I can't speak highly enough about the care I recieved from Dr. Chen. I had to have three wisdom teeth and one lower canine pulled, the latter issue being caused by shoddy dentistry over the years. Dr. Chen put me at complete ease, sitting me down and explaining the procedures in full detail. He made me feel as if I was part of the procedure rather than a bystander. He even called me at home the night of the procedure to check in on me. Its now the next morning and I have literally no pain from the procedure. I can not speak highly enough of him.

I must comment on Dr. Chen's skill and professionalism. I was missing 3 teeth (for about 10 years) on my lower left jaw. I was told by many dentists that I was not a candidate for implants. The bone there was too thin, not enough bone, etc. After consulting with Dr Chen, he was very reassuring that he could do implant using bone graft material.
Through his unique surgical skill and expertise, he put in 2 implants. I now have a permanent bridge over them, and I am able to chew food and I feel better. If other dentists tell you that you're not a candidate for implants, see Dr. Chen. If he can't do it, I doubt any other surgeon can. Five *****

We had a dental emergency involving an autistic adult that somehow sustained a broken rear molar lower left and was in PAIN--my son. It was already late in the afternoon and I knew he would need this tooth removed but with the assistance of nitrous and a good local block. I googled emergency extractions and came up with this Dr Chen and phoned the office and explained everything- I was told to bring him in and let the doctor take care of this and I ALSO SCANNED THE REVIEWS for this doctor and saw nothing negative at all which meant a lot--
WE had to wait about 35-45 minutes due to the situation and my son's capacity to deal with discomfort (he obviously has a high tolerance ),and the office is beautiful with a wonderful and amazing fish tank and of course a flat screen.I'm sure if my son was acting out due to being in pain something would be done and of course with no appt those WITH appts had to have their appointed surgeries done on time due to fasting etc--right ?

I would say that this office is extremely well run with a steady flow of patients signing in and those walking out without a traffic jam at the desk--
Now meeting our DrChen was wonderful,he explained what i already knew about those miserable impacted wisdoms plus the broken molar and we discussed quickly the additional option of removing those wisdoms since deep sedation would be used--this was done--and my son has absolutely NO POST-OP discomfort swelling or difficulties and this IS due to a knowledgable and GIFTED oral surgeon who ALSO IS a wonderful person ! thank you DrChen and staff and thanks to all taking the time to post their reviews !

Amazing oral surgeon, so good I haven't felt any pain from the tooth extraction and stitches. But the best part was that I called around 5 to make appt and told them that I recently had blood tests with a high white blood cell count. The receptionist spoke to the doctor and he said I should come straight in. I was there in ten minutes. I have never gotten an appt with anyone so quickly. The xray machine is actually a cat scan so I could see exactly what was going on, and Dr. Harrison Chen carefully pointed out a number of things. I was informed throughly of what the procedure would be, how much it cost, what aftercare was, and they called in my antibiotic and pain medicine to my local pharmacy so it was ready when I got home. Total service--I had the tooth taken out right then, none of that initial visit and come back for the extraction. He called later to see how I was, another first. Plus they have an excellent salt water fish tank in waiting room. Really nice staff. I rate him and his staff as the best..And though the general anethesia cost a LOT, it was my choice to have it or not, he told me ahead of time what it cost . Aand having such good results, I trust him to do just as painless a procedure without it.

I brought my daughter to Dr. Chen's office to get her wisdom teeth out. We were referred to the office by a close friend of mine. My daughter has probably the greatest dental phobia (or just plain doctor phobia) of anyone in our family. But after the initial consultation, she liked him enough for us to schedule the surgery. Dr. Chen was very pleasant, detail-oriented, and the staff and facility was very patient-friendly. As a mother I was very impressed and felt at ease with putting my child under Dr. Chen's care. The surgery went very smoothly and my daughter was very happy with being put under sedation and not remembering anything from the surgery. When we had questions about the aftercare during the weekend after the procedure, we were able to get a hold of Dr. Chen on the phone. I am grateful to Dr. Chen and his staff for taking such good care of my daughter, and I think that this good experience will certainly deflate any future fear that she has at the doctor's office.

Being put to sleep for dental surgery is the way to go! I was referred to Dr. Chen by my regular dentist to get my wisdom teeth pulled. My dentist said he himself is not specialized in removing impacted wisdom teeth but that Dr. Chen is his specialist of choice, and that Dr. Chen accepted my insurance. So I ended up calling Dr. Chen??s office for an appointment. On my way to Dr. Chen??s office, as I looked at Dr. Chen??s card, I thought to myself, ??oral? and ??surgery? are probably the two most painful words put together. During the consultation, Dr. Chen went over the procedure and he was as nice and attentive to detail as a doctor could be, but I swear I was in so much fear and anxiety I probably only heard about half of what he said. Once the office manager went over the insurance coverage and finances we were ready to go. The last thing I remembered before waking up from the anesthesia with the surgery already done was me uttering something to Dr. Chen about being hungry just as he was starting the procedure. I didn??t feel or remember a thing from the surgery?it was unbelievable. Dr. Chen??s staff was also very thorough and informative with regard to the aftercare. The facility was top-notch and as much as I don't like going to the dentist, it was a much easier ordeal than expected.

I found the office online after reading the online reviews. I had a missing tooth and my colleagues told me that I needed to see an oral surgeon. Nervous and apprehensive, I ended up in the waiting room of Dr. Chen's office. The zen-like atmosphere and the friendliness of the front desk staff made my heart rate drop within the first ten minutes of getting there. When I finally met Dr. Chen, he was informative, knowledgeable, and attentive to detail. I felt very comfortable with the consultation and scheduled the surgery for the dental implant. It was as easy of a procedure as I could have asked for; the entire procedure took about twenty minutes and other than the novocaine injection it was, quite unbelievably, pain free. The doctor called me the night of the surgery to follow up. I really felt like I got a five-star treatment with the entire process. It was as easy of an experience at a surgeon's office as one can get. I highly recommend Dr. Chen.

I was referred to Dr. Chen by one of my colleagues who had a pleasant experience with Dr. Chen. I was originally referred to another oral surgeon in Midtown by my dentist, but I was a bit turned off by that surgeon, and so I decided to seek a second opinion with Dr. Chen. I am an MD, and I have my own private practice in the Upper East Side. I must say that I was thoroughly impressed by the level of professionalism and efficiency of the office, as well as the skills of the doctor. The consultation began with a state-of-the-art in-office CT scan which was impressive and the image clearly indicated the area of the problem. After Dr. Chen thoroughly diagnosed the problem, explained in detail the planned treatment, I was taken to a conference room where the office manager then went over my insurance coverage and cost break-down. The surgery was then scheduled on the following Friday. The procedure was quick and painless as I opted for the intravenous sedation...I did not feel or remember a thing. Dr. Chen's assistants were very thorough with the post-op instructions. The doctor himself called me in the evening to follow up. This was something that is rarely seen in today's healthcare profession. Kudos to Dr. Chen and his office. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs oral surgery.

I was in pain from a bad tooth ache one Saturday and was in dire need of a dentist. I looked for a dentist online and found Dr. Chen to be open on the weekends. Thinking back, I am sooo lucky to have found the right doctor. Dr. Chen saw me right away that day. The office was gorgeous, the facilities were top notch, and the staff was very kind and helpful. I was lucky that Dr. Chen's office took my insurance. Although I still had a deductible and some out of pocket to pay, the fact that I was seen so quickly that day, the easiness of the surgery, and the surprisingly (almost) painless recovery made it all worthwhile. Dr. Chen was nice and very attentive to detail. Even though I'm still a not fan of going to the dentists' office, I will say that my visit at Dr. Chen's office was one of the most pleasant experiences in a doctor's office I've ever had.

I was recommended to see Dr. Chen by my dentist. He told me that Dr. Chen was the very best, and he would trust for me to go to nobody else. He was 100% right. The minute I walked into Dr. Chen's office I immediately felt a sense of calm and serenity despite my excruciating tooth pain. The office was immaculate and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful with my insurance which did provide coverage for the procedure. Dr. Chen was professional, very knowledgeable, and definitely technologically saavy with the most up to date equipment. Although I ended up having to get my tooth extracted it was the best dental experience I ever had. Dr. Chen even called me the night of the surgery to check on me. I would highly recommend Dr. Chen to anyone who needs any kind of oral surgery. He indeed is the very best.

Dr. Chen is the best there is. I woke up one day with unbearable pain in my wisdom tooth. I went to work nonetheless and tried my best to power through the day. But when my co-workers pointed out to me that my face looked swollen by the hour I freaked out and called my dentist. He referred me to Dr. Chen, an oral surgeon in Midtown. I called the office and was greeted by the voice of a very friendly receptionist, who upon hearing about my misery asked me to go in immediately. Dr. Chen was booked and had patients that morning but squeezed me into his schedule. Seeing that I was in tears, he calmly went over the procedure that needed to be done. His gentle and humorous demeanor helped calm me down. The office manager went over my insurance information and and within twenty minutes I was put to sleep and Dr. Chen took the painful tooth out. It was the easiest visit to any dental office I had ever been to. The recovery was easy as well, with very very little pain and almost no swelling. I highly recommend Dr. Chen to anyone who ever has to go through what I went through that morning with the tooth ache.

His follow-up phone call after the surgery was the first time any doctor has ever called me to follow up on any appointment in a medical or dental office. I would recommend him to anyone I know who needs oral surgery.
