Dr. McDonald is FABULOUS - kind, compassionate, gentle, caring, and extremely sensitive to the needs of his patient. Maintains an upbeat, positive AND reassuring even when delivering some pretty serious results. I had some really good results and then some potentially very serious results - He strongly suspected uterine cancer, but he was as upbeat and positive when giving bad news as he was in delivering bad news. He is direct, but NEVER rude. He spends time and goes over things in great detail, but very clearly - not a lot of medical mumbo-jumbo. He takes the time to actually SHOW you exactly what he is talking about, what he thinks the problem is and WHY he thinks that. I have worked for doctors for many years and have not always had a very high opinion of SOME of them, enough to not trust many of them, but Dr. McDonald has dispelled my previously VERY NEGATIVE opinion of doctors! In this day of "assembly line medicine" where the goal seems to be "get 'em in - get 'em out" it is refreshing to see a doctor who actually KNOWS how to practice medicine and treats the patient as a WHOLE - not just a condition. He treats every aspect of the patient, physically as well as emotionally. He goes the extra mile for the patient's comfort - he did his best to rush my results because it was OBVIOUS that the situation had severely stressed me out. He is upbeat and positive, and very honest, but not in a hurtful way. It turns out that I do NOT have uterine cancer (PRAISE GOD!!), but I still need another procedure. It's okay with me, because I can trust Dr. McDonald to do what is my best interest - is it exciting to think of surgery - of course not, but he is doing what is best for me to eliminate ANY possibiity of future problems (had some cells that have potential for turning into bad guys - dont want THEM!) Shannon (Dr. McDonald's nurse) is wonderful too, and she told me from the very first time I saw him that he would take good care of me, and he has. The staff in his office is excellent - in fact, before I made an appointment with him, I did kind of a "phone interview" with his staff. I had done the same with a couple other doctors that I was considering and I made my decision to go to Dr. McDonald based on a friend who had personal experience with him, his staff's assessment of him, and the friendlness of the staff who answered the phones and made appointments. They were willing to talk to me, answer as many questions as I had and even offered to have me come in and meet Dr. McDonald so I could decide whether I liked him or not before I actually saw him for an examination - WOW!! That spoke volumes to me - that is total confidence! I had just seen a doctor a few weeks before that I wish I had been able to meet in advance, because I would have run away as far as possible!! So.....if you are looking for a great doctor, with a great staff - Dr. McDonald is your man. NO - I am NOT being PAID for this endorsement!!
