UPDATE March 2010:
After many phone arguments with Dr. Green's office manager, Celia, we have still not been reimbursed for the $550 we paid upfront for service (Dr. Green was reimbursed for the procedure from our insurance months ago). Now, Dr. Green has effectively been paid twice for the same procedure. His choice of office manager and decision to not involve himself in the poor customer service reflects poorly on Dr. Green and I would never recommend to use his office.

UPDATE Feb 2010:
Still no reimbursement from Dr. Green's office even though the insurance paid them last month. Now, we are told that they will only reimburse us the amount that the insurance paid to the doctor. Therefore, the difference between paying in cash and paying through insurance is charged to the customer. Insurance industry calls this "balance billing" and it is against the rules of participating providers in insurance networks. If Dr. Green wants to be paid as a cash doctor, why is he in an insurance plan? After many arguments with Celia (I'm not the only one who has been in an argument with her, see below reviews) we are done.

Looks like they want it all - business from insurance patients as well as total cash payment as if you were not insured. They have officially lost all of our future business as well as any friends/family that we would have recommended. Hope it was worth the couple hundred extra dollars this time, Celia and Dr. Green.

UPDATE Jan 2010:
The doctor is good, but his billing is ruining the experience. I won't recommend this doctor to friends unless they have a cash reserve to pay upfront for their healthcare. Yet again, we were made to pay upfront for something that his office said was not covered. I subsequently called our insurance after paying Dr. Green's office and found out that we are covered and should not have paid upfront. Of course, Dr. Green's receptionist said they will issue a check after they get reimbursed from our insurance (a clear violation of their agreement with the insurance company). Who knows how long this will take. In the 15 years that I have been covered under an insurance plan as an adult, I have never had to pre-pay for my medical care.
-------

After many months, we were paid back from the below charges:

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
This office could be at risk of losing their insurance according to Blue Cross/Blue Shield. We were required to pre-pay for our first few appointments even though we had insurance. Because I was a new employee at my company, our cards were not there in time. We did provide a letter stating our coverage.

Eventually they started accepting our insurance, but they still owe us some of our money back - our baby is already 6 months old, so it's been over a year! Makes having a baby that much more difficult when you have even more money required for pre-payment!

Pros: Good if you pay your healthcare with cash

Cons: Require cash pre-payment even with insurance

POOR organizational skills in front office. On three occations front desk carried on a verbal agrument with a client, one of them being me. Does not return calls in a timely manner. Doctor 1 hour late to first appointment of the day and clientele could hear front desk yelling at him on the phone to get to the office.
