Dr. Oscar B. Goodman, Jr. is a physician-scientist and medical oncologist at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada who has a special interest in clinical research and the treatment of prostate cancer.
Dr. Goodman completed his undergraduate studies at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pa., earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College and his PhD at Thomas Jefferson University, both in Philadelphia. Dr. Goodman completed his internship and residency in internal medicine, and fellowships in Hematology and Medical Oncology at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Campus, in New York City.
Dr. Goodman is a physician-scientist. His research in circulating tumor cells focuses on using these cells as the basis for personalized therapies against prostate and other cancers. Prior to joining Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada in 2012, Dr. Goodman worked as a medical oncologist at the UC San Diego Nevada Cancer Institute.
Before moving to Las Vegas, Dr. Goodman worked as a clinical associate and later as a physician for the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology, at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Campus, in New York City. He holds an adjunct research faculty appointment at Roseman University of Health Sciences, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

He has earned multiple awards during his career. Dr. Goodman is a recipient of the Young Investigator Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology and also has been named a Regional Top Doctor by US News and World Report and Castle-Connolly. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications as well as active peer-reviewed translational research support through the Department of Defense.
Dr. Goodman is a native of Las Vegas. In his spare time he enjoys family time with his wife, Ana, a pediatric physical therapist, his two children, and his extended family. His favorite leisurely activities include hiking and water sports.
