.

I called ahead to make an appointment for the Doctor, and spoke to the employee on the phone about my needs. I told them I needed to get a prescription for both glasses and contact lenses, that I wore two different types of lenses, and that I needed to make sure I would have the prescription when I walked out the door. I mentioned that I would not be buying any "hardware" at the time of the appointment. Everything was met with a positive reaction so I made the appointment.

When I arrived for the appointment I was taken care of promptly in regards to paperwork, and initial eye tests that are completed by the none medical certified personnel. Then I met Dr Kane. It was at this point, when I had already gone through a number of tests, that she informed me I would not be able to get my prescription for contact lenses until a follow up appointment a week after wearing the specific brand that would be on the prescription. Understand that I have already gone through half of the exam at this point. Since it was Monday I felt I could come back on Friday or Saturday (since I was leaving the country on Sunday) and still be ok. It wasn't until the END of the eye exam that she then told me the only way I could get the prescription for the Durasoft lenses was if I purchased them so she could order them for the trial week. She did tell me that I could get a refund if they didn't work out - but that I had to pay to get them ordered. I informed her that I was told on the phone I could get a prescription for glasses and contacts on the day of the appointment - at which point she became very irrate and condescending. At one point when I mentioned that I would be out of the country - which is why I asked all the question on the phone before the appointment - she shot back with "I can't do ANYTHING about YOUR schedule!".

AVOID THIS MESS AT ALL COSTS. Go to a reputable optometrist, I think maybe this one got her medical license from a Cracker Jack box.
