This Doctor was very cold and rude. He does not have a good manner when it comes to making patients feel safe and at ease. If you are looking for someone to comfort you and understand you then this is not the Dr. for you at all. If you want someone to make you feel fat and tell you to join weight watchers then by all means take a visit to this dr!

Dr. Goldenberg definitely knows his medications. And he prescribes with a gentle hand - he does not try to fix a problem by dulling it with high dosages of medicine. He tries to find the least dosage at which results are achieved. However sometimes his unwillingess to use medication to help with a problem is in itself a problem - he is, after all, a psychiatrist. He does not listen well, especially to women (he comes across very patronizing to women). He focuses a LOT on weight - he almost always has me weigh in (he has a scale in his office, along with the requisite couch). That said, he also has his dog, a poodle named Chloe, come into the office twice a week - and she is a treat. I would continue to see him except for his preoccupation with weight. Though I may be a bit pudgy (I would like to lose 10-15 lbs, but I'm a female and I have never been happy with my weight) - I don't need my psychiatrist to continually bring up Weight Watchers (unasked) to me. Particularly since many antidepressants cause weight gain/difficulty losing weight. If my doctor thinks I'm fine (and she does, especially since I work out and exercise regularly), then I don't think it's my psychiatrist's place to repeatedly and persistently focus on a patient's weight. I would prefer he focus on my mental health.
