A big warning to patients or potential patients. My mother was a patient of this evil drug pushing doctor for many years. She prescribed drugs that were addictive and NOT needed for my moms condition. She gave my mother meds for conditions she didn't even have. In 2010,under the medication Acosta provided, my Mother attempted suicide. Acosta was nowhere to be found in my mothers time of need and never provided an explanation as to why my mom was on such meds. My mother survived, thank god and doesn't need the meds this so called doctor provided. My mother, after under the care of a new competent doctor, never needed the addictive meds Acosta provided. She will prescribe anything to anyone as long as insurance allows. PLEASE be aware! I'm thankful I am writing a review and not a memorial for my mother.

Although Dr. Acosta has been my primary physician for 16 years, her office staff is the reason I am searching for another primary doctor. Dr. Acosta's office staff (which once was efficient and professional) is very rude, unkind, unfriendly, inefficient and extremely unprofessional. The office staff did not send my medical lab work requests when they said they did, denied a refill of a long-standing presecription order, wanted me to come in for a visit when nothing is wrong, laughs at the patient and speaks in Phillipino rather English in front of the patient. Quality care with Dr Acosta and her staff (which should be fired and replaced) is a thing of the past. It's a case of scheduling unnecessary appointments, taking more time off than expected of a Physician and as her retirement years draw near, so does the lack of quality healthcare. Money seems to be the alternative quest. Once Dr. Acosta retires, I will never step foot in her office again and take the abuse that her office staff dishes out to patients. Abusiveness is the key operative word regarding her staff and they should be reported by all patients that experience it to the Nevada Board of Physicians.

Dr. Acosta is a very nice lady, but staff is making her appear inefficient and discourteous to her patients. Staff member was rude and impolite.

Felt it was again a doctor simply collecting a paycheck and not listening. I just felt like no matter what I said or tried to it was just a quick hurry get out next type doctor more about quanity instead of quality. That is why healthcare reform needs to be done. It will hopefully combat weeding out this type of behavior which still to this date makes no sense to me when you look at your claims online? Just cant be simple.

As a health professional and consumer, Dr. Elvira Acosta, is the best MD you can find. No matter how full her waiting room is, she will spend as long as it takes to listen to every patient's needs, until everyone is seen.
With great understanding I know why they are willing to wait. She has a great a great staff as well. This is where compassion abounds. She takes care of my beloved mother.
Thanks Dr. Acosta and Staff,
Glenn E. del Rosario,RN

I would recommend this woman to anyone. She is a serious doctor when it comes to health. She does not slack off at all. If you need a prescription refill she insists on seeing you before she will do a refill. She will give an opinion on drugs that she prescribes and if she feels it will harm you , she will not prescrbe it. She is up to date on new medical breakthroughs and is serious about helping you get better.
