One star was only because I had to fill one in before it would let me post.I herniated 2 discs during labor. 16 days after my first surgery, I re- herniated a disc and drove myself to Southern Bone & Joint. Upon my arrival, I was told my doctor (Henry Barnard) was not in. I explained my injury to the nurse and begged her to get me a doctor on call. She opened my file, assured me that I had plenty of pain medicine and told me to go home and call back the next day to see if I could get an appointment within the next two weeks. By this time, I was in tears. I left their office and drove myself to the emergency room. An MRI showed that I had indeed re- herniated my disc. I was in surgery again the next day. Upon waking from the second surgery, I knew something was horribly wrong. Dr. Barnard acted as if I was making it up because of the incident with the Nurse Gilmore. I immediately scheduled an appointment at Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia. I went to pick up my medical records from Southern Bone & Joint and they were VERY RUDE to me. My medical records also read as if I was making it up. Dr. Burkus at Hughston scheduled me for a milogram and a discogram. After 14 inches of titanium rod and a very long recovery, I am able to walk and play with my children. Everyone at Hughston Hospital and Clinic were so nice to us and we were there for several days. I would not let Southern Bone & Joint do surgery on my dog- seriously. I am grateful that it was not my Mother or even my Grandmother that they treated this way. I am also very grateful to Dr. Burkus at the Hughston Clinic. Again, my experience at Southern Bone & Joint was one of the most horrible in my life!!!!!

My son (age 6 at the time) broke his leg, The staff was very friendly and explained things to him on his age level so he would not be frightened by what was going on. The office is very clean, parking is adequate. The wait was on average about 15 minutes. My son was impressed with all the cast colors and got the last of the camo. My dad, grandmother and grandfather has also used them for leg problems, knee problems and carpal tunnel syndrome. They have provided excellent care and I would highly recommend the doctors at Southern Bone and Joint to anyone in the area.

Southern bone and joint is the best place to go. They can do x-rays right there. No need to make an out patient appointment anywhere else. They also read it right there as well. They have helpful waiting rooms. With special chairs for different patients. I.e. Hip replacement. The doctors and staff are very nice there.
