.

We had a baby with a neural tube defect and hydrocephalus and he refused to give her a shunt at birth and even refused to see her 2 weeks after he removed the encephalocele to take the stitches out. It took 6 months for our neonatologist to convince Dr. Grant that our daughter was thriving and that she needed a shunt. After he saw her before surgery, he was shocked that she was doing so well (she was looking at him smiling) and apologized for not treating her "like a normal child"...needless to say, we never went back.

Because of his refusal to take her and us seriously, she lost a good portion of her eye sight due to the fluid pressure on her optic nerve.

He was rude to us, terrible bedside manner and overall very cold. Our daughter will turn 7 years old this saturday and she sees, hears, walks, talks and doing very well--but I'm afraid not much thanks goes to him.
