I am a 52 year old woman who other than having two children, has never needed a gyecologist. I have seen 2 other gynecologists but preferred my Family Practice physician for occasional check-ups. When I started having a problem with bleeding, I asked my Dr. for a female OB/GYN. I called the two references and they were unable to get me in quickly (I needed quickly as I was already anemic). Dr. Reuss was one of the male recomendations and when I talked to my daughter she told me that he delivered her last two babies and loved him. I called on a Friday they got me in on the following Monday. He requested testing, including a biopsy and gave me something to stop the bleeding. Two weeks later after test results and bleeding restarting we decided to go with a hysterectomy. As a bonus he also inserted a sling for stress incontenance (I can now cough without worry). Now for the the reason he is the BEST. HE called with the biopsy results. He gave me his cell phone # in case I had trouble removing the catheter after surgery so that he could meet me after spending all day at a conference on a Saturday. He called at 12:00pm to make sure the removal went okay and then at 3:00 to make sure everything was working okay. EVERYTHING about him and his office staff (Ivette went above and beyond to get me into surgery within 4 days)are wonderful. I have already recommended him to everyone I have seen and will continue to do so.

After reading the last review, I wonder if Dr. Reuss would feel about the conversation I had with his office staff this afternoon. I got the absolute opposite impression of his practice from them.
I am 6 months pregnant with my second boy and recently moved to the east valley and am looking for a new OB. I called his office and spoke to Ivette and after some confusion over my insurance being accepted there, I asked if I could set up a time to meet Dr. Reuss before scheduling an appointment and having my records transfered. She seemed confused, as though no one had ever asked her that question before. I clarified that I there were a few doctors in the area and I would like to meet them before choosing my new doctor. She said okay and placed me on hold for quite a while.
Finally, Carey picked up my call again and asked if I would like to make an appointment. I said I would just like to spend a couple of minutes to meet Dr. Reuss and ask a few questions. She also acted as if this was a completely unique (and ridiculous) request. Her (snobby) answer was "Actually, we don't DO meet and greets." And when I asked why, she explained that Dr. Reuss is a very busy doctor who doesn't have time to be meeting with potential patients-and indirectly told me that he doesn't see you unless you're going to be paying.
Dr. Reuss seems like a very qualified doctor and I'm sure is a nice person. However, I won't be able to find out because I think that a practice that is not willing to spend a few minutes to chat with a woman before she trusts them with the health of herself and her unborn child is not a place I feel comfortable with.
Not to mention I would not want to deal with the rudeness and carelessness with which the office staff treats its (potential) patients. There is plenty of competition in Scottsdale.

Dr. Reuss is my personal OB/GYN and is such a fantastic doctor. He delivered our son and is also going to deliver our child (expected 3/27/06). He is very personable, sincere, and gives you 100% of his attention while you?re in his care. He doesn?t do what most doctors do, which is make you feel rushed or give you the impression that he is too busy to talk with you about your concerns, make you feel like there is somewhere more important to be. Any concerns you may have are legitimate to him and he is excellent at answering any questions you have and making you feel more at ease about any situation.
