was seeing Dr. Gilchrist after finding out some disturbing things about my parents/family. I saw him on 6 different occasions for therapy. Everything was goin well, and I was getting good informationto help me with my anxieties. Then after about four months or so I got 12 different notices in 12 different envelopes from my Insurance company showing the 12 different times Dr. Gilchrist had billed my insurance company for visits. I had only seen him 6 times for Therapy sessions. I felt very strongly that it was suspicious. I felt like I couldn't go back to him after this. Even if it wasn't on purpose (which I felt it was) I didn't know what to think. I contacted the Insurance Co. to let them know that I suspected Insurance Fraud and I stopped payment on a check that I had last submitted to Dr. Gilchrist, knowing that I was going to have to start completely over with a new Therapist. In the mean time I received 5 more notices from my Ins. Co showing that he had billed them for another 5 visits. The Insuranc Co. let me know that they were going to be doing an investigation. I then received a bill in the mail for the check that I had stopped payment on. I was not alarmed to get a bill, infact knew it would probably be coming. I was alarmed by the fees that were tacked on. His website, and the agreement I signed when I first started going to see him had a different amount than what I was charged (about 4times as much) When I called his biller (His wife Debra) it was answering machine with no message. When I called, no one ever answered the phone. I finally left a message, and the next day I heard back from Debra/biller/Dr.'s wife. She started the conversation with an aggitated tone, and just told me (before I could even speak) that I needed to pay my fee or she was taking me to small claims court. I tried to explain my issues, but she kept talking very rudely over me. She called me "Crazy" she told me "You're the one seeing a therapist." She told me, "You need to go see your therapist." She ended up hanging up on me. Clearly insensitive people and the last kind of people that should be working in this field. I would not recommend Dr. Gilchrist to anyone.

My son's girlfriend (age 18) "Jane" saw this Dr. on 4 different occasions for treatment for an eating disorder. Four months later she started receiving phone calls from the office insurance biller (Dr's wife) that "Jane" is irresponsible for not providing insurance information to them and that if she does not pay for these visits NOW she would be sent to small claims court. She also said she had called "Jane" 8 times which was a lie! I offered to help since "Jane" was so upset and I was familiar with dental billing procedures. Upon calling the biller she took an immediate defensive tone and said she can NOT talk to me (even though "Jane" gave me permission). I said I want to simply resolve this issue. She hung up on me twice and in a rude tone said she will not talk to me. I left a message for the Dr. himself (who does not have an office phone or staff to answer the phone). He called "Jane" back in a condescending tone and said that he will work it out- she needs to come back in for more treatment... When I explained to the Dr. I wanted to talk to him he continued to ramble on and ignored everything I said as if I wasn't even speaking. Turns out the Dr. took the insurance info at the first visit but did nothing with it. This Dr. should not even be treating patients with eating disorders! He even had the eating disorder insurance diagnosis code WRONG! I understand this is very specialized and not many docs are qualified- especially not him! Most importantly in the field of mental health, in no way should this young woman "Jane" be subjected to this emotional stress when the doc should have been aware of her already fragile mental state. This is an unprofessional business that you want to AVOID!
