We've been going to Dr. Haman for 3 years. All our experiences have been very good. My 5 year old hasn't had to have any fillings or invasive work done (hopefully will never need to!!). We're VERY happy w/ Dr. Haman and her staff.

It has the look of a great place. A+ for kid friendly design. But horrible dentist practice and cold staff personality.

Maybe they're okay if you just need a cleaning as we didn't have any problems unitl small fillings were needed. Not

We've been going to Dr. Haman for about 4 years. My son had a cavity filled there, and he's also had a cavity filled at Comfort Dental. Dr. Haman had him totally relaxed and watching TV during the procedure, when he cried throughout at Comfort Dental.

My kids get their cleanings twice per year at Dr. Haman's office, and neither one dreads going there. They do not make parents wait in the waiting room; in fact, I have gone in the procedure area with them every time, and I'm the only parent I've seen in there! It was never an issue, I simply walked back there with them and wasn't told otherwise. We'll continue going to Dr. Haman!

I have taken my kids to Dr. Michelle Haman for years and have never had a bad experience. Of course going to the dentist isn't always a pleasurable experience when you need to have work done but Dr Haman and her staff do a great job putting my kids at ease. She has laughing gas when needed for my kids, but usually her kind caring and fun ways are enough to put them at ease, She is fabulous. I think when some one has an issue it is more about their own guilt about neglecting their childrens teeth than about the dentist. When your child repeatidly has decay that is the parents fault! a dentist cannot create this or "spread" it- it is just neglect by the parent , so why blame the dentist? I 100% would recommend Dr Haman to anyone and everyone!

Pros: best pediatric dentist in town, fun office, helpful staff

Cons: none

In defense to the statement presented by "mathmatic":

My husband and I brushed our daughters gums before she even had teeth. Dr. Michelle Haman exaggerated her cavity situation in the first diagnosis, and then did in fact drill into her tooth root which caused her entire mouth to suffer decay. Another dentist, Dr. Callahan, told us this. Our pediatrician, Dr. Gayle Gilroy, has also received horrific complaints and has since removed her from her recommendation list of pediatric dentists.

All children can be affected by cavities for more reasons than just "infrequent brushing." (Some lack enough saliva to protect their teeth from developing cavities, etc.)

What parent doesn't deal with guilt with any physical dilemma that their children may go through? I will be praying for you, one, that you would develop more compassion for others and two, that your children will never have to go through anything that may require you to post anything but positive results for Dr. Michelle Haman.

(You may also want to read what other people have posted on her before insulting those of us who are trying to stand up for our children, and to protect other children from immature and inhumane dental practices.)

So to answer your question of, "Why blame the dentist?" My answer can only be, "Because it was her fault."

Even one star is too much. Our experience was over 10 years ago and our son has still not forgotten and neither have we. Our pediatric dentist had retired and we mistakenly thought a woman would be a more compassionate and a less-risky option for a pediatric dentist. Gender is obviously not a good judge of compassion.

Dr. Haman was cold and inhumane in her treatment of our son. He had fallen and bumped a front tooth and, sadly, the tooth had quickly abscessed. We made our first (and last) appointment with Dr. Haman. We requested for one of us to accompany our son so we could reassure him, but we were told it was not their policy. We politely asked to go anyway, given the circumstances. After a rude response from Dr. Haman's staff, we were finally allowed back.

After witnessing her "treatment," we saw why she didn't want us with him. She was brutal and cold to our young child. She attempted to "numb" the tooth which we later found out is impossible when a tooth has abscessed and she literally wrenched the tooth out without any sedation. It was sickening to watch and he was so traumatized that he cried for several hours. Our son, who had normally gone to the dentist without any problem, was left scared and bewildered by a very mean and thoughtless dentist.

We immediately sought a new dentist and, thankfully, found a wonderful and very compassionate male DDS. The first several times we had to take him for routine cleanings, he had to be completely sedated for the first time in his life. Through the steady, gentle way our new dentist has worked with him (and he ENCOURAGES parents to accompany their children!), our son once again looks forward to going to the dentist.

Dr. Haman needs to change professions so she doesn??t work with people and especially children.

I was very surprised at the review that was displayed. I have taken my children to Dr. Haman for seven years and never had a problem. The first time my youngest went I did go back with her and yes she was upset but was expected for the first time at the dentist. The next time I went the assistant had explained that children react better when their parents arent back so I waited in the waiting room and my child did do better. They also recommend this when children have work done because of course your child wants his or her parents when they are getting their teeth fixed because they are nervous but for safety reasons they dont want to take the chance of a child reaching up for their mom because they could get poked or hurt which is understanding. Dr. Haman sets out toys as a reward for the children who have work done or their teeth cleaned because its something special for them. Why should she give toys to every child that is not getting work done? It gives them something to look forward to. As far as policies all buisnesses have policies we may not like but we do have to follow. If your child has to have surgery are you going to demand to go back there of course not again for the safety of your child. If you have a bad feeling about somewhere why return go with your first instinct. If the first time you had a bad feeling then the second time you will go in and analize for all the negative. My opinion you cant satisfy everyone but I wouldnt pick another dentist to bring my children to but Dr. Haman

Pros: very caring

I've taken my two young children to Dr. Haman twice. At the first visit, I vowed to NEVER return.
Dr. Haman is extremely unprofessional, uncaring, stoic and cold. There are several women that work there so I didn't know which one was Dr. Haman at first. I had to ask which one was her. Dr. Haman never said hello or introduced herself. She was unfriendly as was the rest of her staff.

At a Pediatric Dentistry office you'd expect smiles, upbeatnes and friendliness. This is not the case! Every employee there acts the same way as Dr. Haman. Not even "one" of the employees was pleasant or friendly.

So, I stupidly went back to Dr. Haman yesterday. The atmosphere was the same as I described at the beginning.

When my 5 yr old was called back, my 4 yr old son (with special needs) and I were quickly summoned over (away from the patient chair) over to a bench in the corner, if we wanted to remain back there.

When my 4 yr old and I ended up over there talking to my daughter we got dirty looks as if to say "how dare you break the rules and leave the bench"!

I decided NOT to let Dr. Haman continue treatment when a (Hygienist, I guess), nobody introduces themselves or tells you who they are. This lady strongly refused my son a toy that they had hundreds of in a bucket. There were 3 or 4 huge plastic buckets with many many toys in it.

She told him "no" because it was NOT his appointment. He began to cry and tell me that the lady said "no"! She coldly turned away. I asked her if she thought she was being cruel to a young child that doesn't understand........... She refused to change and spun her chair around in the other direction.

They were willing to take hundreds from my insurance co. + money from me for this appt but coldly refused to give a plastic toy the size of a penny to a young innocent child.

This place is a disgrace to any professional medical practice, especially one that's suppose to cater to children.

Cons: Unprofessional Dr. & Staff as well as unfriendly. They almost act as if they're doing you a favor.
