Not too long ago I injured my hand playing sports. I called Dr. Chambers' office and he answered the phone personally and told me that I should come right in and he will examine my hand. Turns out that after taking an x-ray in the office, he diagnosed me with a hand fracture which saved me a trip to the ER and recommended an orthopeadic specialist not too far away. I've been going to Dr. Chambers for about 15 years and have been treated with great care. Not to mention, his staff is awesome! Making appointments is always a breeze. They always welcome you with a smile and are happy to help. No wonder Dr. Chambers and his practice were named the outstanding family medical practice in Point Loma for 2010 & 2011. These surveys were done by the Peninsula Beacon on 09/08/11 (check it out for yourself). So I highly recommend Dr. Chambers to be your family doctor.

Don't be misled by the number of stars. And Dr. Chambers doesn't have 33 years of experience as listed. That would have been for his father, now deceased. The son goes by "Ned." Either he has AADD or just doesn't listen to his patients. Every time I went he had to ask me why I was there and about my history, even though he had my file in front of him. On the other hand, he instantly could tell me what was covered (very little) and wasn't (nearly everything) by my insurance plan. I had a chronic pain in one part of my chest and his diagnosis was, "I don't know what's causing that." He rushes you through and you come out poorer both financially and medically. And he does this really obnoxious little fist bump with you when you leave. I would rather drive down to TJ for medical treatment and risk being shot by a drug dealer than go to Dr. Chambers again.

Sorry, but our family thinks Dr. Chambers and his staff fails to remember what it's all about. Dr. Chambers office is very unclean. I have literally pulled toys from my sons hands after seeing the filth. The chairs are old and gross and the overall atmosphere is very uninviting. Visits are hurried and his staff is rude! If I were alone in thinking this, I would not write this review. Unfortunately, many patients and friends of ours withing the PL community agree...
I have had numberous experiences where his staff failed to call in Rx's causing me hours of wasted time, etc. Then, they were rude about it on top of that!
Dr. Chambers appears to be so caught up in the money making/ numbers game of treating work comp patients, etc. that he forgets to take his time with his long time patients and/or make his office a welcoming place for those same members of the community.
On the positive side, we will say that his pediatric office has finally been lucky enough to secure a friendly, competent Dr. who has stayed for more than 1 year. Her office is clean and fun. Unfortunately, Dr. Chambers and the rest of his office seem to fail in every way.
We have left this office to be treated by a former partner of Dr. Chambers and we are very happy there. We are sorry to be so negative, but our experiences with Dr. C's office over the past many years have been the worst!!
