Terrible experience. At our first meeting, Dr. Letterie classified our chances of success with assisted conception as excellent. He said that based on my previously normal test results and my husband's history that assuming a few base line tests were normal, my husband's sperm count would be the deciding factor as to which procedure would be most effective, but gave us a 70% success prediction in any case once we found the right procedure. After a series of encounters with rude office staff and botched attempts at running tests (the worst being five sticks to collect a few tubes of blood after being sent to the wrong office), we met with Dr. Letterie again. This time, he informed us that despite normal test results, because I was overweight (which was obvious the first time we entered his office), that he could not in accept us as patients. He had never mentioned that as a disqualifying factor previously and every other doctor I have spoke with about fertility issues has disagreed. The accuracy of his opinion aside, failing to inform us that we did not meet requirements for his practice, at our first consultation instead of after charging us for a series of tests that had no bearing on his willingness and ability to treat us was inexcusable. He left us with no baby, more IF related bills than we had before, and series of degrading experiences. Also, Dr. Letterie is resistant to working with couples who prefer to use sperm from a known donor and was extremely disrespectful in expressing that position. For dishonest business practice, and disrespectful treatment of patients, infertile couples beware.
