I can't say enough bad things about Clinton Hill Dental on DeKalb Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. In particular, this review concerns the younger dentist, Dr. Philip Epstein (not his father, Daniel D. Epstein). If I've made a mistake in the names, this review refers to the younger Dr. Epstein.

I moved to Brooklyn from Philly about a year ago and was referred to this office by someone on the Web, whom I thought I could trust. Dr. Philip Epstein has the back-slapping, smiling flair of a long-lost cousin or confidante. Don't be fooled by his demeanor. He is not a good dentist, and he certainly doesn't have your needs in mind. He is about to take your money and violate your trust.

I had an incredibly healthy dental regimen before I came there (regular cleanings, xrays, a few cavities, etc.) But as soon as I sat in Dr. Epstein's chair, he started to find "problems." A loose filling. "Whoa, looks like you have a cavity!" In my stupidity, I trusted him and he filled a few cavities.

Then, I wisened up and called my old dental office in Philly (that I loved.) The dental hygienist told me point-blank: "Your teeth were in perfect shape when you left for NYC. There's no way three cavities could miraculously appear when you got to New York. I'd find another dentist." I'm only sorry I didn't run away when I got to this office.

Stay far, far away from Dr. Philip Epstein. What a shame that his father doesn't know what his son is doing to the practice that he labored to build. I don't want to ruin Dr. Daniel Epstein's reputation (since I don't know him), but don't be fooled by Dr. Philip Epstein. He has his mind on your money, not your mouth.
