I was referred to this dentist by my daughters dentist because my daughter needed fillings and I was told this Dr. Long wouldn't have to sedate her. I was not allowed to be in the room with my daughter while she had her fillings, but was promised that there would be two nurses with her at all times, so I thought surely she would be fine. One nurse, in particular assured me that she understood how I felt, she had a daughter herself, and she would make sure my daughter was fine. My daughter came out after her fillings, SCREAMING and said that Dr. Long "put his hands around her throat" and told her to "shut up, she was hurting his ears." I immediately called and spoke to the nurse and asked why the dentist did this to my daughter, and of course she denied it. I informed her that I would be pressing charges. I went to the police department and made a report, where I was informed that there were several others who have made similar accusations about this dentist. I had to take my daughter to the hospital to be examined by a doctor, and they recorded her telling them what happened. I honestly can not wait to see this dentist sitting in jail, paying for what he has done to these childrens. I am ASHAMED of the parents who have decided not to press charges, or who have dropped charges. They have allowed this to keep happening and this will not stop until someone does take action. NEVER take your children to this dentist.

I will NOT take my daughter back to DR LONG. After reading the review below me, and having the same exact issue I know its not just me who feels he shouldnt be working with CHILDREN. I have never in my life had a doctor make me feel like such a crummy parent.I was told my daughter should only drink MILK AND WATER and no sugars at all in her diet. The first few times my daughter went she was very nervous and under 2 so I went back with her. They had to do fillings today on her and I wasnt allowed to go back, I heard her screaming for more than 30 minutes and finally went and asked how she was, the lady at the front desk went to check and said she was crying and very upset but was letting them work. I had to walk outside and left my husband in waiting on her. I had a bad experience as a child and didnt want that for my daughter. We were told prior to the appt that it was only 5 fillings when I looked in her mouth every single one of her teeth had been filled. I will be taking her files and her to another dentist and have this looked over. She is only 3 years old, I feel in no way should he have told her to "BE QUIET AND STOP SCREAMING IN MY OFFICE",she was very upset once we got in our car she told me the DR was mean and told her to be quiet several times. How do you expect a 3 year old to act? They are afraid of the unknown and he told us to not upset her by telling her prior to the appt what would be done. I however told her she was getting her teeth fixed. She was nervous but the staff there lacks any concern at all. Stay away!! I will be sending a complaint to the state board as well.

I have taken my son to Dr. long's office since he was 2. It is kid friendly and he always loves going. They get them in and out. They always make room in emergency situations.

My daughter loves going to the dentist now because of this dental office. It's an open atmosphere, and they did 4 pulp extractions on my daughter's 4 front teeth and you can't tell a difference. She came out happy and content! She loves her teeth! I love it too, she was out in 45 minutes! They are a great dental office!

Our child goes to Dr. Long for dental care. The reception staff is fantastic -- always friendly and polite -- and the hygenists are AWESOME! My only quibble with them is that they don't accept medicaid. (We are Foster Parents and would prefer to take all of the children to the same dentist.)

My daughter had a very bad tooth ache and we had just moved here and did not know any dentist..We took our daughter to him and found out she needed her tooth pulled and she told me he was great - he talked her through everything he was doing and she said she did not feel a thing. We have been back to him for her spacer and cleanings and she looks forward to her visits. The office staff is so nice and they truely care about their little patients.
This is why we love Dr. Long and his office.
