Marsfield Dental Clinic in general is a major ripoff. They are very expensive, most of their dentists have no personality nor care for their patients.
They love to have you pay your bill in full and then a month later tell you "oops", you owe us more money- we made a mistake! This has happened to me as well as others I have talked to.
I am not going back to Marshfield Dental Clinic - EVER!
I have gone to the Dental Clinic of Marshfield for over 5 years, due to insurance requirements, and I have been very dissatisfied with the service offered by several dentists. Both Dr. Morel and Dr. Larson were VERY rude and patronizing to me, treating my questions about my care with contempt. When I came in with an absessed tooth and requested to have it removed after being on the antibiotic (so the swelling and pain would go down), I was told it could only be extracted when it was infected. My mother had this done by a quack dentist one time, and it was one of the most painful experiences of her life. She was told to sue the dentist as pulling an absessed tooth is considered archaic in most civilized places of our country. After the swelling of my tooth had ceased, I was referred to the Oral Surgery department, which not only cost more, but I could not be seen for several months.
On a positive note, Dr. Horton, my children's dentist, was very kind with my children. Since he is the ONLY pediatric dentist in the Clinic, however, to see him one must wait at least a month or more to get an appointment. Why does such a "professional" large organization such as Marshfield Clinic employ only ONE pediatric dentist when there are so many children that need to be seen? If you have any other options, I would suggest going to any other dental office or clinic, as the care is mediocre at best and you may be patronized or treated with rudeness by various secretaries or appt. coordinators, especially if you ask for a second opinion or don't agree with a dentist.
My entire family goes to the Dental Clinic of Marshfield for our dental care. We most recently started taking our 3 year old here as well, because he has some cavities. After a bad experience at another dentist, the Dental Clinic of Marshfield put my fears at ease from the very first phone call to them about my son. They have taken their time with him and done everything in their power to make a 3 year a real pro at getting dental work done in a pain-free manor and with no tears. Dr. Paul Bruce is a saint when it comes to working with anxious patients, especially children. I highly recommend him, even though he is not a pediatric dentist.
The orthodontists at the Dental Clinic of Marshfield definately can related very well with young kids. For children who fear the dentist, they put the kids at ease and talk them through each phase before they move forward, making sure all of the kids questions have been answered.
