With a premedical degree from MIT, a medical degree from Columbia and a postgraduate medical degree from Harvard, Dr. David S. Rho, M.D. bears credentials befitting the president's personal physician! In addition to English, Dr. Rho speaks fluent Korean and Spanish and patients whose native languages are any of these and are in need of an ophthalmologist who specializes in the health of the retina would greatly benefit from Dr. Rho's professional care.

Dr, Rho has been seeing me for a hemorrhage in one of my eyes for over two years now. Recently, I went totally blind in my right eye for a period of approximately three minutes before recovering. Dr. Rho saw me promptly and after extensive testing could find nothing wrong with the eye per se. He then feared a condition called amaurosis fugax, which is a form of a transient ischemic attack ("TIA") or "mini-stroke' and ordered ultrasound tests at a cardiologist's office.

The result of one of the tests revealed that I had a severe plaque blockage in my right carotid artery that required either surgery or the insertion of a stent as soon as possible. As TIA's are often the harbingers of far more serious strokes, Dr. Rho's professional judgment and attentiveness to the pathology of my symptoms--exhibiting a cross-specialty acumen--very possibly saved my life or saved me from severe disability.

Although thoroughly professional, Dr. Rho is patient and has a very pleasant metaphorical bedside manner. He is associated with Soll Eye Associates, a longtime and highly regarded Philadelphia eye care medical practice. I would unreservedly recommend Dr. Rho and Soll Eye to all in need of professional ophthalmologic services.

Dr. Rho is very knowledgeable and articulate. I was seen by many doctors before coming to Dr. Rho who finally told me what I had and treated me appropriately. He was patient and kind and caring.

I would highly recommend Dr. Rho to anyone who has an eye problem.
