I have been seeing Dr. You around 7 years. She is very cautious in dispensing pain medication when taking in new patients, as well as with seasoned patients - as it should be with this type of a practice.

I have found her to be very friendly and highly sympathetic to my pain and illness once she got to know and trust me.

She is extremely knowledgeable about which treatment works for which type of pain and has many suggestions for alternate way to control chronic pain that do not involve drugs. She works diligently with each patient to find the perfect combination of treatments for that individual.

Once in a while the office is running behind, but I understand completely. Dr. You discusses personal aspects of her patients life during the appointment to gauge how we have managed our pain the previous month, thus giving her insight into how to proceed the following month. Sometimes this takes longer than a normally scheduled appt. and it puts her a bit behind. Personally, I'd rather be patient because next month, I might be the one that needs the extra time. I am happy she is willing to take longer if need be.

Dr. You has moved her practice to a larger office in Kennewick since some of the earlier reviews were written. She now has more office staff to help ease the patient load.

I went to the clinic seeking help and ended up with a misdiagnosis of fibromyalgia with little information from Dr. You. She spent maybe 5-10 minuthes with me and was very unempathetic. The pain medication gave me a reaction which put me in more pain, but she didn't identify it and just prescribed more, leaving me unable to work or drive or even enjoy time with my family as I was stuck in bed in pain all of the time. When I told Dr. You that the pharmacist mentioned that there might be an interaction with the pain medications she was prescribing, she started yelling at me and told me that she couldn't help me anymore and that I was having a mental breakdown which is why I believed the pharmacist who's job is not to educate patients but to just dispense medication. She yelled and told me that this was all in my head and that I needed to get psychiatric help. It wasn't until I got a second opinion from Swedish Hospital did I find out what was really wrong and they took me off of the pain medication and now I'm so much better.

Dr. You has a very clinical demeanor. It didn't seem like she was very sympathetic to patients pain. Had to wait quite a while to get in as a new patient and stayed in the waiting room a long time--even though there was only one other person there. Wasn't impressed with her at all. Didn't offer any new options.
