing this past year and was told by a doctor that I'd have to be immobilized for 3 months followed by 6 months of rehab. Not wanting to believe this, I called C.H. and got an entirely different opinion from Colin, who told me to start PT immediately but carefully. 4 months later and I'm able to do all my sports that I want to (rock climbing, water skiing) and stronger than I was BEFORE I was injured. I'm so thankful to Colin and Scott for helping me recover so quickly and effectively, and now I know how to exercise safely to prevent future problems. Want the best PT? Go to C.H.!

I am much stronger and have more energy than when I started 3 months ago. I was often tired after the workouts but never sore the next day. Scott really understood my goals, which were to be 6o years old able to walk and hike and bike, and not be exhausted by my grandchildren.

I had knee pain and swelling for almost 7 years before being referred to CH by my chiropractor. It was kind of a surprise to me to have my chiropractor refer me to PT, because I always thought chiropractors and PT's don't get along. But she told me that CH offers a 'very different' therapy service and that I should give it a try. I'M SO GLAD I DID!!! Robbie was great from start to finish and always kept me interested and made it fun to exercise. My knee stopped hurting after 4 months and I can jog and play with my dog again. My chiropractor (who I still see) swears by CH and now so do I. Nothing but complements for a great company.

I have been to many physical therapists in the past for a variety of reasons. After suffering a ruptured disk in my neck from a car accident I needed surgery to alleviate the constant pain. After the surgery I was still a little weak in one arm and had some tingling in my neck. I went to CH physical therapy because they were conveniently located and took my insurance. I am really glad I did. Andre had me lift weights and stretch to fix my weakness and discomfort. I was dubious at first but within two weeks I was seeing improvement. After a month I could go a week before I would experience greatly reduced symptoms. After two and a half months I am completely back to normal and have a great strengthening program I can use on my own. Andre's knowledge and experience helped me get my life back. I am grateful for finding and using CH physical therapy.

I hurt my shoulder playing tennis last year and was told by my doctor at the time I would need surgery to fix it. There was no way I could do this because of insurance reasons so I went to C.H. for a 2nd opinion and found out there are excercises I can do instead of surgery. After working with a couple different therapist's, (Collin is the BEST!), for 3 months I am finally able to play tennis again without pain. This place is the best!

I am so grateful I was referred by my internist to CHPT for help with nagging lower back pain that had plagued me since childhood. I wasn't able to fully enjoy any activity (walking, running, bike riding, weight lifting, even yoga...) without significant discomfort.
Thanks to Colin, I am now pain free and in the best shape of my life. Once I had completed the prescribed pt sessions, I continued to train with Colin and his exceptional staff and have reached fitness goals I never thought possible. I really appreciate that I have been taught not just the "how" of exercise, but the science of "why". Colin's workouts and dietary guidelines are based on solid medical research, not the latest fad or book of the month.
Sessions with any of the highly qualified therapists at C.H.P.T. are the greatest gift you can give yourself - I'm Hooked!

It took me a while to find this place, but once I did I was impressed. I desperately needed physical therapy for my left ankle so I could take my dog out for his daily exercise, and the service I received at CH is rivaled by NOBODY. I was taught how to do my exercises safely and without pain (a miracle, if you ask me) by Robbie and Colin, 2 gentlemen who really know there ways around the ankle. What blew me away is how weakness in my hip muslces affected my ankle pain! The scheduling can get a little tough at times because it gets crowded, but overall this was well worth my time and insurance covered it all!

I'm a 68 years old and live alone. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and spine stinosis (did I spell that right?) by my wonderful doctor. She told me that exercise could really help me and wanted me to go see Collin at CH Physical Therapy near my house. She said that his group "is the best in town" so I went. She was right! Collin and his therapists really know what they are doing but they are also REALLY CARED about me as a person. I also got scheduled with Andre Tate, PT. He was also just wonderful in helping me get my balance better. I didnt know that making my muscles sore was actually a good thing but it was all explained clearly and simply so I now understand how to exercise right. You would think that a guy like Collin would be hard to approach because of his recent television success but he is not. Teaching people how to get better is his passion and it shows.

My neurologist referred me to Colin Hubler for physical therapy at C.H. to help me walk again after having a stroke last year before Christmas. I have to be honest, I procrastanated for 2 months before getting the courage up to make the call for my first appointment. The therapy that I recieved from Mr. Hubler was professional and always worth while. He knew how to moitvate me to always do more than I thought I could but never begrudging in any way. My dignity was always high when leaving my therapy appointments because I never was asked to do something I couldn't. I also had the privilege of being the patient of Mr. Fleming, who also knew his stuff. What impressed me the most with my therapy was that Colin and Robby always communicated about my therapy so that no matter who I was seeing that day, the therapy exercises always seemed right. My wife is so happy now that I don't need a wheelchair anymore and I owe it all to Colin and C.H. PT. My neurologist is also happy as a clam with my progress!

Everybody is very professional and friendly there. Scott worked with me on my frozen shoulder and my range of movement has dramatically improved in a very short time. He taught me to use muscles that I didn't know I have them -- with patience, good explanations, and quite a sense of humor. He really knows what he's doing, so if I needed PT in Portland again, I would always go and work with him.

He really knows what he's doing, so if I needed PT in Portland again, I would always go and work with him.

I had been to PT 3 times before going to CH PT, and all 3 times were exactly the same: heat pads, ultrasound, band exercises, massage, and almost no exercise. My orthopedist referred me to this clinic because he said it was different, but I wasn't very optimistic, especially since my neck had been in severe pain for almost a year from a car accident. I could certainly tell that it was going to be different from the first time I walked in. The amount of equipment this place has is overwhelming, and the therapists all look like they practice what they preach. The exercises were TOTALLY different! The precision that was demanded of my technique was amazing, and I could always tell when I was doing it wrong because it caused pain. The stretches I was provided gave me instant relief at work. I'm also thinner and better able to fit into my clothes. If you want a completely different PT experience that works, go to CH PT. I give them my highest recommendation!!

Pros: Different from the usual therapy, great therapists, locations are convenient, equipment

These types of reviews have never been my thing. But when I received the service I did at CH, I feel compelled to let everyone know that this is BY FAR the BEST place for PT anywhere. The physical therapists are caring, compassionate, and really know their stuff and the office staff is great too. I've never felt this great!

I dislocated my shoulder skiing last year and was never in so much pain. The doctor at the orthopedic office told me that I needed to sling my shoulder for 2 months and then start physical therapy. I called Colin at C.H. and after a thorough examination of my shoulder, suggested that I start therapy right away because otherwise my muscles would shrink to nothing and make rehab that much harder after 2 months of doing nothing. We started slowly and what I noticed was how important my form is on the exercises to make sure my shoulder joint bones stay in place while focusing on the right muscles to make them stronger. Colin was right there to make sure my shoulder blade and other stuff was in the exact position becuase when it wasn't, PAIN!! I am indebted to Colin and his AWESOME company for saving my 2007 summer. Go C.H.!!!

It's amazing to me how I've been able to get by all these years being so out of shape. It was only 2 years ago that I started having knee and back problems and I know for a fact it was from being out of shape. My sister went to this place for physical therapy for her hip and highly recommended it to me, so I decided to give it a try. What I REALLY apprecitaed about c.h. was that I went there for training and during my meeting with my trainer, I was shocked to find out that I would qualify for insurance coverage for physical therapy! This saved me a lot of money and allowed me to come 1-2 times a week to get my program together. My back and knees now feel SO much better thanks to c.h. and I now know how to work out safely on top it. Being a veteran of physical therapy (4 car accidents in 10 years) I can tell you that this is THE BEST place for therapy anywhere. I give them my strongest recommendation!

Pros: Learned how to exercise to decrease my pain, great equipment, wonderful physical therapists, location is perfect

Cons: A little difficult to get good appointment times sometimes

I initially came to CH for physical therapy. My neurologist sent me there to help cure my low back pain (which I had for 15 years), much to my amazement as I told her I had already been to therapy TWICE with NO improvement. So my expectations were not exactly on the high side. When starting my treatment at CH, it was very different from the beginning because of the thoroughness of my consultation and how easy it was to get my insurance to cover my treatment. Colin discovered several problems missed by even my neurologist, such as muscle atrephy in my hip muscles that help me walk normally. I now go to CH for personal training services every so often and just love the whole staff there. I'm stronger in my hips and rest of my body. And as Colin told me from the beginning: I'm the strongest I've ever been in my mind! I keep trying to get my husband to go to CH but he's too stubborn. But there's no doubt about the wonderful progress I've made because of how CH handles its business and patients. Two thumbs up!!!

All I wanted from therapy at CH was to be able to walk without pain in my right knee. At 62 years old and feeling every minute of it, my geriatrician told me to try therapy at this clinic because so many of her patients had experienced beautiful results. The arthritis in my knee had steadily grown worse to where I could no longer play with my grandchildren in the park, and this was my major goal. What I got from working with Colin as my therapist was not just a knee that doesn't hurt anymore, but I can do something that I haven't been able to do in almost a decade: I jumped! I did it on accident while playing with my grandchildren in the park and with ZERO pain! I was so excited that I called CH to tell Colin to share in my amazement. It's been almost 3 years since going to PT with Colin, but I still do my exercises every week and still have a knee that fully functions. My doctor is happy, my grandchildren are happy, Colin is happy, how could I ask for anything more?

Cons: Parking is a little far away

In 1999, I was in a serious car accident that practically disabled me. My doctor (in New York at the time) told me that I would always have pain and walk with a limp. Unwilling to accept my prognosis, I tried everything from physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, personal trainers, massage therapists, you name it. NOTHING helped fix my neck and back problems. In 2006, I had another car accident that wasn't nearly as bad but aggravated my neck/back problems more, which was the last thing I needed. My new Portland doctor told me about C.H. and how different their approach is, so I gave it a try but with little expectations. WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! My physical therapist, Colin Hoobler, worked patiently but with high expectations of me for 8 months and literally transformed my life. My neck/back pain are not completely gone, but much more manageable. I'm 33# lighter and MUCH stronger than I ever been. I know how to exercise correctly to control my injuries instead of the other way around. I've sent several of my coworkers to C.H. and the response is always the same: C.H. is the BEST place for P.T. anywhere!!

Colin has the best show in town! He obviously knows what he's doing because he has his own television shows and is expanding his business faster than a rabbit on wheels. He's also widely respected by doctors as I've personally talked to a few of them who see Colin regualrly for fitness guidance. I had really bad planter fashiitis (sp???) and could barely walk when I came to Colin a year ago. I was also really overweight. Colin showed me how to exercise right so that my foot stopped hurting and had the kindest touch and demeanor during the process. Besides making my foot stop hurting I also dropped almost 20 pounds, learned how to eat right and also joined a gym. I now exercise 3 times a week (3 more than I had for 20 years before Colin) and love every minute of it. I see Colin a couple times a month for his wit, great sense of humor, and motivation. I'll always rely on CH for my fitness!

For the last 2 years I have had knee troubles that eventually caused me to stop playing golf. My doctor gave me countless steroid injections that did nothing to help. Last year, I heard about this clinic through a friend of mine who had therapy there for her shoulder and so I decided to give them a try. My doctor said that physical therapy probably wouldn't do anything but make me feel "warm and fuzzy" for an hour but I wanted to try it anyway, because the CH website implied that the therapy was different from other places. To say that the therapy helped is an understatement! I'm stronger than I ever have been, leaner, and able to play golf with my wife again because my knee just does not hurt anymore. My most difficult club, the driver, is no problem anymore with my new fitness and to top it off, insurance covered the whole thing! How could you get any better than that!

The training I've received at CH has been first class ever since my first session there about one year ago. The trainers are knowledgeable and creative in their craft because no matter the time constraint I have on any given day, they are able to give me a workout that gets me results. Collin's the best trainer ANYWHERE, hands down not just because he's smart but because he knows how to apply his education to his profession to help me achieve my fitness dreams. He defintiely walks the walk and I really appreciate this as an artist because this guy is passionate about what he does and it shows. The front office staff has always been great with handling my scheduling demands and that's not easy to do for this man. If anything else, go to CH just to experience training from a first class company that's the best at what they do. One of my friends sees Robbie for therapy on her shoulder and she loves it.
