I initially consulted with Dr. Brett Gordon and followed up with Dr. Steve Gordon when Dr. Brett was out of the office. I found both doctors to be professional, efficient and knowledgeable about a variety of very medical specific issues from which I was suffering. On my second visit with Dr. Steve, he promptly identified many of the issues I had been dealing with for many months after consulting with many other physicians including my own primary care physician, and developed a plan of action. He was direct, answered all my questions, had complete comprehension of my concerns and cancer specific issues. I highly recommend Drs. Gordon. I was pleased with the referral from my oncologist. I asked for an OBGYN and got an expert Urologist AND OBGYN whom I desperately needed as my issues were related and did I mention a great bedside manner too.

My previous doctor is no longer praciticing, so I decided to try Dr. Gordon who was in her same office. The reception staff is not very friendly at all. Dr. Gordon's nurse was friendly, but said "freakin" a lot. First of all, he nurse gave me a gown and told me to tie it in the front. The gown was small ( I am not overweight) and since it had a tie at the neck and below the waist, it gaped open at the chest level. I tried to hold the gown closed as I filled out the piece of paper the nurse gave me without the aid of a clipboard or book to write on. When Dr. Gordon entered with the nurse practioner, he shook my hand and introduced the Nurse Practioner while I tried to hold my gown closed. He seemed nice and asked me many questions and seemed to care about my answers. As I was scooting to the end of the table, the door flew open and the nurse entered to help the doctor. I wasn't expecting that since the NP was still present. The abruptness of the nurse's entry while I was completely exposed was very disconcerting. I felt like he was very rough while performing the exam and it was the only painful papsmear and exam I've ever had; the NP had to keep telling me to breath. When he moved on to the rectal exam, I started to ask if that was necessary. He shoved his finger in without giving me a chance to finish my question. Again he was very rough. Actually when he left the room, I felt a bit violated and left as soon as I could. It was the worst gynecological experience I've ever had in my 22 consecutive years of these types of exams including several repeat pap smears, 2 colposcopies, and a cone biopsy. My pap smear was on 12/9. I got a call on 12/20 that the results were abnormal. I've had that type of result before and they have always called within 2-3 days of the pap smear with the abnormal results because they always get those immediately, yet it took them a full 11 days to call me. I had already decided to see a new gynecologist, so I asked to get my records faxed to the new doctor. So to add insult to injury, they informed me that there would be a charge of $20.65 plus 50 cents per page to fax or copy my records since I was going to a new doctor. I was shocked and told them that I never have had a doctor charge me for records before. When I calmly told them that I didn't make this decision lightly and that there policy of charging for my records added insult to injury and that I would be reporting this experience on Angie's list (something I've never done), the receptionist snottily said "Fine, thank you!" There was no apology or empathy at all. She didn't even care. Like I said earlier, the reception staff is unfriendly. I need to make it clear that I have 4 children, have moved frequently, and have taken care of my elderly grandmother. I have dealt with more doctors than I could count and I have never ever been treated like this before. I have also never felt the need to go online and make a report like this before.
