.

Dr. Reddy saw my mother twice in the ER, and both times, he missed a very common problem in the elderly, atrial fibrillation. Mother had already suffered two transient ischemic attacks and when he saw her the second time, she actually was suffering a stroke in progression. Both times, he was the admitting physician. He sent Mother home the first time without diagnosing her atrial fibrillation, and the very next day, I had to call 911. She was taken by ambulance to the same hospital where Dr. Reddy was once again the admitting physician. After I noticed that Mom's heart rate was erratic on the monitor in the ER I brought it to his attention, and asked for a cardiology consult He give us a hard time about calling in a cardiologist. He also gave us a hard time regarding ordering a Holter monitor. (to detect, record arrythmmia) Because of our persistence, he finally called in Dr. Craig Barnett, per our wishes, who correctly diagnosed Mom with afib.
A nurse caught another grave mistake made by Dr. Reddy during Mom's second hospitalization. Dr. Reddy failed to review Mother's chart before writing her discharge orders, and sent her home with instructions for a home healthcare nurse to administer Levenox, a blood thinner given subcuteneously, which most likely could have killed her, as her blood was far too thin. Thankfully, the discharge nurse was more on the ball than Dr. Reddy. I could not, in good conscience, recommend this physician to anyone.
