I started seeing Dr. Fanno about two and half years ago. He originally treated me for heel pain, which he diagnosed to be plantar fascitis. I had previous heel pain several years prior, and had treatment including orthotics etc....my pain went away, and incidently, I NEVER wore the orthics , they where very uncomfortable. Well when my heel pain came back in 2009, I was referred to Dr Fanno via a coworker (MTA). Within two weeks of his treatment, stretching, anti inflammatory and I believe one cortisone shot, my pain was 110 percent gone. And about two weeks after that, my new orthotics arrived, which were comfortable as can be the second I put them on. Dr Fanno even stated that although a break in period is explained in the orthotic instructions, most patients with this type of orthotic( graphite flexible ) I think, will feel comfortable from the first minute. He was pretty accurate with that. I now cant go without the orthotics, especially because Im in a boot all day. As for my bunion, which was huge on my right foot, and pretty painful, after topical gels?, exercises, and two steroid injections over several months, I decided to have it surgically fixed. Although I was a bit fearful of the recovery and pain from surgery, Dr Fanno discussed with my on sveral occasions the time frames of the recovery and the key parts of the procedure and events around it. Again hew was very accurate with his times and I felt very comfortable with his bedside manner and discussion of details. In fact Dr Fanno suggested in late 2009 that I should only have the surgery if my symptoms worsened, or if he saw arthritis on xrays, which he did once a year or so. Any way I was back at worked, with no restrictions 6 weeks later, they put me on desk duty when I first returned, which was only 1 week after the procedure. I was very happy with the result, and the honesty of Dr Fanno, and his asssociate. Dr Dimicino.. It was nice when you have to see a different doctor in the group, that the doctor knows exactly the case, that has never happened to me in any other dcotors office IIve been in. Anyway I have and will always recommend Dr Fanno, and 5tjh Ave podiatry to friends and family. There is foot doctor on every corner in the city, But not like this group, they clearly "stand" alone... I felt like I owe to the Dr to take the time out and write something about my experience. Perhaps it will guide and prove useful to anyone in need of foot pain relief...

My experience with Dr. Fanno was fantastic, about as good as one can hope for when having a toe nail removed. He was patient and tender with me, he answered all of my questions thoroughly and made me feel completely at ease. I would have to say it was one of the most positive experiences I have ever had with a doctor.

Thankfully I've only had to go there to get one thing done, but I have to say the experience it made on me was very good. The main doctor did a great job, was able to get everything repaired and I was up and about in no time. If you are looking for a good Podiatrists, this group is top notch. I can see no reason to go anywhere else.
