.

My mother has been losing more than 4 ounces of blood a day since her procedure with Dr. Farr. The assistant after her procedure 9/6/2011 gave me specific instructions (along with paperwork) that if she should be losing up to as much as a tablespoon of blood we should call the office immediately and she may need to go the ER. I called. I spoke directly with Dr. Farr. The conversation started out poorly. I never was able to finish my first sentence or subsequent sentences during our phone call. He spoke over me and when I didn't understand things and tried to ask him to explain in lay mans terms, he didn't he still never heard my pleas, as he spoke with an agitated, high volume voice and interrupted every chance I would try to take to ask him and describe my mothers condition. This was very frustrating. He then prescribed a medication that he said would help her but that there was no alternative for. she would have to get this specific medication. It turned out that it was not covered by her insurance. I spent 4 days trying to get some answers, why is she bleeding so much, why did the nurse tell us to go the ER and he said "not to"? Why also did he tell us there was no generic version of the prescription when (after much diligent investigating on my part) after 4 days of phone calls, research, much stress did I find out there was indeed a generic version that her insurance did cover. The one he prescribed was several hundred dollars. The generic version (which is the exact same ingredients and percentage) is a $5.00 copay! My mother has lost a lot of blood in these past 4 days while we were trying to get this medication - the one he said there was no alternative for! This man has still not answered many of my questions. He proved clearly that my mothers best interest is not his first priority. He is extremely unprofessional. Beware!
