I sought the services of Dr. Lalin after years of numerous body trauma incidents, and increasing, chronic pain caused by these, and other spinal abnormalities. Dr. Lalin offers a careful, detailed approach to care that is, at the same time, comforting and relaxing. During the first visit, each prospective client is asked to fill out a health history and personal questionnaire that helps uncover the underlying reasons behind the need for chiropractic care. The questions can be quite personal, but somehow do not feel invasive or judgemental. Dr. Lalin believes that all aspects of life, physical, spiritual, and emotional, contribute to our overall health and well being. He uses no X-rays, instead taking digital photos of each client, measuring body alignment based on several markers placed at key points on the body. He performs an immediate spinal adjustment on the very first day, to address prominent issues. He outlines a thoughtful assessment of each and every problem area, and takes the time to explain the possible causes and effects of each one. He then offers a proposed plan of care based on the client's individual need. One can choose to sign up for an extended treatment plan, for which he offers different types of discounts depending on the method of payment, or receive services on a periodic basis for his normal fee. There is no pressure, and each client is welcome to decline his services altogether, but will still be accepted for further treatment at any time with no questions asked.

The environment in Dr. Lalin's office is warm and welcoming. The walls are painted a very pleasing color, and soft music is played in the background to lessen stress and promote relaxation. Dr. Lalin is from France, so he has a very thick foregin accent, but he is charming, intelligent, and witty, and all of this helps to put the client at ease during each visit. Occasionally, one may have the opportunity to be seen by Dr. Lalin's wife, Jody, who is also a chiropractor. Dr. Jody has a warm, smiling personality and a soft speaking voice. Her techniques, while essentially the same as Dr. Gautier's, use a more gentle, subtle approach to an adjustment that the client might find appealingly different.

Before beginning your first adjustment, Dr. Gautier will carefully explain what areas of the body he may or may not work with, and you are welcome to decline work with any areas that might feel uncomfortable. While the primary focus is on the straight chiropractic approach of correcting spinal subluxations, there is also emphasis on the peripheral body, areas of soft tissue, and a cleansing breathing technique that Dr. Gautier refers to as "breath work" or "the breath of life".

Overall, my experiences at the Cafe' of Life have been nothing but positive. In the short time I have been receiving the services here, I have already seen marked improvements in many problem areas of my body. I believe that these doctors of chiropractic have a God-given gift to foster good health and promote healing, not only by their efforts, but by teaching each client to bring about healing within their own bodies. I would recommend Dr. Lalin to anyone seeking chiropractic care.
